I’m 34 and my partner is 27 I feel a lot of pressure on my shoulders to start having kids. I want to start by the time I’m 35 as I met my partner later in life. I feel like my family think I’m too old. Am I too old this is really getting me down as I really want kids

No!

Smogtopia · 13/08/2022 22:13

You're not too old.

You will have posters on here saying they and 3/4 kids back go back and didn't start until 42.... but honestly if you want kids and you're in a stable happy relationship then crack on as age isn't on your side especially if you want two.

Also be prepped for the MN mandate to marry first...

No.

Chocolatepringles · 13/08/2022 22:16

Not too old at all! I had my 2nd at 39 and know plenty of people who had kids in their 40's. Go for it.

Tamtam86 · 13/08/2022 22:17

Definitely not too old! Go for it

Whattodooo90 · 13/08/2022 22:18

No way, you’re nowhere near too old

DandelionNumber12 · 13/08/2022 22:19

I'm 37. I have a beautiful, funny 13m old baby boy. You'll be fine 🙂

pilates · 13/08/2022 22:19

No, but I would start trying sooner rather than later

Nadal · 13/08/2022 22:19

Of course you aren't too old. Mid thirties is very common.

vincettenoir · 13/08/2022 22:20

You may be wrong about what your family think. And in any case it’s up to you and your partner, it’s not up to them.

EveSix · 13/08/2022 22:20

Absolutely not too old. That's when I started!

AllyCatTown · 13/08/2022 22:20

No go for it. Ignore family. I had first at 35

EwwSprouts · 13/08/2022 22:20

Heck no!

Coachwork · 13/08/2022 22:21

In many areas it's probably the average age of first time mums now. I have a couple of friends each with reception age children (4/5) and are fifty this year.

Chirmed · 13/08/2022 22:23

Not too old at all!
I had my now 2 yo beautiful son when I was 37. Go for it is worth it xx

Runkle · 13/08/2022 22:23

Hope not, had my first this year at the grand old age of 37..

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 22:23

If you really want kids you should start sooner rather than later

Fertility drops significantly from 30 and takes a nose dive between 35-42

LillyLeaf · 13/08/2022 22:23

I started ttc at 34, not too old at all. I did have trouble getting pregnant but it all worked out in the end. Why do they think it's old?

MondayMoan · 13/08/2022 22:24

No. I was 39 and 41 when I had my two

Aquamarine1029 · 13/08/2022 22:25

Does your partner want children right now?

Numbat2022 · 13/08/2022 22:25

Not too late at all, though you do need to get on with it. Most of my friends had their first at around 35.

AlwaysLatte · 13/08/2022 22:27

Not at all! I had my first at 36 and second at 39. It was totally fine!

pumpkinpie01 · 13/08/2022 22:29

No , but I would start cracking

Yezi · 13/08/2022 22:34

I have two older sisters who started their families at 30 but found partners earlier on in life then I did they constantly tell me I should have settled in stead of living abroad like i did
