@Twinkletwinklelil I’m 17 weeks and found out I’m having a baby boy! 💙 all has been fine since stopping the progesterone and I am feeling SO much better now I’m properly in the second trimester - my boobs are bloody massive and I need to wee a lot but other than that I basically feel normal! First trimester was so rough in comparison so hopefully you will be over the hump soon!

OnNaturesCourse · 16/05/2024 14:34

I'm ok progesterone twice daily due to a late missed miscarriage last June, and bleeding in pregnancies previous to that.

Not gonna lie all it's done is cause me to worry more about a missed miscarriage.

@Twinkletwinklelil how did your scan go yesterday? 😊 hope all is well for you

Twinkletwinklelil · 17/05/2024 08:53

Hi everyone
hope you’re all doing well.

thanks @HubbaNubba how are you?
my scan went well - little baby was so fidgety!
it was such a long appointment!
the progesterone is clearly doing its job!

@OnNaturesCourse sorry you feel that way, the anxiety never leaves I’m afraid !

@hopingforapeainapod aww that’s lovely news!! Congratulations! The first trimester has kicked my ass so much. Can’t wait for it to get easier

@HopefulElle i stop progesterone at 16 weeks, I did the same last time and it worked and the anxiety stopping was so bad!! But you start feeling baby around then so it works out..
we tackled it by getting lots of private scans for reassurance.

@reimah definitely go get checked out with the bleeding, have heard it can happen but not experienced it myself with the pessaries

@Sez281 thank you!!

@Wise0wl how are you today? Any better?

Apologies! Pressed send too quickly!

I have just found out I'm pregnant after two miscarriage circa 5/6 weeks.

I'm 5weeks today and managed to get an appointment at EPU and was prescribed progesterone.

I have used it this evening and can now see why everyone calls it messy

I'm anxious but weirdly calm and I think it's because I'm not accepting as it is real.

I really just need to get to 12 weeks.

Docs have been really good and called me in for another scan next Friday

Thought I'd share x

Twinkletwinklelil · 17/05/2024 21:33

Congrats @mr809
take all the scans you can. I had them every two weeks and it helps!!

progesterone is messy.. I wear a pad every day but I cannot wait to get rid of them come week 16!!

hope it all goes well for you. Hope your scan goes well x

Hi, is anyone suffering with bloating? My symptoms of pregnancy aren't too bad other than cramps but the bloating is intense and I'm finding that my stomach is constantly bloated and uncomfortable

I'm assuming it's because of the pessary progesterone but wondered if anyone could relate?

HopefulElle · 26/05/2024 21:15

@mr809 I’m really bloated too, but have never been pregnant before so not sure how much of it is down to the progesterone and how much is pregnancy. I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and coming off it, so I will soon see!

Yeah it's the same for me - not been pregnant before - do keep us posted how you get on and good luck!!

Yes! Massively!!

Yes to the bloating... My midwife and consultant have said it's all normal with progesterone. Midwife even said she has known some woman to have bloating that bad that they have come off progesterone a little early as they couldn't manage the discomfort and pain any longer.

mr809 · 27/05/2024 11:14

That's interesting! Im just drinking a lot of hot water and that seems to help keep it at baby! I have social events this weekend and all my clothes have felt so snug! I convinced myself I've put weight on!

Twinkletwinklelil · 27/05/2024 20:44

Anyone struggling to eat or drink anything?
I’m so thirsty but hate drinking! Which is so weird.. not experienced anything like it!!!

got major anxiety because I’ve made it to 2nd trimester now (thanks for the support) and my symptoms have just gone 🤷🏽‍♀️ so I’ve got another scan tomorrow 🙁

Sending good vibes for the scan tomorrow xx

@Twinkletwinklelil how did your scan go lovely?

I have my scan for 8 weeks on Friday and am having nightmares and imaging the worst 😅

Twinkletwinklelil · 05/06/2024 21:25

@mr809 aw bless you! I know exactly how that feels. I hope tomorrow flies by for you and Fridays scan goes well

scan went really well! I just hate waiting in between every scan! :(

Hi, I am on progresteron too and 8+6 today with twins. I had a fresh transfer with ivf and my clinic said that I can come off progresterone at the end of week 8, but I am worried as I have never heard anyone to come off progresterone that early. I did check with the clinic if the information is correct and they said yes, because it was a fresh transfer. I will only have my first booking appointment this weekend, where I will ask the nurse, but by the time I get there, I will run out of the usual 400mg cyclogest and only have 200mg utrogestan left from a previous cycle. What would you do in my situation? Use the 200mg one? Stop using progresterone and stop worrying about it too?

OnNaturesCourse · 06/06/2024 14:10

Could you maybe push for longer on them? I wouldn't take anything they haven't agreed to... I am on it until 16 weeks but that is because of a previous loss and ongoing bleeding issues in this and past pregnancies.

Twinkletwinklelil · 07/06/2024 05:38

@BeLemonQuoter just talk through your anxiety of coming off early with them
You could tell them you’ve read that people come off at week 12 or 16 and would feel better doing that
they should support you

Hi all
I’m due to come off progesterone
but I can’t figure out if it’s at the day I “am” 16 weeks or when I hit 17 weeks?
they’ve said take it to 16 weeks and then also completed 16 weeks.
DH says that I will complete 16 weeks on the day my “app” shows I’m 16 weeks.. I keep thinking it’s the night before I’m 17? I have no idea.
any advice? I’ve asked the consultant but not really getting the straightest of answers.

You complete 16 weeks on the day you turn 16 weeks, so that’s the day you can stop them and rejoice in the freedom! 😊

Twinkletwinklelil · 17/06/2024 03:59

Thank you @miellee

Hi all,

Also an IVF pregnancy here (natural FET) and was on progesterone from 3 days before transfer until 12 weeks. I had a few leftover bullets I took every other day and finally finished up about 1.5 weeks ago.

I’m now 15 weeks. We’ve booked a private scan at 16.5 weeks. Hopefully all will be okay, but it was so nerve-wracking to come off them - and I had to initially push for more of the pessaries as they recommended stopping after my positive test at 10dp5dt.

I can’t say I miss taking them! They made me SO bloated.
