Hi,

I know there is often a thread like this running, but I couldn't find an active one.

I'm 39+6 with my first baby and desperate for him to arrive. I have had quite an achy back/mild period pains on and off for about a week now, but nothing seems to get started. It is so frustrating. Baby is only 1/5 engaged so I'm resigning myself to going overdue. Midwife today told me they don't induce until 12-14 days late. I really don't want to wait that long.

Just wondered if there was anyone else around feeling the same.

Also any tips for getting things started a bit quicker.

well done hatcam - they are popping out like peas now!

My advice re: stitches is have tea tree baths, twice a day if you can manage it. drop about 6 or 8 drops of tea tree oil into a bath. also dab with clean water everytime you go for a wee.
I had infected stitches with DS1, it is no joke. Not only was it painful and horrid, i had to go on antibotics, which affected breast feeding.

Ho hum. I am bored now...... Going to flicks to not but not that enthusiastic. If it doesn't come tonight I am going to stop hibernating and arrange to meet some mates or visit the kids or something. Bored bored bored.

Well done Nuclear and Hatcam...so gald to see that these babies are FINALLY appearing!

Bouncy any news? Been thinking of you...

Lola...race is on...my monies on you!

LolaBella · 29/10/2008 09:16

Due date today
No signs
Anybody else getting sick of people calling/texting daily to enquire of your current status? I almost feel a failure for not producing him already.

Are you booked for a sweep unsami? I'v got one booked for monday and am thinking that i will prob need it as really just don't think my LO will be making an appearance anytime soon.

How is everybody else today?

mabel1973 · 29/10/2008 10:07

Flum- this is the problem once you've had kids...you get a bit of time on your hands and you've forgotten what you used to to do in 'life before kids' and end up twiddling your thumbs and wanting them to come back again!

I have got a few period type pains this morning and am seeing the midwife shortly, although can't imagine she'll say a great deal.

My labour massage oil arrived yesterday and my tea tree oil for afterwards, I am just waitingon my Tens machine, which I am assuming will arrive anyday, then I am sorted!

I feel like this baby is so low it feels like it is going to fall out. I haven't been out anywhere properly since sunday. I feel like a recluse..

UmSami · 29/10/2008 23:05

LolaBella...sorry there's nothing happening with you yet...though for what it's worth my money's still on you...
I'm seeing my Obgyn on Saturday...asked her last sat about a sweep and she says they're not recommended! The differences in practice from country to country! I'm not too bothered as had sweep with DS and it did NOTHING!
Nothing exciting to report, a bit achy, as in period and KILLER heartburn but nothing more...perhaps she has my sense of direction and is trying to head out the wrong way.
Also feeling very grumpy, bit panicy and claustrophobic...is that normal?
Have realised I have no idea what early labour feels like as was induced with ds1.
DH on strike IUKWIM and is finding my foul mood hilarious Sorry for being a grumpy arse...

Birth Announcement

I had my little boy Oscar James on Thurs 30th. He arrived only half a day late as i started in labour on my due date.
Am so pleased with him, he is gorgeous. Will upload a picture shortly.

Umsami any news from you?

UmSami · 01/11/2008 22:43

Lol Nuclear...keep your head down as I'm SERIOUSLY raging these days...mind you, don't wanna mess with you...you have the excuse of post-natal hormones and newborn sleep deprivation now, and are probably much faster on your feet than waddling ol' me!
Saying all of that at sleeping on your stomach...
LolaBella...come on then, pay up! Congrats on Oscar James...I'm sure he is gorgeous...gorgeous name too!
As for me ...booked for induction on Monday, saw Obgyn today and NOTHING is happening...I'm happy to leave it longer but she says that, with history of DS (ind 40+11. delivered 40+12) its unlikely anything will change...so I'm gonna bite bullet...a little as really wanted to avoid induction
BUT VERY as will finally get to meet my DD! I wonder if she looks like her bro..... [UmSami bounces and daydreams!]

Honeymoonmummy · 01/11/2008 22:55

GOD I HATE BEING LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, I'm only 3 days late, but even so... WHEN IS THIS BABY COMING?????

UmSami · 01/11/2008 23:03

Honeymoonmummy were due on the 29th too? Was starting to feel like i'm the only one left!
Hope things get moving for us both!

waitingtogivebirth · 03/11/2008 11:42

Sorry I've been a bit slow to update.

I went into labour last Sunday (29th) and ended up having my baby boy by emergency cs.

I am recovering well now though and getting used to being a mummy.

Congrats to all those who've had their babies this week and good luck to everyone else.

Congrats waiting!
Late update for me too: I had a gorgeous baby Justine on Wednesday, born by emergency c-section as labour kept stopping even despite 2 induction attempts.
She came 6 days late but is well worth the wait!

LolaBella · 03/11/2008 18:47

Huge congrats to Waiting no longer and Bouncy. It's fab being a new mum but so so tiring.
Any news Usami?? and Honeymoonmummy??

mabel1973 · 05/11/2008 08:27

congrats to lolabella and waitingtogivebirth (surely a namechange is due now! )

Anyone else popped?

I have got a whole 2 weeks til my due date...am so fed up now.
I am not sleeping well at all, although having said that I have had a real burst of energy over the last few days, I am hoping this is significant! But nothing in the way of contractions.
I have resorted to evening primrose oil to see if that does anything.

mabel1973 · 05/11/2008 08:27

oh and congrats bouncycastle!
