Lovely news about Erika...
I'm struggling today. Whole walk to nursery and back bump was really tight and hard and was walking so slowly. Have been feeling very introspective and grumpy too!
Off for a lie down but I think will drive to do the pick up later on!

preggersplayspop · 11/11/2009 16:03

Still hanging on here! Got DS at home because there is a case of swine flu at his nursery and it would be really really annoying to catch it now. He has been playing up a bit but was quite wearing this morning, but we both just had a mega long nap, which was fab.

No signs of any twinges or anything. Itching much better today though!

Bubbaloo2 · 12/11/2009 11:23

I dreamt the entire night about going into labour...but still no twinges yet :-(

Had a hypnotherapy session this morning so am in a good frame of mind if it wants to come out today.

Going to try and put the birthing pool up tomorrow.. perhaps the sight of it will get things moving?

Hey everyone!

38+5 today... Had contractions the past two nights / period pain / back ache, but then just as I get my hopes up, EVERYTHING stops abruptly!! It's not fair!! Currently absolutely NOTHING.

Bubbaloo how was the hypnotherapy session?

funtimewincies · 12/11/2009 13:44

Brilliant news about ErikaMaye ! Who is next?

Had an evening of being punched in the groin so badly that I couldn't walk more than a couple of steps accompanied by a few 'serious' contractions and a constantly solid bump. This morning I just feel tired and sick and thoroughly fed up. If someone offered me a CS today, I'd probably take it (even though I don't need it) . I'm only 37+4, so might be here a while yet.

Sorry for whingeing, just feeling a bit sorry for myself .

katster37 - I had a good 2 weeks of 'oohh, it's starting - oh, it's stopped' with ds before finally being induced. It's so frustrating!

Im 38 weeks this week, can i join in?

Glad to see everyone else feels the same as me!.....ive not got a midwife and keep seeing different ones everytime i go, one is horrible and the other lovely! this is my forst so i have no idea what to expect, i just feel like im waiting and getting very impatient!

one midwife says it would be early anyday now, other keeps telling my im having a big baby and it isnt going anywhere so i might as well get used to the fact they will have to induce me and i got at least another 3 weeks till that happens! How is anyone supposed to no what to believe!

Im doing everything possible to get the baby in best position .....im even still at work! on reduced hours granted but im keeping as active as i can!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Wishing · 13/11/2009 14:28

oh and im so sorry! congrats to erikamaye......im so pleased for you gald you both doing well! xx

Bubbaloo2 · 13/11/2009 15:47

Hi Wishing

I cant believe they told you you have a big baby and you are likely to be induced!! Sounds like a load of nonsense to me, especially as they are contradicting themselves.
Who is to say when that baby wants to arrive??
Hang in there and get used to every midwife/health visitor tell you something different about absolutely everything. Trust your instincts instead.

Hey Katster, the hypnotherapy was great. I really wanted it to come there and then and was in the best frame of mind. I have found them invaluable sessions.

Feeling really pants today... got leakages and hurts when I sit down. Getting hard again

Thought I'd pop in for a moan to say hi!

I am 39+3 today and am soooo fed up. Had 3hrs of very strong BH/mild contractions on Tues evening. They were between every 5-7mins and I started getting excited thinking it might be the real thing, then nothing grrrr.

Was in hos yesterday eve for monitoring as baby not been moving much for last 2days but all was fine. Whilst I was there I started having the pains again, roughly every 5mins so was given an internal to check what's going on. They said baby is very low, soft cervix but only 1cm so who knows when it might happen. It's the not knowing that drives me mad!

Glad I'm not alone though...

Wishing · 14/11/2009 14:20

thanks Bubbaloo2 i cant say im not worrying its going to be big! I cant help feeling that i will be missing out on a baby if it is big.......daft i know! but it just seems they keep making out that a huge baby is disasterous! im trying my best to ignore everyone now though and just look forward to it finally arriving!

