Hi there
At the grand old age of 39 I am now just over 10 wks pg with my first following two previous miscarriages over the last 3 years. Just wondering if there are any other similar mums to be out there looking to share the journey and feelings/experiences?

15 weeks, age 37. It only took 6 weeks to conceive, we just didn't get round to it before!

Hiya everyone

Another midwife appointment and yet again We played find the baby

I am just wondering when Rocky will realise trying to hide from the midwife when you are nearly 24 weeks old is becoming slightly pointless because you are too big. It was not helped because my placenta is anterior and high up and the midwife thought that was the little rascal and I was initially having braxton hicks so my whole tummy was hard good job I know where troubles feet were and their favourite position

Hi again,
Sorry it has taken me so long.
I did have the amnio on tuesday and the results are normal, our baby does not have Down S.
The amnio, just in case you are interested, this is my second one, went really well, it was very fast, without pain and after resting for 2 days I am fine now.

I will have the rest of the results for very rare defects and the sex of the baby in 2 weeks time.
I was very nervous about the amnio, because the risk of ms, but I don't regret it.
All the best

I had my 12 week scan, all is well. What a relief to see the fetus alive and well. They also did a blood test for the genetic screening. We've got an appointment to discuss results next week.

We'll have to decide about an amnio soon and I'm really not sure. Potxola were your screening results high probability of a disorder? I feel as though the only reason I'm considered high risk is my age. There's no down syndrome in my family, etc.

potxola · 29/03/2008 10:55

fall08baby, there is no Down S. or any other genetic defect in my family.

They take 3 things into consideration:
-the age, I am almost 41
-The results of the blood test. Mine shown very high in pregnancy hormone levels
-And the NT scan. mine was 2.5 mm

They gave me the risk 1 in 52 for Down Syndrome, I was ok for the other 2 defects they checked me for.
I hope it helps. Good luck.

Looking at my tummy today I am wondering if I should take pictures of the stretch marks and see if I can use them to win the turner prize

Hi all
How's everyone doing? Sorry not been on for a while been in hospital! Started with chronic lower abdominal pains last week after a walk with my dog - really awful - thought the worst. Went to A&E after a night of agony - they admitted me - eventually got a scan a day later and everything seemed ok - still in pain though and suffering chronic nausea and feeling very sorry for myself - anyone else had a bad few days like this? Sorry just looking for some comfort BC x

Hello all, I am 37 and 31 weeks with a girl - my first child. All scans and blood tests have been fine so far. I can only imagine having a child now - I feel so much more secure in my career and salary and emotional confidence. I even think I am physically healthier and fitter than I've ever been. Plus, I only met my husband three years ago so finally I am in the stable relationship I wanted to have a child. I love being pregnant at 37 and am looking forward to being "an older mum"! O

Kaz1967 · 01/04/2008 20:32

Oh BC you poor thing I get lots of aches and pains because of fibroids and ligaments stretching plus braxton hicks when I even walk more than a very short distance.

My best mate was in and out of hospital with her first with abdominal pains so much so the midwives kept saying you not had it yet LOL so you are not alone.

Give your self some TLC and try and relax Hun

Orissiah Welcome you are nearly there then Must admit I am looking forward to it as well although it is a scary prospect I will be glad to get rid of all these aches and pains :?

babycakes26 · 02/04/2008 10:50

Thx Kaz - pain much better today and generally feeling a bit more human :-)

How are you doing? How many weeks to go for you now? What's happening on the move front? BC x

BC I am 25 weeks on Friday which comes as quite a shock. Hot chatting to a lady at the zoo today and she asked me how many months I was I worked out it was about 6 which sounds even worse. I have so much on what with college and trying to sell this place it just feels like not enough time.
