Oooohhh jw I can now blame you for the fresh strawberry and ice cream milk shake I'm going to make - well I need it!

Have finally got around to selling a project motorbike I'm never going to have time to build. 'Friends' are coming to collect it, he's always lovely but she is as prickly as a cactus so the milk shake is called for!

BonzoDoodah · 25/06/2009 16:30

We're off to Scotland tonight for a lovely long weekend - to watch the Highland Games in DH's family's village and hopefully to go strawberry picking mmmmmmmm. Dad has threatened me not to have a Scottish baby... but I've told him I've got 4 weeks to go .... (Taking my notes just in case). Have a lovely weekend everyone - and ermintrude - I need photos of the baby when I come back please.

FloriaTosca · 25/06/2009 17:58

Floria rushes in....
mrsB we gotthis considerably cheaper...Alex loves it for tv watching [bad mother emoticon]and it reclines for his midday nap...

...rushes out to teach/go out corporate entertaining for Dh/ try and fit in some parenting to a 20mth old who has hit the terrible 2 already...

Tee2072 · 25/06/2009 19:45

erm I didn't mean outgrow it now! I meant eventually!!

floria Nice to see you, even if just a fly by! Oh joy, terrible twos.

bonzo have a lovely time in Scotland.

I myself am getting fed up with midwives and health visitors. I haven't seen the same community midwife twice, so I've had to tell them Adam's birth story over. And over. And over. And then the HV comes and I need to tell her the same thing. And HV comes again on Monday and MW on Tuesday. Enough all ready!!

johnworf · 25/06/2009 20:42

Ok ladies. How's it hanging? (ermintrude you don't have to answer that literally).

Not sure today warrants a round up. There's not enough posts as yet. Are we all drained now that the sun has come out?

Just found my phone on the back seat of the car and I had 2 missed calls and voicemail. Turns out the journalist has been trying to call me to do this interview as it's running this Sunday. Hopefully he'll get me tomorrow and I can have a chat with him.

K's still whining upstairs and I think she just doesn't know what to do with herself in the heat. Poor thing. I've put the fan and and wait and see if it settles her.

DH has gone off to the pub a business meeting. I get some time on my own (when K finally goes to sleep!)

bonzo hope you have a lovely time in bonny Scotland. Don't go tossing any cabers....might start you off in labour. Stick with something lightweight....like the hammer.

tee that's sad that there's no continuity of care I had same MW everytime and I see same HV everytime too. It's nice when they get to know you and your baby and you can build some sort of rapport. Can't you request same one each visit?

I've been watching this homeless programme. Wasn't that aristo an arse last night? I think he's the one who drops out. No surprise there

I've just found Tesco coupons Saved £16 off my shop including delivery and I got £10 quidco too. Not bad. I think I need more of a life though rather than searching the net for money off coupons

GP weigh in tomorrow. Dreading it. Feel a lecture coming on.

hedgepig what did your DH get you for your b'day? Was it a sexy knicker combo or a new frying pan?

mrsboogie · 25/06/2009 20:55

'Ere jw where did you get the vouchers? I haven't been able to find any for yonks!

cheers for the link floria that is very sweet and more sensible than the expensive jobbie, I think I am persuaded

D has just gone up, not been too keen to settle either.

no news for round ups until ermintrude comes up with the goods

getting hair done tomorrow and off to the pub for drinks after work. Hurrah end of a long week.

johnworf · 25/06/2009 21:10

OOOOOOOOOOOOOh mrsb you're off out! And new hair in the same day! I'm very Enjoy yourself dear.

You can get £10 off £50 shop with this code £10 off: GR9KPL + Free Del: GRRX4F

For Tesco I opened another account and went through Quidco for another £10. You can link your new account to your old clubcard number. All in all I saved £26 doing this

mrsboogie · 25/06/2009 21:33

cheers jw

jeanjeannie · 25/06/2009 21:38

Hello all.............night night all.

Feel rough, tired and moany!

jw wow - if only I could be arsed - £26 is a big saving. Hope you catch up with the journo and good luck for the GP tomorrow. Personally I'd go for the Wimbledon angle - it's been a shocker, I mean we've only got Murray left in; tell him it's the stress

mrsb hair AND drinks....good work girl! I also LOVE the chair floria linked to - I think they're more likely to last longer. Iris really enjoys her mate's one.

floria ah the terrible twos....MMmmm, I seem to remember they come way before the 2nd birthday arrives

tee that's rubbish continuity - poor you. Can you not have a snooze while you get your mum to bring them all up-to-speed?!!

dawntigga what - no time to build a motorcycle?!! You need to eat more cake....that'd give you the energy to put it together Hope the cactus lady wasn't too prickly!

