We've now filled up the last thread - and the two before that! Seems that there are a lot of us old girls out there getting ourselves into trouble

So - if you've just found yourself to be with child or have a LO and you've hit (or about to hit - we'll let you sneak in just under the radar!)the big 4 0, then come say Hi!

There is always a spare comfy chair - plenty of cake and many old ladies to listen to your moans! Think of the lovely ladies knitting shreddies - only we're not sporting a blue rinse, but wearing cashmere and kitten heels

Hello regular ladies. I avoided putting FAT, F*cked or Knackered in the title - tempting as it was

I think this may be the end for me here ladies

The dark brown gunge has turned into quite a lot of bright red and today there was quite a large clot in the toilet bowl. I amamzed my boss (female) by going into her office and slamming the door behind me and sitting there crying while she was on the phone to someone. She was very nice (once she had got over the shock), offered to take me somewhere to get checked out, but I don't really think there is much point especially as I have stopped feeling ill .

Would you cancel my scan on Friday or keep it in case there is still stuff there that I need a D&C to clear?

hedgepig · 18/11/2008 14:45

lilibet big hugs petal it doesn't sound too good petal. I would keep the appointment just to make sure one way or the other.

hedgepig · 18/11/2008 14:45

sorry too many petals in that post

weechookles · 18/11/2008 15:01

Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind me interrupting but reading about Mrsb's gas problem reminded me of when my Rayburn broke down in the middle of cooking Xmas dinner. A couple of weeks later after it was supposedly fixed, it caught fire and we had no central heating for the rest of the winter. Also, mention of Nottingham and Trent made me feel a bit homesick as I'm currently living near Bristol and expecting my first baby a 43. Life's never dull...

Tee2072 · 18/11/2008 15:16

lilibet Honey, I would ring up and see if they can see you today. If not, definitely keep the appointment on Friday.

Tee2072 · 18/11/2008 15:16

JW I never had sausages with my Christmas Dinner until I moved to the UK. We just don't have them across the pond!

And I think sausages wrapped in bacon sounds fab! Just not what I am used to!

weechookles · 18/11/2008 15:18

lilibet Really sorry to hear your news and apologies for my appallingly mis-timed interruption. I know that if it was me, I would still have the scan just to be certain.

mrsboogie · 18/11/2008 15:51

oh lilibet I am so sorry that this is happening. hugs But you won't know for sure until you have a scan. You do hear of this happening and things are still ok but even if the worst has happened you would need a scan anyway for the reasons you have suggested.

Thinking of you xx

ermintrude13 · 18/11/2008 15:54

so sorry to hear that, lilibet, but as others have said it's still worth trying to be seen. my sis had a massive bleed at around 10 wks and they - and all the medics - thought that was it but the scan showed otherwise. the docs told her she might have lost a twin... which is all just to say it ain't over till it's over and that getting a scan asap will at least let you know what's happening. Will be thinking of you.

johnworf · 18/11/2008 16:00

lilibet please phone your nearest Early Pregnancy Unit NOW and get them to see you asap. I'm sure if you describe what has happened they'll tell you to get there immediately.

I'm so sorry to hear of what is happening. I've been there myself and a lot of on here have also been there. It is of absolutely no consolation to you right now but we're here for you if you want us

((hug))

jeanjeannie · 18/11/2008 16:04

lilibet huge (((hugs))) but please go and get a scan - I had HUGE bright red clots and stopped feeling ill....both times. It seemed impossible that all would be well - but I was lucky. OK - it certainly does't sound great - BUT you must, must get it checked...please. There will be an Early Pregnancy clinic in your hospital...they usually do a scan the next day. And let us know - we'll all be thinking of you xx

Lillibet i go with the others, this can happen and you can still be pregnant, infact with dd2 i bled fairly early on and sat down with a large scotch to commiserate and was still very much pregnant and then later spent ages worrying about my alcohol intake. Please get checked out and take care.

lilibet · 18/11/2008 19:49

gingermuni I have a g and t as I'm reading this

sorry - probabaly not an appropriate grin !

I'm going to the epu in the morning, I am very certain of what the result is going to be otherwise I wouldn't be drinking.

Thank you very much for all your hugs and support, it's very much appreciated.

Ds2 has been a swine these past two days, it was parents evening tonight and he was refusing to come, I met him after his paper round, he said that he would come, apologised and said he had been so horrible as he had had a couple of bad days !!

On the bright side, the projected one gcse could easily turn into 7 or 8 if he will just get his backside in action over the next 6 months. He has promised to work os fingers crosssed.

I will report in tomorrow and once again thanks. x

johnworf · 18/11/2008 20:00

lilibet let us know how you get on in the morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

I must say, you seem very calm. Much calmer than when I had bleeding. Perhaps the gin is helping

ladymac · 18/11/2008 20:14

lilibet sending big hugs to you. Glad you're off to the EPU, I'm sure they'll take good care of you x

jeanjeannie · 18/11/2008 20:16

lilibet You have your G&T, see what tomorrow brings and I'm pleased Ds2 has calmed down after his bad few days!

