Any news yet?

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 17:56

sorry guys have had probs with comp. No news, im seeing gp tomorrow now and will actually ask her to listen to h/b.

i didnt feel worried over the w/e and the hospitals are over half hour away and i just couldnt get there anyway.

Dont think its anything to do with it but over the w/e ive noticed my bump bigger on the right (next to belly button) not hugely but when i look down theres a good prob 1-2cm diff, like it now. It cant be the baby as its still quite small? Its also soft. Placenta??

Good luck with GP & keep us posted! My bump is bigger just to the left of my belly button and the midwife said baby is curled up on his side (head down) like a hedgehog and he's been in that position for about 4 weeks now. He needs to shift round a bit soon though - I'm due next Friday

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 18:31

that sounds cute and he sounds very contended! But yes, tell him to move!

TBH I can't believe you haven't had the baby checked out. You were clearly worried enough to post but haven't taken any advice.

I hope your baby is okay.

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 19:26

i posted because i didnt know IF i should be worried. I rang the day assesment unit who said nothing to worry about, couldnt get to A&E at the w/e. My gp wasnt in today so im going tomorrow.

I was told any change in a baby's movments should be checked out which is why I advised you to go. If you are happy that all is fine, then good.

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 19:37

that the trouble as every gets told different things which doesnt seem right as one rule should apply to every one during pregnancy (health permitting) ive been told different things to when i was pg 2 years ago!

OP posts:
NotABanana · 16/06/2008 19:38

You asked if you should be worried, the majority of us said get checked, you haven't as is your right as you obviously feel all is okay. As long as baby is okay, that is all that matters.

fifisworld · 16/06/2008 21:53

Is there anyone who could sit with your ds whie you go, it may be nothing but it really shouldnt be left, you need to be checked out just to make sure.
When i was pg with ds1 he used to have quiet days but i had a doppler and if i couldnt get him moving i used to check with that. No-one will think your stupid and you'll prob be seen straight away you wont have to sit in a&e...its not worth risking not going if that makes sense

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 22:01

im seeing my gp in the morning, i cant go to a&e now as every one i know has young dc's themselves in bed asleep. If i had pain and/or was bleeding id have gone to hosp friday without even posting.

thanks though

He probably is just kicking into your back and you can't feel it..they are still fairly small at 16 weeks and most people only just start feeling movements at that stage, let us know what happens tomorrow

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 22:07

17 weeks tomorrow! Thanks fifi will do

omg mad4

I have just seen this ... I cant believe you are being so calm about this

I speak from experience when I say lack of movement is not something to be taken lightly..

I dont want to freak you but once you have felt movement and it stops ... its not a good sign

I really pray your baby is ok ..

mad4mybaby · 16/06/2008 22:12

its not that im particualry calm, im just trying not to freak out. Like i said before if the day assesment unit hadnt said it was fine and id had pain or bleeding i wouldnt have posted on here wouldve been at hospital. My bump has also noticably got bigger in the last week.

Anyway, gp tomorrow can put my mind at rest once and for all

well please keep us posted..

will be thinking of you

beeny · 16/06/2008 22:19

Good luck will be thinking of you

BlueDragonfly · 16/06/2008 22:21

you know you don't have to see your own GP, any GP can access your records.

I really do think you should have been checked out properly(saw this the other day) but obviously that decision lies with you.

ilovemydog · 16/06/2008 22:43

Hi - hope it goes well when you get examined.

I had a scare when I was 32 weeks. No movements despite the usual methods. I got it checked out and everything was fine - just the position which he seemed to stay in until week 36.

Ambi · 17/06/2008 14:22

good luck, thinking of you.
I was about 23 weeks before I first felt anything at all.

mad4mybaby · 17/06/2008 14:30

Baby is fine. It wasfacing backwards and i have quite a bit of fluid apparantly. GP thinks its a girl becuase of the heartbeat which is quite exciting to think about

mad4mybaby · 17/06/2008 16:09
