Are there any other mums going nuts waiting for their baby to arrive? If you would like to share your experiences or discuss tips for self inducing come aboard here.

HI - am 38 +4 and am looking constantly for signs. Lots of BH last week but none this. Baby definitely lower as can now breathe but as number 3 I am racing round after dd and ds and keep wondering if thats why I am aching!
Problem is I was induced for 1 & 2 so have no idea what I'm looking for anyway.
Off to consultant tomorrow for check up and am hoping head is more engaged!

Bubbaloo2 · 18/11/2009 18:58

Midwife today... baby is back to back AGAIN!!!
Head is not fixed or engaged although she said it was 3/5 engaged last week.
So disappointed... feel like this will go on forever!
Getting more tired and belly is so heavy...

sorry moan moan moan. {sad]

How can there be no signs at 40 weeks????

update from a very fed up me

To make matters worse had a run in with a nasty delivery man today who was rude to me. I'm still enormous and uncomfortable, and despite lots of strange signs, still pregnant!

1mum1 · 18/11/2009 20:07

I'm 38 weeks today! Not feeling that desperate yet as feel I still have lots do to around the house but am certainly tired enough to want her here!

Joycey29 · 18/11/2009 22:32

Well tomorrow is the day - low fluid again so induction booked for tomorrow!!!! A bit shell shocked as all ok last week but same happened with ds and dd so not unexpected!!!

Bubbaloo2 · 19/11/2009 12:59

Hairtwiddler hugs for you... that sounds very stressful. Things must be happening for you soon! I looked at the size of my belly today and I nearly cried I look so huge! I know how you feel.

Its my due date today... never thought I would get to 40 weeks but here I am and I have had a show!!!!! . However lower back is throbbing... must be the back to back thing so going to get on all fours now etc.

Ooh, good luck bubbaloo, and thanks for support!
I'm having a quiet day, absolutely nothing to report. Been trying to get hold of community midwife all day to debrief re: yesterday but to no avail. Thinking of calling gp.

funtimewincies · 19/11/2009 19:43

Sounds like a rum experience hairtwiddler, is it one of the big teaching hospitals ? Maybe rural isolation isn't so bad after all. We don't have posh coffee but our hospital never feels as nuts as yours sounds.

Happy Due Day Bubbaloo2, hope something happens soon .

I'm 38+4 today and ds (nearly 3) managed to kick me very hard in the tummy this afternoon. Quite painful, but no contractions or bleeding so a nice quiet evening planned and keeping fingers crossed that no damage done.

Nearly finished my Christmas shopping online last night (just waiting on John Lewis getting some new stock in) and I'll fit the car seat tomorrow, so feeling pretty ready now.

hairtwiddler · 19/11/2009 20:31

Yes, big big teaching place. Great if you have a complicated pregnancy and one of the best in the country. I'm having a home birth because I'm lucky enough to be low risk and I know I would be left to my own devices there anyway!
We're all making steady progress it seems. This thread will need a new title soon!

hairtwiddler · 20/11/2009 10:46

Update - he's arrived! 39+3, born in our own bedroom after three hour labour. It was just perfect. 8lb 7oz.
Will try to post home birth story at some point. In the meantime, hoping he wakes up again soon so I can feed and snooze!

waddlelikeaduck · 20/11/2009 15:49

congratulations Hartwiddler!!

1mum1 · 20/11/2009 18:01

Congratulations hairtwiddler!

I'm 38 plus 2 - anyone else having premenstrual type grumpiness/stress? Maybe it's just impatience but I really have the hump for no reason!!

funtimewincies · 20/11/2009 19:46

Congratulations hairtwiddler !

1mum1 - I'm 38+5 and keep wanting to burst into tears for no real reason, so I think that hormones are stepping up a gear.

Does anyone else feel quite sick a lot of the time? Maybe it's just the old bending over problem.

Wishing · 20/11/2009 19:54

congrats hairtwiddler! thats fab news!! So pleased for you!

Fingers corssed everyone else is soon! im getting so fed up! xxxxxxxx

Joycey29 · 21/11/2009 09:41

DD turned up Thurs at 16.30 weighing 7lb1oz.
All doing well - good luck to you all and I hope she's the first of many!!

funtimewincies · 21/11/2009 18:45

On a roll now...congratulations Joycey29 .

My baby can't arrive yet, the cat has to go back to the vets AGAIN on Monday as she keeps fighting and getting various body parts bitten. It's costing me a fortune, but never quite enough to claim on the insurance .

Kingsroadie · 21/11/2009 18:54

First baby, 38+3 (same as 1mum1 I think!). Seriously impatient at the best of times and more so now! Getting lots of BH and have been for a while but nothing yet...everyone I know seems to be going overdue!

1mum1 - yup have been really grumpy and snappy this week - and have cried a couple of times too. Just want the little one out now!

Many congrats to everyone who has had their babies! -

1mum1 · 21/11/2009 19:10

That's right Kingsroadie, same as me! Lets hope we don't have to wait too long! She is defintely on the move down though as my ligaments have been murder all day when I've tried to do anything.

Congrats to Joycey29! x

DS came at 40+6...praying this LO isn't late!
Good luck to you all

funtimewincies · 23/11/2009 19:42

39+1 today and up half the night with a false alarm. Painful tightenings, backache and cramping from about 9pm-3am, really felt like the real thing, trying to decide whether to phone the hospital (I need ABs in labour) and drag my parents out in the middle of the night to look after ds.

Then suddenly - nothing , all stopped!

Arse .

katster37 · 24/11/2009 09:50

Funtimewincies I have had that several times now. It's soooo frustrating, isn't it. I am now 40+3 and really fed up.

Bubbaloo2 · 24/11/2009 17:43

He arrived on Friday at 7.30 am.
Started as planned homebirth but had to transfer to hospital as was back to back and head at an angle with cord round his neck. Still managed vaginal birth with forceps.
Staff at hospital were amazing... just managed to get online today as trouble sitting.
Good luck all