HELLO and WELCOME weechookles and huge Congrats - you must be thrilled You are indeed very much invited to sit down and partake of cake and chat with us. We like CAKE very much - even those of us who shouldn't be eating it

I'm assuming you've not got the same Rayburn and that the fire finished off the pesky appliance! Do I take it from the Trent/Nottingham reference you also hail from Robin Hood country? I've been gone so long now that I don't miss it - but really don't get to see my folks enough.

tee I think the technical term for sausages wrapped in bacon is "piggies in blankets" They just make the Xmas dinner MMmmmmm

ladymac · 18/11/2008 20:28

Welcome weechookies. How pregnant are you?

ladymac · 18/11/2008 20:46

Nigella I'm not, though I'd like some of her cash! No Nigella action either from me tonight as my nose started dripping during playgroup (been waking up with a sore throat for the last few days) and a wave of exhaustion washed over me. So I came home and went straight to bed and it was every man for himself as far as dinner was concerned. The sausage toad will have to wait till another night. Elizabeth had some Covent Garden soup with a slice of toast to dip in it, probably her weeks recommended salt intake but she loved it.

jeanjeannie I'd love to meet Iris, she sounds like my kind of girl. There's many a time I'd have loved to have shouted out 'boobies' at the top of my voice

Tee2072 · 19/11/2008 07:31

Good morning all.

I actually slept well, but I am currently in a depressive episode, which I suffer from, and can't seem to get myself to work. Physically I feel fine, but mentally? Not so much.

LadyM I think we should all shout out 'boobies' every now and then. It would keep us young!

johnworf · 19/11/2008 07:57

Morning all. K has confused night with day so was wanting to play all night (after sleeping all day) Not sure how you go about switching this one round. Will speak to MW this morning.

Tee sorry to hear that you're not feeling your usual self. Has something triggered it off or is it something that happens by itself? Hope you feel better soon though

Welcome weechoockles. Pull up a chair, bring a large slab of cake and flick over to the DM website ....

...talking of which, Amy Wine-o looks a horrid mess these days. I do believe she's even had a wash and shown her hair the comb (not used it though)...and as for Gwynnie Paltrow, what's going on with her dresses these days? She's looks like she's been to C&A in the sale

mrsb do I have to come round to yours this morning and thaw you out? Are you all coping with the builders? Has Oscar the cat been banished?

Tee2072 · 19/11/2008 08:02

JW too bad about K. Maybe she thinks she's a vampire?

Its something that just happens JW and part of why I waited to long to have a baby. I am very worried about taking care of a baby when I feel like this, although I do manage to do the things that are absolutely necessary, like feed and wash myself, so I am sure I'll manage to do the same with a baby. And I have a fantastic husband, so he helps a lot.

jeanjeannie · 19/11/2008 08:56

Morning all.
The 'lurgy' has descended upon the jeanjeannietowers and is sat hovering like a cloud ala the Adam's Family Chest feels as though a yak has been sat on it all night whilst I ate a pack of razor blades! And to add to the mix, Verity (who else) was awake from midnight till 3.30 wailing away

JW sorry about Ks night-time antics - I'd have a word with her but clearly I'm not too hot on that front either!

tee sorry you're not tip-top at the moment. Sounds like you've probably got coping strategies in place And don't forget, you are allowed to blame hormones Seriously though, they don't half play havoc with everything.

MIL has Iris today....just myself and the constantly awake child! Off into town - it's sunny and I think the cool air will dislodge my snot and bunged-up ears!

Mornin'

I have nothing to report as the EPU just told me to keep my appointment on Friday or if the bleeding starts again as it was yesterday I now have a ward to contact.

Perhaps I haven't been eating enough cake

I'm quite convinced it's all over and am very calm about it as I'm that type of person and it all did seem a bit unreal.

The 1% of me that does think it may still be there made me say to dh last night "you would have come round to Constance for a middle name, wouldn't you?" [evil laugh]

Tee sorry you're feeling a bit crap, hormones are horrid things, we would all be so much better off without them. Get into your middle trimester when everything should have settled down a bit and hopefully you will get on a bit more of an even keel. Are you on meds?

Weechookles hello and congrats

Okay, new rule...all posts must end the way lilibet's did...BOOBIES I think we'll all feel much better.

Lilibet yes I've been on meds for depression and anxiety for ever and ever! I am on a very mild dose, since I've been trying to conceive for what seems like centuries. I am not really sure what my doc will be able to do, but I have an appointment to see her next Wednesday, which was the first I could get.

I really do hope things improve by 2nd trimester. I am 9 weeks today, so end of 1st Trimester is in site!
