Hello @SnookyPook @RoseH36 and @Fullofconfusion ! I don’t know if there’s anyone I’ve missed- feel free to add. Just thought it might be nice to have a new space as we’re all fairly similar gestation wise and we’ve been through a fair amount together in the previous thread x

I've seen some ladies say their bump size/position changes with the time of day/how long they've been standing that day so I think it is very variable @RoseH36

RoseH36 · 21/04/2024 16:48

@SouthwestSis thank you, thats reassuring to know. I know it was probably just my mind panicking for no reason. Think it's harder as well as all those early symptoms have gone at this stage too.

Fullofconfusion · 21/04/2024 17:09

I think bumps can definitely change. I looked like I had a bump at 5/6 weeks but was obviously bloating as it disappeared and I only just feel like I’m getting one now at 13 weeks. But sometimes it seems to be more pronounced than others.

I’m finally getting over my shingles. I think everything kind of hit me this afternoon. I’ve had a super busy week with decorating/rearranging the house and then the shingles and then the news that we had a high risk from our screening tests. I just fell asleep on the sofa mid afternoon. I’ve not been sleeping great due to the shingles and I think it’s just worn me out! Need a few days to pull myself together. Hopeful for a low NIPT result early next week so that I can tick that off my worry list!

SnookyPook · 21/04/2024 18:40

@RoseH36 we do a weekly bump thread on my due date group and there have been comments a couple of times from people saying their bumps are smaller than last week so baby must have changed position etc. They're all very chill about it so presume they've not been through pregnancy loss! But it is very normal at this stage I think! Baby is still small so unless lying in a 'bum out' type position I guess it won't necessarily stick out as much!

RoseH36 · 21/04/2024 19:30

@Fullofconfusion @SnookyPook thank you, it's hard not to overthink every little thing isn't it?

@Fullofconfusion glad to hear you're getting over shingles, that will have really taken it out of you on top of everything else so not surprising you're exhausted. Hopefully once that clears and you get your results this week you'll start sleeping better.

SnookyPook · 21/04/2024 19:37

@Fullofconfusion sorry I'd missed your update! So glad you're over the shingles. Not surprised you've been in a weird place - lots to process/worry about and really poorly too.... Hopefully a much better week ahead for you!! 💗

Bumblebee413 · 21/04/2024 20:57

@SnookyPook I’m so sorry you had that difficult time. Definitely sounds as though at all hit you all at once. I’m glad that you heard him doing his thing and have an appointment booked in, even if it does feel ages away.

Welcome @SouthwestSis, glad you found us!

@Fullofconfusion what an awful lot to deal with all at once! 😫 What a horrific shingles location. I had impetigo once across my bum cheeks as a teen and the itchiness along my knicker line or when I sat down still makes me wince just thinking about it now. So glad that they’re clearing now. I’m not surprised that you’re shattered x

@RoseH36 mine definitely goes up and down from day to day!

Have had a slightly eventful week. My toddler jumped up for a hug when I was kneeling and brought both of her knees into my bump and it really hurt. I knew it wasn’t enough to damage the baby but the next day I was still tender. I then had a teaching session to run which was a bit last minute and my heart was absolutely pounding. I realised afterwards that I’d started tightening every five minutes and then started wondering if the baby had got hurt the day before.

Went down to the day assessment unit and they felt my tummy and offered a speculum, which I declined because it genuinely didn’t feel like anything was actually happening and I hadn’t had any bleeding so said it was fine and left. Then realised that I was still quite stressed and unsettled and realised that I had been hoping to hear or see a heartbeat for reassurance. Went onto our birthing centre and asked a colleague to check for me and just hearing a heartbeat was so lovely. The tightenings stopped pretty much immediately and I remembered that with my daughter I had started tightening every two minutes after a really adrenaline packed film but that they had stopped when I had a bath. Clearly my uterus is absolutely rubbish with adrenaline. What an awful fight or flight response! “Immediate danger? Have some labour” 😑

Luckily it’s all been fine since, had my 16 week appointment and heard the heartbeat. It was a little awkward as the midwife asked if I had felt anything yet and I said I hadn’t, then when she was listening in you could just heard the baby kicking about like an eejit and she was looking at me like “Can you seriously not feel that??”. Nope! 😂

@Bumblebee413 thank you, will stop worrying over it. What an eventful week you had! Glad everything is ok with baby. I was asked that by the last songrapher and midwife, it makes you start to question if you should be able to feel something or not. I can't remember when I felt anything with DS but pretty sure it wasn't before 20 weeks at the earliest.

