I am only 10 weeks pregnant but since the day I found out I have had this overwhelming gut instinct I’m having a boy. To the point I actually have to remind myself sometimes there is every chance I am not lol.
Has anyone else experienced this before, were you right or in for a surprise?
Just to add I am completely non biased and have no preference - lucky enough to already have one of each! But the funny thing is I had this exact feeling with my first, who was a boy (even remember driving to the gender scan with my husband saying we’re just going for them to confirm it’s a boy not to tell us what we’re having). With my second I had no real gut feeling at all, we ended up with our beautiful girl!

Obviously I know there’s no real 100% way of knowing and no science to this. I’m just asking for a bit of fun I find it so intriguing 😊 Do you think there’s something to a mothers instinct?

Thought my first was a boy - girl

Second thought boy as had very different symptoms- girl

Third thought this one definitely a girl severe sickness - boy

So wrong with all of mine 😂

WithASpider · 13/04/2025 12:30

First yes, felt girl - born girl.
Second I don't remember, had a 1yo! Scan said girl and was correct.
Third was told girl at 20 weeks but didn't feel they were right - Boy!

Bigparrot · 13/04/2025 12:45

I knew at the 6 week scan. The sonographer brought out the photo and without even thinking said 'he's so small'

He was a boy.

Yes. At about 16 weeks we went and bought a pram, inside of the hood was purple and flowery- I was totally confident that I was having a girl and thankfully I was right!

Amyjade2022 · 04/05/2025 21:33

Well… I was SO wrong 😅
girl on the way

Aw Congrats! 🎀

Flopsy145 · 04/05/2025 21:48

Yes with my first DD, the minute I found out I was pregnant I knew it was a girl. Second DC I wasn't sure, it was a DS

CurlewKate · 04/05/2025 22:07

I did. I was wrong!

Pinkdreams · 04/05/2025 22:08

Yea and I was completely wrong, I was convinced it was a boy and it was a girl

WhatMe123 · 04/05/2025 22:12

I was wrong both times 😂

rosegarden95 · 04/05/2025 22:51

Yes and I was right!!

Blueplu · 05/05/2025 17:09

Convinced I was having a boy….we’re having a girl 😅

TweetingHurricane · 05/05/2025 17:17

Yes I was right both times, I had dreams about them ♥️

Barleycat · 05/05/2025 17:22

I did. I knew my first child was a boy. Had to have an emergency scan at 18 weeks, they told me he was a girl so I told them to check again. He's a man now. With my second son I thought he would be a boy but didn't have that strong sense of knowing that I had with DS1

Blingismything · 05/05/2025 17:30

Yes, it was the opposite gender.

Yellowgoldsunshine · 05/05/2025 20:05

Yes I did and so did all my friends and family. I just had a very strong gut feeling and after the 12 week scan I was like yep it's definitely what I think it is! I was so sure that I would have been shocked if it was the other gender. Turns out I was right as were all my friends and family! all the old wives tales matched up too, literally every single one. I have a very strong gut feeling that if I am blessed with another pregnancy that it will be the same gender as my first.

Babyenroute · 05/05/2025 20:05

Bigearringsbigsmile · 12/04/2025 21:14

Yes I knew 100% that I was having boys.
I didn't find out until the birth but I just felt it in my bones!

Me too!

LeBonBon · 05/05/2025 21:01

I'm 2/2 🥰

I will say I am a little but superstitious and follow some of the old wives' tales (I blame my DM!!)

But with my DD (before my positive test), we were driving along and three magpies flew across the front of the car. If you don't know the song, it goes "One for sorrow, Two for joy. Three for a girl, Four for a boy..."

I turned to DH and said I think we've done it this month and it's a girl! He thought I'd gone mad. She's now two.

With my current pregnancy (39+5), I didn't have any early signs and my symptoms were near identical except I just had a gut feeling it was a boy. DH convinced it was a girl. He's definitely a boy and has shown us his bits at every scan 🙈😆

TwinklyNight · 05/05/2025 21:14

I was wrong everytime!

Bridestone · 05/05/2025 21:16

Yes, very strong. I was completely wrong.

RosesAndHellebores · 05/05/2025 21:20

Nope.
First birth: I was convinced I was having a girl. I had a boy. We were thrilled.
Second birth: we knew the baby was v v ill from 20 weeks. We knew the baby was 99% unlikely to survive - I had no firm view. I had and lost a boy at 27 weeks.
Third birth: I was convinced I was having a boy. I had a girl. We were thrilled.

I never had morning sickness, my bumps were all the same.

Thesleepykettle · 06/05/2025 03:46

I did with my first, so much so, we decorated the bedroom blue! I had such a strong instinct! Not at all with the second 🤔

hereismydog · 06/05/2025 03:59

Yep, we didn’t find out until he was born, but I just knew all along that he was a boy! DP thought we were having a girl, but I had no doubt that he would be a boy.

Only thing I really remember from the emergency C-section was DP’s face appearing back next to me after watching them lift him out and squeaking “you were right!” through his tears 😁

SapporoBaby · 06/05/2025 05:58

My sister was convinced hers was a girl. She had named picked out etc. It was a boy lol.

WildCherryBlossom · 06/05/2025 09:12

I was right first time, wrong second time. After that I waited to find out at the scan 😂
