With ds2 I knew I was pregnant due to the fatigue. I could have slept through my pregnancy with ds1. I was about two weeks along when I knew I was pregnant. It was confirmed at 3 weeks when I had to put tomatoes and ketchup (tomato products are my pregnancy craving) on everything. Then on the day my period was due I bought a test and some prenatal vitamins.

HairyToe · 16/04/2008 14:47

Just got a BFP today so everything very fresh in my mind.

Period was due yesterday. From Fri(4 days before) - strong period-type cramps and backache, nausea, tiredness, very sore boobs. Then Saturday evening/Sunday almighty case of 'PMT' - felt awful and even more depressed as sure period on way. Cramps continued throughout Monday and yesterday (due date) along with 'wet' feeling in my bits and creamy discharge. Every time I went to the loo took deep breath as I was convinced period had arrived. Was still convinced even as I did the test yesterday afternoon and it said positive. Positive again this morning. Now (at 4weeks + 1 !) still nauseous but all the other 'symptoms' pretty mild.

Thing is I have had all these symptoms before in the run up to period day when I wasn't pregnant(though to be fair never for as long and never as bad).

cece · 16/04/2008 16:07

oh hairytoe I have the creamy discharge - thought it was pre curser to af... Oh and had pains this afternoon - also precurser to af... and I have been very snappy with dh... and I have been feeling tired and not myself..

we'll see...

I had spots on my neck and chest from about a week after conception, remember wondering if it was a symptom and then banishing the foolish thought. They have not gone away but spread to my upper back too (yuck) so I'm guessing it was a sign of hormone changes after all.

beakas · 16/04/2008 17:25

have just remembered another symptom i had was night sweats (nice) convinced myself I was going through an early menopause as it went on for a couple of weeks..my god the things that have gone through my mind since finding out, am surprised all my hair hasn't fallen out by now..

tartanchatterbox · 16/04/2008 18:27

I am in exactly the same position as you - same story, but this time it'd be number 5, and I am much more reticent about a positive result. My one and only post was me at the end of my tether!
I'm due on friday morning and have been feeling a little under the weather and exhausted. Could be stress though as I am under loads of pressure cause I am off to Oz to see sick G'ma and Dad (found out 2 weeks ago - taa mum!)
I think the key for me was the extreme tiredness, which is more than the nausea. Are you feeling sick when your stomach is empty? If food makes it go away, then I would say its a good sign! for you anyway!
Gotta go hubby just arrived home and don't want him to suspect anything!

chocciedooby · 16/04/2008 20:50

Cece and Hairytoe - I will remember not to be eating a yogurt when reading stuff on Mumsnet! .

I had some of that discharge this evening as well .

Still have pains. Been quite strong today but have calmed down a little.

Yes, food does make my nausea go away but only for a very very little while. Maybe thats how I got as big as a horse the last 2 times I was Pg!!

Period pains, tender nips and weeing alot here

IceCube · 16/04/2008 21:29

A week before my period was due I had an exercise class that normally tires me but this time I was worn out for 3 three days, felt like I hadn't slept for a week!

Then got what I thought was extreme PMT, threw a glass on the floor in frustration one day and sobbed uncontrollable the next when my cat started rubbing round my legs and being affectionate

Was very releived to find I was pregnant and had good reasons for all the extreme feelings.

alibag · 16/04/2008 21:34

Both times before I knew I was pregnant I had a dizzy spell for no apparent reason (a la Vivien Leigh)... other symptoms felt like usual PMT (extremely tired, sore boobs) and didn't get nauseous till second month

Disenchanted · 17/04/2008 08:45

Withmy fiest I had no symptoms, or was too young to notice anyway! I do remember thinking in boots 'Why the hell am I buying a pregnancy test when I have awful period pains anyway?'

But it was + .

With DS2, DS1 was only 9 months old, so with him my breast actully started leaking! (only breastfed DS1 for a few days too) and I walked int he kitchen and the smell of chips cooking made me sick!!

This time I had period pains and sore boobs, but only ever so slightly sore. I also felt really dizzy the other day, it happened about 3 times, didn't even think at the time could be because of pregnancy! D'oh!

Amapoleon · 17/04/2008 08:47

My boobs were instantly sore. To be honest both times that I have been preggers I just knew. I can't explain it but I knew.

Disenchanted · 17/04/2008 08:49

I knew this time too Amapoleon, not sure why but (TMI...) obviously when your period is due you prepare, wear a pad .. but I was over a week late and never put one on, I was just sure she wouldn't come IYKWIM.

Still shocked to see the + test though!

chocciedooby · 17/04/2008 10:04

Congratulations everyone!Hopefully I will be joining the Due Dec crew soon.
Have back ache today and still some lower abdominal aching.Still no AF.2 days late now.
Really tempted to go get another test even though I promised myself I would resist until Friday.
Any news Cece?

Did another test this monring and another BFN?

2beautifulgirls · 17/04/2008 12:17

Has anyone had a watery mouth, as a early pregnancy symptom?

When are you due af cece?

chocoplease · 17/04/2008 12:21

Oh how exciting, don't think I can wait til Fri to find out your results! Got everything crossed for you! I am with Amapoleon never had any symptoms but just knew I was from about 2 days after conception! Both times!

belgo · 17/04/2008 12:22

2beasutifulgirls - excess saliva can occur in pregnancy, it certainly does in mine - so yes it can be an early pregancy symptom

cece · 17/04/2008 12:22

AF was due last Tuesday but I can be a few days out so probably just late this month. First month of trying so just want af to arrive now so we can get started again

BouncyBouncy · 17/04/2008 12:32

With me the first sign has always been ridiculously enhanced sense of smell - not an asset when you already have a stinky toddler

chocciedooby · 17/04/2008 12:32

Don't lose hope Cece.I just did a another test (the waiting is killing me) and it was a BFN yet again to.
I was due AF Tuesday as well. I would have only conceived 12 days ago so need to give it a few more days I reckon.
When do you think you could have conceived or is it too difficult to tell

OP posts:
cece · 17/04/2008 15:58

I had a positve OV test 2 weeks ago today. So probably 14 days or maybe 13.

chocciedooby · 17/04/2008 17:52

Still no AF for me yet.Just the watery discharge (sorry tmi).
Tummy feels bloated. I couldn't eat my usual amount of tea.
Stil a bit achey in the loins!
Tired but always am anyway (I'm a 8 hrs a night girl or I struggle!).
Not gone to the toilet as much today.
NOt had much energy to play with 2DC's today

tellyaddict · 17/04/2008 21:43

Corr this is really exciting! I whizzed down the pages to see if chocciedooby had a bfp yet!!

My symptoms with all 3 came within days of conception - exhaustion, little dots of milk coming through on my boobs (the only thing that told me I was def pg and not pre-menstrual), sore boobs, period like pains, excess saliva (drove me nuts) causing excessive swallowing, causing excessive wind . Hyper sensitivity to smell and nausea came after a few weeks.

Fingers crossed for you

tellyaddict · 17/04/2008 21:45

Oh, and I meant to add - I had 3 bfn before I got a very faint line on my bfp test, which was about a week after af was due .... though I was on a short cycle of 23 days for a few months before.
