Have been getting tightenings since friday, just a few at first

saw midwife this morning who said if they become regular i need to phone labour ward

have been having them every few minutes for last few hours. phoned labour ward who said to come in and they will have a look but there isn't much they can do at 20 weeks

I'm waiting for dp to get back, am shaking and terrified

I have nothing constructive to add, but I hope it's a false alarm and everything calms down again for you.

flamingobingo · 11/05/2009 16:53

Keeping fingers crossed for you memoo. You must be so scared. When does DP get back?

ScummyMummy · 11/05/2009 16:54

So sorry you are terrified. Remember it could well be nothing- lots of people have Braxton Hicks from around 20 weeks, for example. Try and keep calm and breathe deeply. How long till dp arrives?

shellmc · 11/05/2009 16:55

Hiya hun, ohh try and stay calm, easy sed than dun i know, It cud just be braxton hicks i started feeling these at around 25 weeks and was petrified, have you been on the go latley as doing too much can make them worse and more intense.
I hope this is all it is, the fact that ur going into hosp is great and at least then u can be checked and see whats happening.
Try not to wurry hun, wen is dp due bk??

StealthPolarBear · 11/05/2009 16:56

Lizzylou · 11/05/2009 17:08

Cazzaben · 11/05/2009 17:10

Hope your ok how very scary for you xxxx

FabulousBakerGirl · 11/05/2009 17:13

Everything crossed.

I had this, the hospital were obsessive about asking me how many weeks and days I was exactly.

Turned out I had a urine infection. I hope that is all it is for you.

Good luck.

me23 · 11/05/2009 17:15

fingers crossed for you.

SemperEadem · 11/05/2009 17:18

Everything crossed here too. I had some strange pains at 18 weeks - felt like cramps etc.

Was monitored, scan etc all fine - midwife put it down to just one of those things and now have 2.1 year old ds.

Good luck

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 11/05/2009 17:21

All the best memoo.x

Owlingate · 11/05/2009 17:23

Memoo even if you are having contractions it can definitely stop again at this stage x Like everyone else says though could be UTI -I had this in first pregnancy and thought I was in labour and it was pain in my kidneys. Thinking of you x

shellmc · 11/05/2009 17:24

Gud luck hun,

Let us know how u get on hun xxx fingers tightly crossed for u!!!

xxxxx

stripeypineapple · 11/05/2009 17:24

Good luck memoo, fingers are tightly crossed

ScummyMummy · 11/05/2009 17:25

Very very very best of luck, memoo.

lastboxoftampons · 11/05/2009 17:28

Best of luck, Memoo, fingers crossed for you! As others have said, it could be BH. Even if it is preterm labour, if your cervix is still closed, they can give you medication to stop the contractions. The fact that you're not spotting/bleeding is a good sign!

WowOoo · 11/05/2009 17:30

Fingers crossed for you too.

Had lots of tightenings around this time (18-22 wks) too. I decided to take it much easier and try to chill more. Seemed to do the trick as I'm 29 wks now and fine.

I was posting on MN and worrying about premature labour or miscarriage as they were so frequent and so tight. Just getting the odd one here and there now so really hope it's the same for you.

JRocks · 11/05/2009 17:35

Wishing you lots of luck, hoping it's something simple. Take care x

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 11/05/2009 17:51

Hope everything settles for you...

BunnyAndJoon · 11/05/2009 17:54

Fingers crossed for you