SnookyPook · 22/04/2024 08:31

@Bumblebee413 sorry for your scare - glad all was ok!! That's crazy the midwife was surprised - it's super common to not feel anything until at least 18/19 wks and even into the 20s as @RoseH36 said!

Bumblebee413 · 22/04/2024 10:53

I know, did feel a little silly though. I haven’t felt anything since, but I’m ok with that. Today anyway- give me a week or so for paranoia to creep in 😂

@Bumblebee413 goodness what a scare. Your body definitely has a unique fight or flight response there! I’m glad all seems to be well again now and hopefully you’ll feel some movement soon to give you that added reassurance.

I got my NIPT results today and they were all low risk. Huge sigh of relief all round! I feel like I can relax a bit now

SouthwestSis · 23/04/2024 16:33

Congrats on the NIPT @Fullofconfusion , great news!
I'm treating myself to a massage this evening as its likely not long before I can't lie on my front anymore, really looking forward to it!

Oh this is great news! Hope you can relax a bit more now! 💗

@SouthwestSis ooh that sounds lovely - enjoy!! My best friends have booked a spa day for one of their birthdays in June and they made sure to book a place with pregnancy treatments for me 💕 Quite looking forward to a bit of pampering!!

Bumblebee413 · 23/04/2024 18:02

@Fullofconfusion what excellent news!! And breathe…! X

@SouthwestSis amazing plan, enjoy x

@Fullofconfusion thats great news 😄

@SouthwestSis Enjoy! I'd love a massage but they always seem to cause intense headaches when I sit back up so not had one for years.

Fullofconfusion · 23/04/2024 20:17

Thank you so much ladies. It’s a huge relief and we’re both over the moon. We can actually share our news with a few extra people now, it’s been hard staying quiet but I couldn’t face people asking if we had results yet.

@SouthwestSis ooooh enjoy! I do love a massage

RoseH36 · 25/04/2024 14:33

Not sure if I've started feeling flutters or not. Every now and then there's the tiniest sensations like little kicks but I've felt them below my belly button as well as lower down in my abdomen so really not sure.

SnookyPook · 25/04/2024 15:54

@RoseH36 aw exciting! What gestation are you now? I first questioned tiny movements around 15wks this time (was 19 with my DS) although I then questioned it for 3 more weeks before I felt more sure. I also went days in-between those possible early ones!

RoseH36 · 25/04/2024 15:57

@SnookyPook perhaps it is then, like you I've had days with nothing but this afternoon seemed to be quite a few in quick sucession then nothing since my post. I'm 17+3.

Fullofconfusion · 26/04/2024 15:40

Aw how lovely for you both feeling little flutters. I can’t wait to feel baby bouncing about in there.

I’m really tired again this week. Looked on the Flo app and last week baby was 2.6 inches and this week 5.8!! So week 13-14 looks like a lot of growing. I feel like my tiredness is justified now haha

SnookyPook · 26/04/2024 15:43

@Fullofconfusion I remember noticing the doubling that week for the same reason! Was knackered! Hopefully a great sign though! 🥰

Bumblebee413 · 28/04/2024 07:52

Sounds like baby @RoseH36! I’m feeling them too now, although I need to sit/ lie super still some days to find any. It’s definitely making it feel real! I think my morning sickness is finally starting to shift too. Phew!

How is everyone doing? X

@Bumblebee413 thank you for including me 💖
I haven't been active in the pregnancy section. I found it not as friendly as the TTC one in the past whenever i posted... but I love being able to see all the familiar faces in here so glad you put this one together.
I'm 33 weeks now and I feel ready to get it over with, hahaha. So uncomfortable.
This time around I got gestational diabetes and so they put me on insulin. Not excited about putting anything in my body even though they say it's totally safe for the baby.
Also getting a bit nervous about introducing baby to my toddler. He is very attached to me and won't even let my husband hold my hand 😅 so I'm wondering how he will be when I'll holding a baby!

Hope everyone is doing well 💗

RoseH36 · 28/04/2024 13:14

@Bumblebee413 could well have been but barely felt anything since. Hoping it will increase soon to be sure.

@VixFromThe6ix lovely to have you with us, I've avoided the TTC thread for a while. Your not alone in having GD, I had it last time and was diagnosed a few weeks ago. Needed metformin last time. So far I'm still diet controlled but sure that will change. Insulin is totally fine for baby so don't worry about that and pretty soon you won't need it at all 😊
