@SarahB88 congratulations!!! It must be so amazing to finally have her in your arms 🥰 💕

Congratulations to everyone else as well that had their babies already!!

I'm 39+2 and still in the miserable group of feeling totally enormous, period pains coming and going, constantly thinking that something is happening but not really... And also having a bad mood and being annoyed more often than not.
😫

cosylife · 18/05/2024 08:08

Congrats @SarahB88 and @LondonGirl1992 !

@Nina7 hope you can take comfort that you’re not alone and a few of us are here, in the same mood as you 😂😩

MrsB2005 · 18/05/2024 09:06

@SarahB88 so glad your little girl is here safe and well! Congratulations and enjoy your new baby bubble x
Thank you for your honest experience and for those of us who also dont want an induction may have a bit of a fight on our hands!

@LondonGirl1992 Congratulations - Glad you are both home safe and well.

Sorry so many others are feeling so fed up. I've had a bit of a U turn and quite happy for baby to stay put for a while longer and I'm quite enjoying the last few days / week. Although the night waking of serious back ache and needing the toilet could do with stopping.

It wont be long now and we will be holding our little bundles of joy.

@Sa11yCinnamon I have everything crossed that baby comes in the next few days for you! Sending lots of love & like others have said, birthing ball is meant to be really good; if you have one!! X

Sa11yCinnamon · 18/05/2024 09:29

Huge congratulations @SarahB88 and @LondonGirl1992, enjoy your lovely newborn bubble!!

Everyone else, we’re nearly there even if it doesn’t feel like it.

I do indeed have a birthing ball, trying everything I can with it 😊

Huge congratulations to everyone who has had their babies or gotten home with their babies over the last week ❤️

For those who are still waiting and feeling fed up, it won't be long now and you'll not remember this difficult wait when your wee one is here.

I had my baby on Thursday 16th May. Baby boy, Rio, weighing 9lbs 4 oz.
Went into labour on Monday 13th May and laboured on and off at home until Wednesday night, went in and was 6cms. Had a great experience at first, got in the pool, was enjoying the gas and air etc then things ramped up and I had an epidural. Unfortunately it failed and my son ended up getting stuck, after 4 hours of pushing I went to theatre and they managed to deliver him by forceps. While it was a lot to deal with, the midwives, consultants etc were amazing throughout. We got home last night and I couldn't be happier to be home with my son 💙

PeppedUp · 18/05/2024 09:56

So lovely to hear about more births!

@SarahB88 glad to hear you ultimately ended up happy with your birth even if it wasn’t the one you imagined. Enjoy your time with your lovely little girl!

And congrats @LondonGirl1992. Good luck with your feeding journey - you’ve already done really well to get it back on track so fingers crossed for you x

To everyone else still waiting on their arrival, I completely empathise! I got an at-home manicure/pedicure yesterday, which was a nice way to relax and hopefully stimulate some oxytocin. I’m going to try and plan some little things to look forward to each day up until 40+12, which is when I’d be induced, if it comes to that, just to keep my mental health in check.

Sa11yCinnamon · 18/05/2024 11:28

Wonderful news @Judethepud, welcome to the world Rio! ❤️

Emmacb82 · 18/05/2024 11:39

Congratulations to all the new arrivals since I’ve last been on here! And good luck to all those still waiting, it is worth it!
Weve had never ending visits and hospital trips since baby girl was born as she’s jaundice. Have managed to just escape phototherapy and got one last weigh in today before hopefully being signed off! Third baby and I’ve never seen so many midwives 🤣

PeppedUp · 18/05/2024 12:24

Congratulations @Judethepud ! I had a similarly stuck baby and forceps delivery with my first. Hope your recovery goes well x

Good luck with your weigh in today @Emmacb82 !

Mum2b2024 · 18/05/2024 12:38

@junebuglb so glad to hear you are all home! That must have been so difficult but glad all is going well now :)

@SarahB88 congratulations on your little girl! :) So sorry to hear u had a bad experience beforehand and so glad u got Ur section moved forward! Thanks for the insight into your c section as glad it all went well and that breastfeeding going well!

@LondonGirl1992 congratulations on your little boy! :) sounds like u made the right decision. Glad the section went well and been looked after well! Glad to hear your recovery isn't too bad atm either. Sorry to hear about the breastfeeding but hopefully u both get in down soon!

@Judethepud congratulations on your little boy! :) Sorry to hear he got stuck but glad it all went well in the end!

Sorry to hear about some still waiting and having a hard time, hopefully they will come soon!

We have our planned c section on Monday! I'm terrified but feeling more excited now too! Having the pre op yesterday helped ease some of the anxiety and I can't believe only a few days left until we find out and meet our baby 🥰 nice to hear some positive stories on people's c sections so hopefully ours will be too 🤞

SarahB88 · 18/05/2024 16:56

Massive congrats @LondonGirl1992 and @Judethepud so happy you’ve got your babies!

