please help, i'm 20 weeks and think i'm losing baby

Have been getting tightenings since friday, just a few at first

saw midwife this morning who said if they become regular i need to phone labour ward

have been having them every few minutes for last few hours. phoned labour ward who said to come in and they will have a look but there isn't much they can do at 20 weeks

I'm waiting for dp to get back, am shaking and terrified

Pleased all is well. Take it easy. I had constant UTI's through my pregnancy, was very uncomfortable. Try drinking lots of water and cranberry juice. (not in the same glass......

So glad everything is ok Memoo.
I know it is hard to relax when you've lost pregnancies before but having reached 20 weeks you know the overwhelming likelihood is that you are going to be holding your perfectly healthy baby at some point in the next 22 weeks. Just focus on that and take it easy.

I had contractions at 26weeks and had to stay in but it didn't progress so was allowed home. I had my dd 1 day late than edd. i'm sure you will be fine, apparently uti can start contractions so that is probably most likely, good luck at the hospital

just seen thread - really pleased for you everything ok - i had an "irritated womb" at 23 wks due to uti which caused mild contractions - utis are a pain!

Thats great memoo, Im so glad you and your baby are ok. Strangely enough I had the same thing with my DS at 20 weeks, tightenings and some pain, also told it was a UTI. Hope you are getting lots of rest. (Mumsnetting is rest too!).