Righty ho - hot, bothered and have a bit of a head on me still so bed beckons..ta ta for now x Oh I wonder if there will be a little erm when i awake??!

johnworf · 25/06/2009 21:53

drags heels and hangs head in shame

.........forgive me ladies, for I have sinned. The lure of the Boden autumn preview with the seductive 20% off and free delivery MADE me order this At least I only ordered 1 thing ....I'm saving myself for the sale which starts next week though

JJ you get yourself up to bed dear. This weather has made us all go off the boil a bit I think. Hope your head clears up soon. Not nice at all but the girls might show some compassion and sleep through for you

Not that bothered really about tomorrow. I've not weighed myself for a while so have completely no idea where I am with it all. At least I can just about squeeze my pants on still

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 25/06/2009 22:17

JW I think the issue with the different MWs is because of Adam being in the hospital. I never got together with the first one again because of her schedule and my being at the hospital with him. I just think its silly that there are MWs and HVs. I don't really see the need for both! And now my HV is on holiday!

And I think that Boden top is lovely.

Night JJ. I am not too far behind you. Adam is currently asleep, but he'll be up for a feed in not too long!

Well done mrsb hair and a drink!

ermintrude13 · 25/06/2009 22:18

JW good luck at doc's tomorrow. The Boden tanktop is great for covering one's midriff anyway

Tee I hope you get some MW/HVs the same - like JW I got the same HV and mostly the same MW and it did make it more convivial - not to mention saving us having to retell the story over and over. Still, it's a good story

JJ You get your head down and hope you feel better in the morning. Not feeling like I'll calf tonight, but who knows?

mrsb Get that Friday feeling! And have one for me.

I've had quite a few visitors who've obviously taken pity on me and come round to distract me over coffee; another friend called just now to invite me to waddle over to hers tomorrow morning - only down the road - so I'm having a better social life than usual at least .

Night night all.

johnworf · 25/06/2009 22:28

tee I dunno how things work in NI but here, when a baby has been on NICU/SCBU then you are sent a MW attached to that unit. They should have read your notes before they arrive if they don't already know you. This is common practice.

As for your HV being on holiday, it shouldn't matter. There is no need for a stand in HV. You only get visits every so often anyway. Once he's had his heel prick (should have done it in SCBU) she just needs to give you the results. A few weeks no show wouldn't make a difference. Can't see why she's visiting so much

It sounds a very strange set up indeed.

Night ermintrude. Hope your baby pops out and surprises you in the night

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 25/06/2009 22:53

Oh Lordy don't be pointing me in the direction of Boden fer gawd's sake

Ahem, 'cos I am bored here is the news round up:

erm not popped yet
jw's had lots of vouchers, no lemon drizzle, wayyy too many strawberries 'n cream and tee's had too many visiting ladies
dawntigga casually reveals self as biker chick
bonzo's gone caber tossing
erm still not popped yet

and
everyone's gone to bed

nite nite

Tee2072 · 25/06/2009 22:54

JW nope, not a midwife attached to SCBU. Just a regular community one. And they are seeing me every few days. And the HV every week for a bit. Its getting very very annoying.

johnworf · 25/06/2009 22:56

if reports are to be believed Michael Jackson is dead.....apparently.

OP posts:
duchesse · 25/06/2009 23:02

It all seems a little speculative but I don't think he's ever that well at the best of times.

johnworf · 25/06/2009 23:15

reports say cardiac arrest but I don't see anyone committing to 'dead' yet.

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 25/06/2009 23:21

oh blimey, many report have him dead

iris66 · 26/06/2009 07:49

Goodness gracious!! Michael Jackson's dead! bad timing for all those concerts he was going to do....

dawntigga · 26/06/2009 09:15

Morning all

The milk lady from the Countess of Chester is coming round to screen me and talk to me about bm donating - wish me luck

Cactus lady had some serious stuff going on and I really felt for her, am a big softy really

Still her dp might be building us a trike so we can take the furry and not so furry family members out to bike rallies

dxx

ermintrude13 · 26/06/2009 09:29

Nothing popped in the night, ladies (except M Jackson's clogs, apologies in advance for any sensitive fans of the late prince of the pop) and am just having the usual rock-hard but painless contractions.

dawntigga's post sounds like it's all in code; I don't understand, must have missed something along the way .

I'm just glad that I can't yet be tempted by the Boden catalogue...

zazizoma · 26/06/2009 09:38

Hello, I didn't even know Boden preview existed, and have spent the morning exploring. Thanks!

johnworf · 26/06/2009 09:39

ermintrude you'd better have had that baby before I get back from Ikea (looks at her watch)

JW Chew those meatballs veeeeery slowly, order some furniture whose components are in five different aisles in the warehouse, choose the queue behind the person who just has 2 blue bags and no trolley but turns out to have bought every tiny item from the marketplace, and you never know
