Very faint line at 11DPO but I'm optimistic! Going off my ovulation date I'm due on the second of August. DS1 had a due date of the fourth of August as well lol. I hope to see many of you come across from the TTC threads x

I don’t think there is but we can stick to this one! How are you doing? I’m 12w today eek not had my dating scan yet though.

moanaom · 13/02/2025 14:05

Hi everyone, I'm almost 15 weeks 😦which I can hardly believe, it's going very quickly. Had my dating scan a couple of weeks ago which was lovely.

Has anyone started buying anything yet? I don't know when to start - currently working on clearing out our flat to make space!

JuneySunshine · 13/02/2025 14:15

Ah congrats @moanaom I'm 14+2 and same, I feel like like December and January were such a slog but now it's flying by.

We're baby number 2 so it's definitely not about buying things. So far I've just dug out my maternity clothes (although lots are the wrong season as my last was a March baby). Also thinking organising and clearing out are the first steps here. We'll probably buy some extra bits, especially if we find out we're having a boy at 20w, but not til later on. Are you planning to find out?

moanaom · 13/02/2025 14:22

@JuneySunshine Ahh yes that totally makes sense if it's your second!

We've decided not to find out - I think I might find it quite hard, but it's for the best as we don't really want an influx of pink/ blue! 😆 - and there's no way I could keep the secret haha.

We have no preference anyway, especially as it's our first and it's taken us a lot of fertility treatment to get here!

JuneySunshine · 13/02/2025 14:24

@moanaom Thrilled for you, a little surprise! We didn't find out with our first which was so lovely. But practicalities (and thinking we can better prepare our little girl for the arrival) taking over a bit now.

Newmumtobetwentytwentytwo · 14/02/2025 17:55

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all doing ok.

I’m 13 weeks and 2 days with my second and although I feel a lot better than I did, I still feel nauseous and have headaches- I was hoping to feel so much better by now, has anyone had experience of improving later in the second trimester? X

Hey, I’m 13+4 and still having days where I feel nauseous. With my daughter it had definitely settled by now but with my son I think it went on until about 16/17 weeks. I hope yours eases soon.

Thanks very much - hope it all clears for us soon! X

Hi all! Nice to be here. Currently 13w +1 with baby number 2. Had our dating scan last week which was lovely.

Not buying anything just yet as we're hoping to move house before the arrival. Although it's a second we have an age gap and so will be replacing lots of stuff.

I'm still very much in the nausea stage which doesn't seem to be backing off any time soon. Lost quite a bit of weight since the positive test and it's getting harder to have the energy to get through the day with not being able to keep much down. Definitely stopped being sick before this point last time so hoping I don't have long to go!

congrats everyone :)

RG84 · 20/02/2025 15:49

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. There was another August club but not sure if that is active anymore.
Has anyone thought about when they are planning to tell work?

LittleOtter76 · 20/02/2025 19:03

Hi RG84,

There was but I think there's a limit to how many pages a thread can go on for? last time I was on one some of the parents to be created a WhatsApp group to carry on the chat after that which was nice.

In terms of telling work, I'm in no rush. Have until 26 weeks formally anyway, and last time I felt like I was shelved immediately after breaking the news (diff employer). I think generally the advice is to do it before you obviously show, but as early as you're comfortable doing if there is a risk element to the job/location that needs to be mitigated. Such a minefield isn't it!

Not telling many at all until we've told
our little girl, and I'm waiting for the results of the screening tests for that.. hopefully not too long!

WorriedAboutArthur · 22/02/2025 07:01

@RG84 I told mine around 8 weeks because I’m a nurse and there are risk assessments that have to be completed. There was also a lot of flu/ covid so needed to protect myself/ baby.

RG84 · 22/02/2025 09:52

Thanks ladies for your advice. Part of me wants to and part of me doesn't want to tell them just yet. They'll be a lot of judgement as I returned back to work from my previous maternity leave in December 24. I have until end of April to advise them by law. I shouldn't care about what people think though I know.

JuneySunshine · 22/02/2025 20:56

Hi @RG84
Completely personal preference. I'm 15+4 and spoke to my boss on Monday.
I think last pregnancy I waited a couple of weeks longer but I now trusted that everything would be handled fairly etc. and I'm a bit more senior now so it gives me more time to plan handovers etc for my work.
Also, I'm enormous! Definitely a second pregnancy thing. I work from home but it would have been necessary before our next face to face meeting to avoid awkwardness 😅
Hope it goes well for you.

