Did anyone else have a strong intuition on gender before knowing?

I am only 10 weeks pregnant but since the day I found out I have had this overwhelming gut instinct I’m having a boy. To the point I actually have to remind myself sometimes there is every chance I am not lol.
Has anyone else experienced this before, were you right or in for a surprise?
Just to add I am completely non biased and have no preference - lucky enough to already have one of each! But the funny thing is I had this exact feeling with my first, who was a boy (even remember driving to the gender scan with my husband saying we’re just going for them to confirm it’s a boy not to tell us what we’re having). With my second I had no real gut feeling at all, we ended up with our beautiful girl!

Obviously I know there’s no real 100% way of knowing and no science to this. I’m just asking for a bit of fun I find it so intriguing 😊 Do you think there’s something to a mothers instinct?

Yes. I didn't care what I was having, but just "knew" that I was having a little girl with dark curly hair.

I had a boy with straight red hair

outside1inside · 12/04/2025 21:38

I knew my second would be a boy for 6 years before he was convinced. There was never a doubt in my mind.

Enko · 12/04/2025 21:39

I knew dd1 my first was a girl I just knew. And she was. I didn't have this knowledge with her 4 siblings. Not sure what was different but w her I knew..

SueSuddio · 12/04/2025 21:39

Always imagined I'd have a little girl. About 2 months into my pregnancy, whilst driving along a little voice inside said 'what if it's a boy?' Then I thought with utter certainty, it's a boy!

When I told a good friend I was pregnant, we both said 'it's a boy' at the same time.

The scan confirmed this and was no surprise, I'd kept telling DH it was definitely a boy.

Thought I'd have a boy next time too, no little voice though this time round, so I guess that was more of a hunch which turned out to be right.

Overthebow · 12/04/2025 21:40

I have one of each and I knew both times which they were and was right.

Catrionablocke · 12/04/2025 21:40

Yes, I knew absolutely 100% I was having a girl.
He wasn't a girl!

DinoGD · 12/04/2025 21:40

Me! I was absolutely convinced I was having a boy - only picked boy names, bought a dinosaur outfit, 12 week scan all pointed to a boy too, speaking to the bump and referring to it as 'he'. Did that for about 3 months until the 20 week scan when I had a shock and found out baby was a girl!! Completely threw me and I was in disbelief until I gave birth and saw for myself 😂

Allswellthatendswelll · 12/04/2025 21:41

Yep both times. My Mum has predicted all her grandchildren so far as well.... But you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right each time 😂

WhenYouSayNothingAtAll · 12/04/2025 21:42

Yes. I knew she was a girl as soon as I saw the two lines on the stick and I was right. They wouldn’t tell us at the 20 week scan and I had a private one much later , she was a bit too big and uncooperative so the guy said he’s 90% she was a girl. Told OH he could’ve given me the money , as I was 100% sure.Grin

everythingeverything1981 · 12/04/2025 21:52

It's crazy actually I never went to a hospital that would tell you the sex. Although the least two times the sonographer went from "it" to he "he" halfway through lol

SoftPillow · 12/04/2025 21:57

I was another who absolutely knew I was having a girl. Would have put £10k on it.

And of course; I was totally wrong 😀

Fingernailbiter · 12/04/2025 21:58

No.

WhatMe123 · 12/04/2025 21:59

Both times I was wrong 😂

WeirdNeighbour · 12/04/2025 22:00

Dreamed of each, correctly. Seem to recall reading pregnant women get the sex right under hypnosis, 8 out 10 times.

Mossstitch · 12/04/2025 22:05

Yes with all 3, I even said with the last one that this is going to be like first one (character/temperment wise), I was correct. Middle one says they are like twins years apart😂

Darcy86 · 12/04/2025 22:10

Yes I knew in my bones my first was a boy from probably around the first scan, didn't find out until he got here but knew, and was right. Wanted to find out with my second, mainly as I was sick of people already commenting on how much they bet I was hoping for a girl! But a couple of nights before the scan I had a dream where the sonographer told me I was having another boy and then somehow I knew the dream was right, and it was.

BumbleBeegu · 12/04/2025 22:13

Yes…completely and utterly convinced I was having a boy. This was 35 years ago when sex scans were not offered.

My daughter was, therefore, a huge surprise 🤣

Bbq1 · 12/04/2025 22:19

Yes. I was Right. Just Couldn't visualise a girl, i knew we'd have a beautiful baby boy.

Bubblebubblepoppop · 12/04/2025 22:21

Yes and I was wrong both times lol.

BabyRuthless · 12/04/2025 22:22

Yes, felt strongly that I was carrying a girl, even had a dream about it. All my family felt girl too. No idea why, just gut feeling. I didn't mind either way so it wasn't preference pushing me. My first child and I'd like one of each (in fact probably preferred a boy first). I have a son!😄

Twinkletoes10 · 12/04/2025 22:22

I was extremely sick with hv for my first, couldn't keep anything down. My dm was the same with my dsis & I so that convinced me I was having a girl. I was right. Second I had nausea but no sickness so I thought it was a boy. Right again 🤗 We didn't find out until birth though so I had to wait to see if my predictions were correct lol. I was over the moon both times and to have one of each.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 12/04/2025 22:25

Yes I did and I was correct each time.. 3 boys
DS1 is now 31 and we were not told then, but I just knew.

MLC27 · 12/04/2025 22:27

Yes I knew he was a boy the second I saw those 2 pink lines - I was right!

CharlieAndMoose · 12/04/2025 23:18

I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant with a surprise, FTM. From the beginning I was certain it was a boy. But then my DH kept saying he's sure it's a girl, so I began to doubt my intuition. However, I recently dreamt about giving birth and the baby was a boy in the dream. And at a recent scan I am certain the sonographer referred to something on the screen as being "his" feature. So, I'm back to being convinced it's a boy! I'll let you know in 8 weeks if I'm right 🤣

Vpitta01 · 13/04/2025 01:21

I knew my first was a girl because I had a dream years before that I had 2 daughters close in age. 36 weeks pregnant atm with my second (eldest is 18 months) and definitely know it's a girl based on that dream. My instinct hasn't been wrong so far.
