Please share, heading into a new cycle soon and I’d be interested to see what else I can try

I stopped the mini pill and had twins, super fertile the month after the pill. One of my friends got pregnant the same way too with twins.

Ididivfama · 29/12/2023 22:35

It is absolutely luck. Your body has no idea whether it’s the first month or fiftieth month of trying. It’s just that egg and sperm will work.

LambriniBobinIsleworth · 29/12/2023 22:38

Had fertility acupuncture at a sketchy Chinese doctor in East Ham. Might have been a coincidence but got pregnant that month after almost a year of trying. Good luck!

lucya66 · 29/12/2023 22:42

Ate pineapple around ovulation
had a hot bath around implantation
put my legs up the wall for 5 minutes each day to increase blood flow to my reproductive organs
used the ferti-lily cup after sex around ovulation
used pre seed lube.

these were the things I did the month we conceived, after 1+ year trying loosely and 6 months timing ovulation sex.

Burpcloth · 29/12/2023 23:08

First pregnancy: took TTC off the table entirely so it was a surprise when I tested late on.

2nd pregnancy: used ovulation sticks/bbt as in previous cycles but this time the change was to completely stop any tracking or even thinking about TTC/pregnancy/symptoms post ovulation. The result was feeling less stressed and being better rested (no early waking in anticipation of bbt).

I realise coincidence is likely, but all the same I can't help but feel that anticipatory/tense state of being wasn't entirely conducive to my body embracing conceiving.

Peachtails · 29/12/2023 23:10

Neither of us had drank alcohol for about a month before, not that I drank lots but I think my body was in a healthier place.

DementedPanda · 29/12/2023 23:14

After 6 years of infertility and two failed ivf cycles we postponed 3rd round and I decided to do something for me. I wasn't over weight as such but wanted to lose a few pounds so did slimming world. Replaced cards with butternut squash and conceived straight away. Then 8 months later still eating butternut squash ... bam conceived no 2 . Still can't get my head around it and they are now 13 and 12.

Hiddenvoice · 29/12/2023 23:20

Decided to try relax and have fun. After ttc for years we just decided to take pressure off us and spend some quality time together. We booked time off, went on a long weekend trip and just enjoyed ourselves. We met up with friends and had nights out.
Only discovered I was pregnant when I realised I was late.

PickledScrump · 29/12/2023 23:38

Used preseed, both second and third babies conceived first time using it

Salamander91 · 30/12/2023 04:37

Cliché but after over 3 years of trying I'd had enough of the pressured sex and just did it when we felt like it that month. Baby boy is 10 days old today 🥰

RiderofRohan · 30/12/2023 05:08

Had a hycosy and a polypectomy the previous month.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/12/2023 05:30

Karaoke. And gin.

Not a combo I'd suggest to most people.

Stargazer03 · 30/12/2023 11:59

My pregnancy is a result of ivf but I fell pregnant last year naturally after many years of trying. The only thing I did differently was not think about it. It was literally the first time in years I wasn't hoping to get pregnant because of a stressful house move. I also took a provera tablet that month . No idea but something causes a miracle as I couldn't get pregnant for 13 years

JJM13 · 30/12/2023 12:59

Totally cliche but we stopped trying no poas or tracking ovulation , etc we went on holiday and completely relaxed and dtd when we felt like it im now nearly 11 weeks pregnant ! I also didn’t test until i had actually missed my period .

Heartofglass12345 · 30/12/2023 13:28

Went on holiday for a week, had sex the day I got back and boom lol

Lucylooloo2 · 30/12/2023 14:29

I always hated when people would say to me that ‘it will happen when you stop trying’ or that I was putting too much pressure on myself. But after over a year of TTC following a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, the one month I had written off because I was on a work trip when I tracked ovulation, was the month we conceived. I couldn’t believe it.

Happytimes123456 · 30/12/2023 15:34

I am going to try this month!
Things I am going to do:
Stop drinking as much coffee
No alcohol
Avoiding paracetamol (I frequently take them due to migraines)
Taking folic acid.
Drinking lots of water.
Good luck!! Keep us posted 😁😁

TryingForBabyFirstTime · 30/12/2023 16:56

We dtd every second day until positive ovulation test and then day of positive test and the next 2 days. Because we'd been dtd every second day we had also done the day before the positive test. We also used preseed.

Busyhedgehog · 30/12/2023 18:09

First time round, had surgery to clear my tubes. This time, sixth round of IVF...my case had been taken over by the lead physician in the clinic.

Had loads of people, who kept telling me to just relax, go on holiday, blablabla...not likely to work for someone with only one tube left, which is basically useless anyway. 🤷‍♀️😊

Blue2020 · 30/12/2023 21:50

Went on holiday 6 days after ovulation, just worked out that way. We booked the holiday ages beforehand. Had a relaxing time. It was a three week holiday so I also found out while still on holiday.

Also used ovulation tests to make sure we had covered the window before ovulation. We did this the month beforehand as well.

Blue2020 · 30/12/2023 21:53

Oh to add, something specific. I had a smear test 14 days before ovulating. Probably has no impact but it happened. I ovulate later in the cycle- day 24 on that cycle.

perfumelover99 · 30/12/2023 21:56

We struggled to get pregnant for years and all tests came back normal and I was diagnosed with "unexplained infertility".

I read several stories on here of women using a menstrual cup after sex and putting their legs up in the air after DTD.

During my ovulation with DS1 I did the above and the next month I was pregnant!
I have been with my husband since I was 16 and I was 26 when I finally got pregnant and we had never used any contraception either up until then.

Ireallywantsomechips · 30/12/2023 21:57

Stressed the most I ever did that I was never going to get pregnant. And then I did! So don't stress about not being stressed

Thank you this is so helpful, you’re the first person I’ve seen say this. Everyone says don’t stress otherwise nothing will happen - that’s like saying don’t think of pink elephants haha

Stopped trying . Forgot all about it. Had sex once that whole cycle. He’s nine years old now 😁