Same here easyeggs i had really strong bh last night between 8pm and 1am but they were allover the place, and baby was moving around manically! (another reason why he/she cant be soooooo big can they or they wouldnt have the space to move that much would they?) Then everything just stopped..no movement, didnt matter what i did drunk cold water, etc anything baby was having none of it ............si i called delivery wards and they asked me to go in, i was in such a panic! luckily everything ok they found heartbeat straight away and monitored it for over half an hour and i was then sent home! felt like a complete panicing baffoon but i guess better to get things checked than sit worrying! Midwife said that it was probably tierd after its manic moving around, movements today are a lot less but are getting the stil so no worries today! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope everyone else ok and still hanging in there! xxxxxxx

hairtwiddler · 14/11/2009 14:51

Definitely better to go in Wishing. I had a similar experience a few weeks back when I thought waters had gone (which they hadn't). They didn't make me feel like I had wasted their time in the maternity assessment unit at all.
I'm getting infrequent contractions too, and little tiny bits of show but nothing consistent. I truly believe now this baby will hang on to due date and possibly beyond.
Have been spending today organising Christmas presents online and a birthday party for DD in early January. Nesting without any effort
Took DD to ballet this am - there were no chairs left so a nice man went to get one for me. He brought two and put them side by side!! I think I must be enormous!
Hoping for some deliveries this week!

funtimewincies · 14/11/2009 17:52

Just popping in for the news, hi to anyone who has joined us recently.

The heartburn is horrendous at the moment, which I can't believe as I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Ds didn't drop until I was in labour but I don't remember feeling this horrible. It feels like I'm going to sick up acid all the time and the chest pain is nasty . Unusually, Gaviscon isn't touching it, so I'm in a fairly foul mood (poor dh )!

Enough whingeing from me.

Bubbaloo2 · 14/11/2009 18:40

I have found eating a creamy yoghurt helps my heartburn. I was having a bad time of it too funtimewincies a few weeks ago, especially after eating meat. Am eating a petit filous before bed and it seems to help.
Bit bizarre I know.

I'm still around. Having another uncomfortable night with braxton hicks which are lasting over an hour and some painful shorter contractions on top of them.
Have what seems like limb which is digging sharply into my right side all through stomach tightenings.
No other signs though. I can't get over how different this pregnancy is to my last one.

BexJ78 · 16/11/2009 23:04

hello! I am 38 weeks on sat. apparently nothing doing so far though.....

Wishing · 17/11/2009 08:14

Hello everyone, im not sure if its news or not been up since 6am with an uncomfortable pain - so hard to describe lasted a few mins and then faded and ive had some mild bh since (i think!) the pain was like an intense period pain combined with like a stabbing feeling, it woke me up and i couldnt lie down. im just about to have a bath see of that helps - could this be it??

Im 39 weeks 2mora!

Also in realtion to heartburn i drink a pt of milk before i go to bed but also i havent had it all week and tha baby has dropped right down so i think thats possibly why cos its not pushing on anything higher up anymore!

Belgianbun any news - fingers crossed for you!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/11/2009 08:23

Good luck Wishing. If you can, get someone to pour water on your belly as you have the stabbing pains I spent pretty most of my labour with DS like that. DH had some muscular arms afterwards!

Im 37 weeks and have been on the pineapple but dont think it agreed with me!
Going to have a nice (ha!) cup of rasberry cat pee tea now!

carmenelectra · 17/11/2009 14:04

i will be 38 wks on Sat and I dont want the baby to come yet as i have loads to do. Dont want to go over either, just need another week or so!!

I get Braxton Hicks from time to time but I know that means nothing. Few period type pains the weekend which bothered me more, but gone now

Bubbaloo2 · 17/11/2009 19:44

I took a few raspberry leaf tabs, and a big eve prim. and smothered my tummy in clary sage oil. All night I had twinges bordering on dull period pain acheand major Braxton Hicks...really thought this was the start... only for them to totally disappear all day.
Needless to say was knackered all day and managed to sleep when DS had a nap.

What are these feelings.. is this the cervix softening. Am 40 weeks now on Thurs. Midwife coming tomorrow and has offered a sweep ( so soon IMO) but am declining it.

Have blown the pool up tonight... thats a real reality check!

Whats everyone else's due dates? Interesting to hear some of us all getting small signs now.
