Got lots of lovely supportive friends in other parts of the country, but would be great to get to know some other women in the same boat here. Anyone?

@LeopardLover Hello!

Doing pretty well here, nearly 30 weeks now. I had horrible hip and back pain for a while but swimming and sitting on a yoga ball have really helped.

How are you?

bracemyselfagain · 10/01/2024 09:15

Hi all 🙂
Ahh I'm starting to struggle now at 36w and a 1yr old ... I know the end is nigh but ... 😰😰

janfebmarchapril · 13/01/2024 13:32

Third trimester for me this week. Can't believe how fast it's going! I've started yoga which has really helped by back ache! Have a midwife app and a scan this week! Hope everyone's okay xx

LeopardLover · 13/01/2024 14:09

@preggo39 Oh well done! I went to an osteopath for this last week. I think I need to get my ball out and try some yoga like you @janfebmarchapril .

@bracemyselfagain Not long for you now 🙏🏻 honestly being pregnant with a toddler is really something else. My 2.5 year old has never really slept and has always been a bit wild so I'm frazzled 😂 especially as I'm getting bigger and bigger!

bracemyselfagain · 18/01/2024 08:11

G'morning ladies 🙂🙂
Hope we're all doing well? The final hurdle for us!
I'm still extended breech (well, baby is) and have been since at least 32w. I'm terrified 😂
ELCS is booked for 39w but I'm waiting a message with exact time/date ... anyone with any experience of this? I tried what I could to encourage baby to turn but just didn't happen.

Recovery will be fun with a 1yr old 😰😬

preggo39 · 18/01/2024 09:20

@bracemyselfagain Have you thought about having a session of acupuncture to turn the baby? I'm not a great believer in it but a friend of mine had a session when her baby was breech specifically for that reason, and her baby turned. I also have 2 friends who were overdue, went for acupuncture, and their babies were born the next day. Could of course have been total coincidence, but it won't hurt so might be worth a shot! My baby's in a weird position too and I'll definitely be having acupuncture if it hasn't moved in a few weeks' time.

How many weeks are you now?

LeopardLover · 18/01/2024 11:53

@bracemyselfagain Sorry I can't give advice but all my friends who had ELCS loved them! I'm also scared about recovery with a bouncy 2.5 year old so I'll be asking you for all the tips.

I hope baby still turns though! X

Elphamouche · 18/01/2024 14:41

Hello! Can I join?

30 weeks, due 25th March, 1st baby but had a missed miscarriage April 2023.

I haven’t met anyone locally so finding it a bit overwhelming!

LeopardLover · 18/01/2024 18:15

@Elphamouche Welcome and congratulations! I recognise you from the due in March board, although we're about 3 weeks apart! Sorry for your earlier loss 😔

Have you thought about signing up to NCT classes?

BristolExpat24 · 19/01/2024 04:27

Hi all!

Sorry for coming in late but my sister has just introduced me to this thread. I’m due 14 May 2024, so I’m 23 weeks + 3 with my first (had multiple miscarriages so we’re very excited!).

We’re moving to Bristol in August 24 from South Africa and my hubby will be working at Southmead hospital. We’ll likely stay around there and would love to make some mummy friends / link in some mums and tots groups 🤗 Any tips on areas, meet spots and groups would be so welcomed! ♥️

hennie222 · 19/01/2024 18:12

Hello! Can I hop in? I'm 11+2 and still pretty nervous after a previous MMC but still hopeful for an August due date.
I'm based in North Bristol @BristolExpat24 not too far from Southmead hosp actually. I've not really thought about groups yet, aside from one at my gym (in Henleaze) where you can bring the baby along with you in the buggy while you work out! Happy to answer any questions about areas etc. x

BristolExpat24 · 20/01/2024 03:05

Thank you @hennie222 - I’ll definitely reach out closer to the time. Sending positive energy to you and hopeful for your August due date 🙏

janfebmarchapril · 23/01/2024 10:49

Welcome to the newcomers!! I'm
Also in north Bristol! I really want to start cross fit with the baby! As for baby groups I did adventure babies which was fab but I basically live at Gymboree so I'll be brining the baby to the todflet classes and when toddler is in nursery I'll do the baby class!

pambeesleyhalpert · 29/03/2024 16:10

Name changed again- was janfebmarch.
How's everyone getting on? Ive got my section date through and it's for next week! Ahh! I'm very much looking forward to not being pregnant anymore 😂

Hope everyone is getting on okay! Any babies yet??

preggo39 · 29/03/2024 18:58

I had my baby last week 🙂

I was induced, which was an experience. Three contractions in 10 minutes within 30 mins of starting the drip! Eight hour labour including 2 of pushing, and needed a bit of help at the end because I was exhausted.

We spent a few days in hospital and coming home was the best thing ever.

I still can't quite believe he's here, but at the same time it feels like he always has been!

How's everyone else getting on?

preggo39 · 29/03/2024 18:59

Oh and good luck @pambeesleyhalpert ! I can confirm not being pregnant any more is great! You'll be able to put socks on again 😀

Elphamouche · 29/03/2024 19:08

I was also induced last week - to a point. Contractions started with only the balloon in so didn’t get any further!

Baby girl was born by ventouse after me spending all day trying to convince one midwife I was in labour - as soon as she left someone else came in and agreed straight away, then I finally got gas and air so all was right in the world 😂. Unfortunately that tired me out so needed help in the end.

Baby Elphamouche is bloody perfect.

Lucielu30 · 29/03/2024 20:29

Hey lovelies. Baby was born 8 weeks ago, 2 weeks earlier than expected! All went really well and he is settling in nicely.

LeopardLover · 29/03/2024 21:10

@preggo39 Congratulations! The ending sounds intense but glad he's here safely 🥰 how are you recovering?

@pambeesleyhalpert Ah,I think I recognise your old username from another thread! Exciting you've got your date booked in. 😊

@Elphamouche Somehow I once again forgot you were in Bristol! Congratulations and glad all is well 😊

We had a surprise baby girl a month ago! I'm still shocked, finding out the gender at the birth is wild! I was convinced she was a boy. Recovering well from a section but trying not to over do it as my scar still feels sore after a long day. The baby part is easy despite zero sleep - the toddler situation... Wowee. 😅

pambeesleyhalpert · 29/03/2024 21:24

@LeopardLover yes! We've been on TTC boards together! Ah huge congratulations! We're also finding out on the day and I think it's a boy along with everyone else so I'll be so so shocked if it's a girl!! How old is your toddler? Mines 2.4 and is so excited to be a big sister but I think she'll be a lot more of a hindrance than a help bless her 😂

Congratulations @Lucielu30 @Elphamouche and @preggo39!!

So wonderful hearing about the babies ❤️❤️

I am so looking forward to being able to breathe and put socks on again 😂

Hopefully we can do a meet up at some point!

preggo39 · 30/03/2024 04:07

@LeopardLover ah congratulations! How wonderful. We didn't find out the sex till birth either. It was a lovely moment.

I'm OK! Bit sore from stitches and the nights are draining, but DP and I are snatching sleep where we can and every time I look at his face it's all so worth it 😍

bracemyselfagain · 30/03/2024 07:43

Hi everyone 😊😊

Had my ELCS and baby girl is now 8w. She's an absolute treasure! Had a few ups and downs during recovery, I somehow slipped a disc in my back which hasn't been great, especially as my eldest is only 15m. But we're doing it.

Lovely to hear everyone else is doing well after their arrivals 🫶
