Very faint line at 11DPO but I'm optimistic! Going off my ovulation date I'm due on the second of August. DS1 had a due date of the fourth of August as well lol. I hope to see many of you come across from the TTC threads x

@thatmistylight Congratulations! Hope you are doing well. That's exciting, your first and twins! How are you feeling?

I’m feeling good thank you. I had awful morning sickness in the first trimester but that’s going now, I’m just quite tired. How are you feeling?

We are telling family today that we’re expecting. I feel so nervous I’ve hardly slept!.

thatmistylight · 10/03/2025 15:38

How is everyone feeling? We told our family on Saturday, and have a scan booked in a few weeks to find out the sex. I was initially against finding out, but I’m really eager to know what we’re having.

My initial birth choice was a home water birth, but as it’s twins that seems to be almost completely out the window!. I’m talking to a midwife friend of mine to see what the best way to proceed is as I know the doctors will most likely want to induce me at 37 weeks and probably do a C-section, which I really would rather avoid. As excited as I am about having twins I feel quite out of control, it feels like medical professionals have gone from seeing me as a person to seeing me as a medical emergency almost overnight.

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well.
I managed to hear baby's heartbeat at my 16 week appt with my consultant. Pregnancy in general is stressful but being type 2 diabetic, its even more so I'm lucky to have a scan each month. Currently taking metformin and insulin every night which is a stress.
I also feel like I've felt flutters but also not sure. It's my 3rd so I should but pregnancies are so different hey its hard to tell. Hoping to feel consistent moves in the next few weeks.

Has anyone had any weird changes? I am one to only drink water during meals and all day everyday. However since 6 weeks when I would drink water, it would leave a horrible metallic taste in my mouth, it was just awful so since then I've only been drinking sparkling water. Also had a loss of appetite and I'm a foodie!

20 week appt seems so far away! Is anyone going to fine out the gender or does anyone already know?

Not water but I can't have milk now because it leaves a sour taste :( had to switch to lacto-free which helps.

20 week scan at the beginning of April and I'm getting anxious again! How about you? And yes we're excited to find out the gender ASAP, everyone's been asking too!

Hey ladies, hoping I can join on..

I’m currently 17+6 with my second baby.. had a very nervous pregnancy so far as I’ve had recurrent miscarriages since our DC, so I’m kind of counting down to the 20 week scan (1st week in April).

Hope you’re all doing well xx

Welcome! I hope your 20 week scan goes well and helps to put your mind at rest a bit

Blueskies4 · 19/03/2025 13:24

@thatmistylight thank you 🙏🏼 I think the 20 week scan is a nice milestone isn’t it

Tafal · 19/03/2025 13:45

Hi everyone, hope it's not too late to join!
17 weeks with baby number 3 and anxiously awaiting my 20 week scan which is in a couple of weeks. I've had minimal symptoms for the past few weeks which has made me a little anxious. I am definitely feeling a little bump now (has been hiding behind pre-existing wobble up until now, lol) and the past few days I think I may have felt a little bit of movement. I just can't wait for my scan as it feels like such a milestone to reach!

I definitely feel like I’ll be able to breathe easier when I get to the 20 week scan. We have a private gender scan booked for the end of this week, which I’m really looking forward to. I wasn’t going to find out the sex but now that I know we’re having twins I think it’ll make me feel a bit more prepared!.

Hi all,

Hope you’re all keeping well and it’s not too late for me to join too?

I’m 21 weeks today, expecting in August - a little girl. She was an absolute fidget bum during her 20 week scan last week, but thankfully we managed to get all the measurements in the end!

This is also my first pregnancy, so I've been a little anxious too as I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially movement wise. I've started to recognise the odd swish/flutter and roll of movement, which became more frequent around 20 weeks.

Welcome and congrats! Glad your scan went well. I’m 19+5, first pregnancy too, so I get what you mean about not knowing what movement will feel like. It’s like, was that the baby, or is it gas 😂 Do you get like a weird heavy feeling in the bottom of your belly?

Hi all 👋

I hope everyone's doing well!

I was wondering if anyone else here is under consultant led care as opposed to midwife led, and whether you feel that your wishes are being listened to?

I had an emergency c section during my last birth after being induced and am pretty desperate to avoid repeating either aspect! My consultant didn't seem interested at all and wanted me to book an elective section for a week before my EDD.

I'm overweight, and will turn 35 the month before baby is due which are the risk factors that lead to consultant involvement.

interested to know if anyone else is having the same experience and how you're handling it? I very much felt worn down to accepting the interventions I had last time, and the idea of being pestered for the next 4 months is making me want to just give up now and accept my fate! 😭

bnmshortcut · 04/05/2025 20:03

Hi can I join you all? I didn’t know that there was a thread for us due in August!. I’m due on the 10th with our fourth and final baby, we will have 4 under 4 for 1 month!. Would be lovely to chat to you all :)

Blueplu · 05/05/2025 17:15

Hi,

im due in August with a little girl. First baby 💓
I’m high risk due to an autoimmune disorder which has meant a couple of mc’s. I am also 41 so ancient 🤣

@LittleOtter76
I am consultant led. It’s been an interesting experience to say the least. I feel listened to most of the time but I also find the consultant very logical and can feel dismissive. I always take my husband with me because I feel overwhelmed going it alone.
my consultant is cold and not compassionate in the least. However all the midwives I’ve dealt with have been amazing ❤️

i have decided to have a c section as they said the alternative was induction (nope!)

I don’t have a date for the c section but they want baby out a little earlier.

good luck everyone! X

Congratulations! A little girl, how lovely!!. I’m not consultant led but I have opted for a home birth, as I did with all of my births, and like you I noticed that the doctors/consultants can be quite cold and logical. My midwives have always been brilliant. From what I’ve been told an ELCS can be such a lovely experience, I hope all goes well for you.

Hi, I’m consultant led for the same reason and am 34, so similar age too :) Currently 25 weeks.

Sorry to hear about your past experiences, that doesn’t sound great. I haven’t met with mine yet so I don’t really know what to expect! Everyone so far seems very focused on me making my own decisions / birth plan.

Hello, week 26+5, I've woken up feeling pretty low and just seem to need to cry. It's probably all hormones but I can't shake it today. Just wondered if anyone else feels like this? Randomly low? Then probably after a couple of days fine like it never happened. I just don't know what to do on these days.

Sorry to hear that, how are you feeling now? It’s worth raising with your midwife or GP if it happens again, they might be able to help.

ElRo28 · 02/06/2025 09:27

Thanks. Yeah in touch with the midwife about it. Feeling ok now. The only thing I can compare it to is PMS but extra. Thought that would all stop without periods!

I think there’s lots of hormones flying about, plus all the changes to your body, it’s a weird time!

ElRo28 · 31/08/2025 09:43

Hello, just wondered if anyone else's August baby is looking like they're going to be a September baby instead? 4 days overdue no sign yet

Anon1363847291 · 31/08/2025 12:50

Yes also overdue! Feeling disappointed and impatient!

ElRo28 · 31/08/2025 15:05

I didn't know it could feel so long. If anyone else was overdue but had their baby i'd love some tips. I'd like to avoid induction but at the same time would like him out.