Best of luck to everyone still waiting to go. Just stand up for your rights and you’ll get the birth you want 🥰

nh93 · 18/05/2024 21:05

Huge congrats to those who have had their babies 🥰
and for those of us still waiting we are nearly there we got this 💪🏽

I've been feeling really unwell for the last 10 days assumed it was a viral infection from my son but now has turned into a sinus infection, i'm on antibiotics now (also suffering from thrush 😭) fingers crossed i feel better soon, haven't felt this ill in ages.
on top of that been nesting like crazy as j can't sleep abs have major anxiety i need everything prepped and ready before baby comes.
I have two weeks left but i can't seem to rest! 😅

lots of pressure on my public bone, i'm hoping to ask the midwife to check my cervix at my appt on Tuesday

hope everyone else is okay💕

MrsB2005 · 20/05/2024 11:43

We had our baby, a little boy, early hours of this morning. We are home now - completely in a newborn bubble and cant wait for his siblings to meet him after school.

Not the birth I had hoped for in any way and do feel slightly let down by certain midwifes but baby is healthy so thats all that really matters.

Hope the rest of you are soon cradling your gorgeous newborn bundles x

SarahB88 · 20/05/2024 12:20

Congratulations @MrsB2005 !

Sorry to hear that you’ve not had the birth you hoped for, I hope it wasn’t too bad ☹️ enjoy all the new born cuddles though!

We had our first midwife check today, she’s down to 6lb11 unfortunately so just on the borderline of needing further checks but midwife is leaving her for now. I’ve been given some feeding tips and a new position to try so hopefully that helps.

How many babies are we still waiting for?

cosylife · 20/05/2024 12:58

Congrats @MrsB2005 sorry about the birth but you’re right, little one is here healthy but make sure you’re okay too.

I’ve got my section this week, had a scare yesterday and was in hospital thinking my waters broke early but false alarm thankfully!

Sa11yCinnamon · 20/05/2024 13:08

Congratulations @MrsB2005! Really sorry that it wasn’t the experience you hoped for but great that you’re home already. Enjoy settling in together xx

we're still waiting. nesting is in full swing trying to keep myself busy x

PeppedUp · 20/05/2024 14:48

Congratulations @MrsB2005! Sorry some of the midwives weren’t great but nice that you got to come home so soon after and exciting that your others get to meet him soon x

Sa11yCinnamon · 20/05/2024 15:37

Also still waiting here but managing to be slightly more patient, at least for now.

A local photographer was looking for some ‘models’ for a training session so I did that today, was a really fun distraction and they’ll send me a few pics so hopefully a nice memento of this mad time!

My official due date is tomorrow but I’ve just got everything crossed for some time this week 🤞🏼

Congrats to everyone else who has had their babies! It’s so magical. How is everyone finding it so far?

Good luck to those of you who have planned sections/inductions etc approaching!!

I had my day 5 appt today and they churched my c section scar snd said it was healing really well which is such a relief! It’s been fairly painless so far which I’m so happy about.

SarahB88 · 20/05/2024 18:03

@LondonGirl1992 that’s good to hear about your section scar! Did you have to get any additional stitches or are you’re all dissolvable? I’ve had to get some extra stitches that the midwife is going to cut 😩

I think mine are all dissolvable because the midwife mentioned today that nothing needed removing. I’ve not braved a look yet though to be honest!

I washed my hair for the first time today since Tuesday (was scared of getting the dressing wet before) and omg it felt amazing! 🤣

I’m finding him super sleepy- he wakes for feeds but then is straight back to sleep. Is anyone else finding they have a mega sleepy baby?

Colourfulflowers · 20/05/2024 18:53

@MrsB2005 @LondonGirl1992 @SarahB88 @Judethepud

Congratulations ladies on your lovely baby additions to your families 🥰 xx

Hope everyone is doing well! xx

PeppedUp · 22/05/2024 04:56

Has anyone else had experience with irregular contractions? I started getting them yesterday lunchtime and they were coming every 10 minutes. But then I got up and started trying to get bits and pieces done and they slowed down to a couple an hour and have been like that for over 12 hours. By this time with my first I was already in hospital and 10cm dialated so feeling a bit disheartened that this labour is taking longer as everyone said the second is quicker.

Colourfulflowers · 22/05/2024 09:00

@LondonGirl1992 my first hair wash felt like such a treat too!! 😂

My CS stitches looked like one long blue wire (not a scientific term 😂) which the midwife removed in one go on day 6. I was anxious about having it removed but thankfully it was painless and super quick!

Question; does anyone have or planning to use a baby sling? I have a Caboo, and I tried putting it on yesterday, but didn’t feel like babies head was supported. I need to practice again today and figure that out…

Hope everyone is doing well xx 🌸
