Still here, 38 weeks tomorrow.
Feeling decidedly uncomfortable today. Lots of pressure on bottom and braxton hicks aplenty.
Suspect some of this is due to anxiety that am alone in house with DD today and am worried about rapid labour like last time so looking for every slight sign.
Very very fed up today! Had a curry last night but the only thing it led to was indigestion.

tasjaSAmuminSA · 09/11/2009 10:34

Hi there

Im 37+4. I'm so fed up! Tried the walking thing, NOTHING!! Had lots of sex over the weekend as well, NOTHING not ever BH!!!!

I'm so tired and feel so down. I just cried like a 2 year old and don't know why I feel this way!!!

Just wish DS would come now. Def going to try the primrose thing.

DD was born on 35 weeks.

Bubbaloo2 · 09/11/2009 10:47

Hey tasjaSAmuminSA I read on here somewhere that a real good cry started someone off!!! LOL

I am trying to chill about baby's postitioning and got appointment with osteopath to make sure pelvis is in good position.. maybe then the baby will get into a good position and feel ready to come out!

Tried clary sage oil on my belly last night, maternity acupressure and maternity reflexology with help of DH.

Going to take some even.prim. cap now.... and walk later!

SIGH!

Thanks I needed that

funtimewincies · 09/11/2009 20:23

I know what you mean about the anxiety of a quick labour hairtwiddler. I need antibiotics in labour for GBS, but can't have the Penicillin one. I need the Cyclamycin which needs to be given at least 8 hours before birth. I'm not sure that my body is going to give me that much notice .

hairtwiddler · 09/11/2009 20:50

Currently I'm worried about going into labour when the person comes round to clean my oven tomorrow afternoon! Can you imagine how embarrasing to explain to someone with their head deep in your oven that they have to leave because you may be about to have a baby imminently?

ErikaMaye · 09/11/2009 21:29

I'm just worried about giving birth generally... But also incredably impatient for something to start happening!

katster37 · 10/11/2009 09:57

I agree, Erika - I am torn between feeling desperate for something to kick off, and sheer terror at the thought of what that would actually mean. Aaaaagh!!

BTW Erika, any news????!

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 10:21

Check the other thread Katster - my waters have gone

Bubbaloo2 · 10/11/2009 10:44

Congrats Erika!!! Progress!!!

I'm so excited

funtimewincies · 10/11/2009 10:58

Ooh, the first baby of the thread soon! I'm ludicrously excited on your behalf .

I've just been to the supermarket to get snacks and drinks for my hospital bag. I might have overdone it a teensy bit, but I barely got anything to eat in 24 hours last time as I never seemed to be in the right part of the hospital at mealtimes. I was famished and trying to breastfeed, not the best combination.

I'm also back in heartburn hell here, so I think that baby has popped back out of my pelvis .

Bubbaloo2 · 10/11/2009 13:08

Same here funtimewincies my baby has popped out of pelvis but upside is I have less backache so perhaps was in an awkward position?

Had some twinges last night at 3 am to wake me up several times but I wouldnt say painful.. but they totally disappear when I get up in the morning. Useless.

I think the clary sage oil rub may be bringing on the twinges...

Hi, I am 39 weeks tomorrow (I think). Had a hellish day yesterday spending most of it in the hospital having liver function blood tests due to a weird rash and itchy hands and feet. Scared myself googling which was a bit silly, but tests seem to be ok. Hands are still itching like crazy though.

Baby seems ok but I just want him out now.

Getting lots of BH (but been having these for ages) and thought I was woken with some mild contractions last night but I think it was wishful thinking.

Should pack my bag really, but I am really procrastinating for some reason!

hairtwiddler · 10/11/2009 14:38

I'd say pack your bag preggers! Mine has been packed since 34 weeks and is hopefully not needed now if homebirth goes to plan. It's still in the car though, don't want to tempt fate by unpacking it.
I have itchy hands too, but have put it down to cold weather - always get dry cracked skin around about this time. I put on some neutrogena hand cream and they seemed to react badly. Still feel dry today but not so bad.
Am also getting more painful contractions at night time, but they don't seem to come to anything - except sometimes wind!!
The man came to clean my oven and looked terrified when I told him the baby could come anytime. Most fun I've had in weeks.
Just off to collect DD from nursery. Will be walking briskly!
Have also booked hairdresser for Friday afternoon. If anything will bring on labour it's having something like that to look forward to!

hairtwiddler · 10/11/2009 14:38

Oh, and waiting for news from ErikaMaye!

preggersplayspop · 10/11/2009 14:45

Yes my 'contractions' tend to be wind as well .

I know I should pack it really, but DS1 was born at 40+6 so in my head I have a couple of weeks left. I have washed the baby clothes though so I guess that's progress. I can't really remember what was useful last time, other than yoghurt covered raisins. I remember packing a couple of straws on the recommendation of someone which I never used.

I quite like going to the shops and the checkout lady asking when I am due and me responding 'oh, 3 days ago'. I like the look in their eyes - sort of a 'argggh, get out of my shop!' look.

funtimewincies · 10/11/2009 17:59

I had a similar look preggersplayspop (love the name ) when I asked a lady in a shop the other day whether they had battery kitchen timers, rather than the clockwork ones.

She apologised that they didn't and asked how accurate I needed it to be. When I replied 'ohh, fairly accurate, it's for timing my contractions you see' the expression was priceless. I had to explain rather quickly that I had a couple more weeks in hand !

Glad that the itching is nothing sinister.

preggersplayspop · 10/11/2009 18:55

Ha ha. I should add a battery kitchen timer to my list. Last time I had my DH's digital watch and the beeping drove me crazy!

Bubbaloo2 · 10/11/2009 19:32

Girls I cant recommend going to an osteopath enough!
Just been for an appointment to see if my pelvis needing freeing up/aligning... and also I have no lower back pain at all now. Amazing!! Hopefully it will knock off a few hours of labour this time!

I feel a step closer to him coming now...
Also bought some raspberry leaf tablets for tomorrow... dont want pains to start in the night...need my kip!

Wonder if ErikaMaye has had the baby yet.

Dh is back home tomorrow and couldn't be soon enough. Ds and I have had an extremely grumpy bathtime where he was determined to do all the things that he knows drive me nuts.

I can hear that he's revving some cars against his bedroom wall when he's supposed to be going to sleep but I don't have the energy to go back up. At least he's in bed, I suppose. I'm really looking forward to my first G&T after this baby is born !