RG84 · 23/02/2025 11:49

@JuneySunshine thanks for your feedback as well.
I know right, this is my 3rd so I'm sooo much bigger. I work from home but occasionally go to the office, so far no one has said anything although I wear baggy clothes. I need to time how I tell my work as I also want to request enhanced maternity pay with HR. I want to attend my 20 week scan first and ensure all is fine first. It's always so stressful before scans due to a previous MC and having diabetes. So I've decided once I've been to my scan I will then schedule a meeting with HR and tell my team when I see them. I'm already expecting a lot of sarcastic comments but just need to try and ignore them. So sad I work with such people.

moanaom · 26/02/2025 12:18

How's everyone doing?

I'm 16 + 4 now and I think I might be just starting to feel some little tiny movements - but I'm not sure. It's my first so I don't know quite what I'm looking out for!

Anyone else feeling anything yet?

JuneySunshine · 26/02/2025 12:45

Hey @moanaom

16+1 here and just had my 16 week appointment and heard a little heartbeat 😊
I haven't mentioned to anyone but my partner, as they might think I'm mad, but I've been feeling movement for a weirdly long time. When I was having my 12 week scan, actually 13+4 I could see on the screen and feel them jostling about! Didn't feel my first until about 17 weeks I think but this time I can feel lurching, and last night I felt like a little airpunch while I was eating dinner, baby likes pizza 🍕😅

How would you describe what you're feeling? Flutters or bubbles has nenve really done it for me but I suppose it's different for everyone.

moanaom · 26/02/2025 13:10

@JuneySunshine amazing! They didn't use the doppler at my 16 week appointment - I was a bit disappointed tbh but I guess they want to make sure they can find it when they do it!

I would say it's more like lurching than flutters and bubbles haha. When I was hoovering the other day I thought I felt them tumbling over but it could have just been that I leaned forward too fast or something!😂

Sometimes when I'm watching TV I've felt a little twitch but it's so tiny I can't be sure.

JuneySunshine · 26/02/2025 13:31

@moanaom It's so exciting! I'm sure that's the start of it. It was good to be reminded today not to expect regular regular movement until 25 weeks though. I'd forgotten it was that long.

That's a shame about the doppler, they do always do the disclaimer about 'don't worry if we can't hear it' kind of thing, so I suppose if they don't feel confident in finding it they don't want to worry you 😊

KINEI · 26/02/2025 15:29

I’m 16 weeks and I have been feeling movements for a few weeks now too ☺️ this is my second child and I remember it being around 16 weeks the first time….

RG84 · 26/02/2025 16:09

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well.
I managed to hear baby's heartbeat at my 16 week appt with my consultant. Pregnancy in general is stressful but being type 2 diabetic, its even more so I'm lucky to have a scan each month. Currently taking metformin and insulin every night which is a stress.
I also feel like I've felt flutters but also not sure. It's my 3rd so I should but pregnancies are so different hey its hard to tell. Hoping to feel consistent moves in the next few weeks.

Has anyone had any weird changes? I am one to only drink water during meals and all day everyday. However since 6 weeks when I would drink water, it would leave a horrible metallic taste in my mouth, it was just awful so since then I've only been drinking sparkling water. Also had a loss of appetite and I'm a foodie!

20 week appt seems so far away! Is anyone going to fine out the gender or does anyone already know?

I’m also only living off sparkling water as can’t face anything else!
I’ve definitely been feeling some very low down movements since before my 12 week scan, the sonographer said it was more common as this is baby number 3 as well. It just feels like bubbly cramps.
I’m so big already! Look the same as when I as about 25 weeks pregnant with my first and I’m only 15+3 🙈. Obviously not much of it is baby yet but I’m scared about how big I’ll get! I’m only 5’4”

RG84 · 27/02/2025 21:24

@WorriedAboutArthur it's crazy how normal water makes us feel so sick! I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)
Wow before 12 weeks, that's lovely. I'm not even sure what I'm feeling but it's definitely not consistent. Oh goodness I know how you feel, it's like the more you have kids the more bigger you get. I look around 7 months pregnant and I'm 17 weeks! I also worry how i'll look at 9 months! 🤪
Yep same, I'm 5'2..maybe even less.
Love that we are in the same boat!

JuneySunshine · 05/03/2025 17:58

17 weeks today 😊
Is anyone feeling a lot of growing, stretching which can sometimes feel like pains? Pretty sure it's normal as my app said baby will triple in weight between 16 and 19 weeks but not comfortable all the same.

thatmistylight · 06/03/2025 17:09

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing okay. I hope I can join you? My due date is the 9th September, so I was on the September thread, but on my scan on Monday I found out that we’re expecting twins so I will give birth in August. This is my first pregnancy so everything is brand new to me.
