Hi just wanted to say i had no or very few movements over the last week and im due on the same day as you, 17 weeks today. I was not concerned about that at all, some people don't even feel anything till over 20 weeks.

Anyway my baby has started kicking again over last few days, but just wanted to say I didn't panic either. Midwife told me that once over 24 weeks should seek advice if not felt 10 movements a day, up until then I would not be overly concerned myself.

Fab news - so glad that all is well with you and babe!

Apparently if heartbeat is over 140 then it's a girl. Not sure if this is based on scientific proof or just an old wives' tail though!

missingwine · 17/06/2008 21:00

Oops - I meant old wives' tale!

mad4mybaby · 17/06/2008 21:09

thats what ive read but my gp rekons the other way. The h/b sounded so much slower than i remember ds's. It was around 140 and at one point went up to 180 which she reasured me was normal to happen!

Well, I'm having a boy and mine has been between 110 and 120 throughout, although I'm sure that doesn't help!

thats the trouble with wifes tale! Guess i will just have to wait 4 weeks (!!) till next scan!
