So I've just found out today I'm pregnant, super excited however we had a miscarriage back in 2014 and I just can't shake off the feeling like something bad will happen x

@Stephanie226 I've actually just booked a docs appt for a couple of hours' time – it's not really bad at the moment, but something's not right and I don't want it to get nasty. Haha yeah when I have napped on my days off recently I've felt so guilty, but it also feels so good! 🙈Ahh they do say second pregnancies show earlier than first, but maybe it is twins!! I've been getting so bloated in the evenings but I know it is just bloating, no matter how much it looks like a bump! xx

Let me know what they say, better to get checked out and get advice. I can't have a bump just now so it will just be bloat but it's so bad 😂 didn't show until about 16 weeks with my boy x

Well I just had a call through Livi but apparently they can only prescribe antibiotics for UTIs without a sample if you're not pregnant - so I've got to have another call with my local gp (which is near impossible) and try to get a test done🤦🏻‍♀️ If it is a UTI it's definitely mild at the moment so I don't know if it's worth going through that right now - I've had it before where I've definitely had symptoms but a dip test has been clear. Eurgh. Haha yeah I'm not expecting to show properly for ages, but I've never had bloat like I have the last couple of weeks!

I had to speak to pregnancy unit today and I actually don't have a urine infection so I've to go for an emergency scan tomorrow. Im in bits, just cry on and off. Feel like it's happening all over again 💔 x

@Stephanie226 oh no 😩 what time is the appointment? I'll be keeping everything crossed for you. Are you still having those pains? Xxx

It's at 11:20. All my pains feel like a urine infection, right in my stomach and back but she said there's been no growth from the sample I handed in on Monday so to stop antibiotics and go for this scan tomorrow and take it all from there. It's going to be a long 16 hours 🤦‍♀️ just making dinner then going in a bath to soak for a wee while and watch Netflix and get organised incase I need an internal scan 😂 x

Well at least tomorrow you should know what's going on! It doesn't sound like your typical miscarriage or ectopic, so I really hope there's another (better) explanation. It sounds like you're doing all the right things now at least - try to relax as much as you can and stop your mind from catastrophising xxx

SC21 · 28/07/2022 12:42

@Stephanie226 how did it go? I've been thinking of you x

I'm still here but scan is all good thank goodness. Measuring 4 days behind what we thought so 6 weeks 5 days. Waiting on the doc coming to see why they think I have that stuff in my urine but no infection x

SC21 · 28/07/2022 13:54

Oh what a relief! I've been at the docs half the morning myself about a possible urine infection - apparently diptest has showed white cells so they need to do a culture, but I won't have results till Monday so I don't know whether to start antibiotics or not 😩 symptoms aren't too bad at the moment and I really don't want to take them if I don't have to. Let me know what they decide about your case! Xx

The doc told me it would be next week for mine, I phoned the midwife and she accessed the results in 2 days, could you do the same? That's me just finished for my weekend... thank crunchie!!! I'm absolutely beat today, didn't sleep last night and then this morning was so so much emotion and stress x

Apparently it won't reach the lab till late today/early tomorrow and then it's 48hrs for culture and then analysis, so unfortunately I don't think it can be much before Monday 😞 right this second I don't feel too bad, but it's worrying having white blood cells in the sample. It's driving me mad still having 10 days until my scan too 😩 I just want to know things are okay. Ahh I'm not surprised. Hopefully you can sleep better tonight having had that reassurance xx

That's rubbish, but try relax. The stuff in your urine isn't a sign of anything bad except infection which will be solved once your results are back x. I've had my afternoon of calm and now I'm back to worry 😂 I'm at my sons footie match and I'm paranoid incase the ball hits me x

Yeah I just want to know what's going on. Ahh the chances of that happening are pretty slim - and mothers' bodies are pretty good at protecting their babies! Try not to worry (it's so much easier said than done, isn't it?! 😂) xx

Keep me posted on how your feeling, I'm only just home from football, haven't even had a chance to start my new antibiotics yet. Just heading to bed but, car in for mot in the morning x

Ouch, that's a true demonstration of motherly love, staying up that late for football!! How come they've given you new antibiotics if they didn't find an infection? Ahh you gotta love car maintenance. It's on my list to try to wash my car today - one of my LEAST favourite jobs.. Xx

She gave me different ones cos she said she is sure it must be an infection because of my symptoms. Can only try them and see. Once again I asked 3 times if she's sure it won't have any impact on baby 😂. Enjoy your day off, take it easy and hopefully you have nice weather like we do 😁 x

OP posts:
SC21 · 29/07/2022 13:48

Ah okay. Yeah I'm very uneasy - I looked up the ones I've been prescribed and although they are commonly used in pregnancy, they've also been linked to a higher rate of birth defects 😕 I'm trying to avoid taking them at least until I've had the lab results on Monday. Thank you! Yes it's lovely weather here at the moment - I did my car this morning so I feel very virtuous. Now I'm contemplating a nap 😂 hope you have a lovely day too! Xx

Hey you, was just thinking about you earlier. How's your uti? No we got refunded for the scan since we saw baba this week already x

Ahh that's fair enough. I really don't think it is a UTI - symptoms haven't progressed at all, so I think it's to do with my prolapse, which is so much worse than I thought 😩. It's been really affecting me mentally over the last few days 😞 I have a docs appt Wed so I'll see if I can get anything useful out of that. I am worried about the urine sample though as that obviously shouldn't have white blood cells in. I should more info tomorrow 😕 I feel so broken at the moment, I can't lie - and today I've been so utterly exhausted I've spent most of the day in bed, which really isn't like me 😳 how are you doing? Xx

Aw that sounds awful, I really hope they can help with it for now. I'm the same with the tiredness, I was tidying up the house there and sat on the bed for 2 mins and I've just woke up 🤦‍♀️ must have only slept for about 30 mins. It's awful 😂 trying to get my bum in gear to go to Aldi and do the shopping.

To be honest I think all they'll be able to do is refer me for pelvic floor therapy, but I'm going to try my hardest to get that out of them. I'm just so angry and frustrated doctors never took me seriously when I was younger. I was in my teens the first time I went to them about it - I know it's extremely rare to experience it that young, especially if you haven't had a pregnancy, so I understand them being doubtful, but I had multiple risk factors (chronic cough, family history etc) and was 99% sure that's what I was dealing with. They completely dismissed the possibility and have done the same multiple times since. Now it's bad enough that I will definitely need surgery, but the surgery is a horrible procedure with an appalling failure rate (my mum had it done a long time ago and is now worse than she was before) and they also won't do it until after you're done having children.. So for the foreseeable future I just have to try to live with all the horrible effects and pray to god I don't end up completely incontinent. I'm not even 30 - I should not be dealing with this. And it could have been avoided if they'd just taken me seriously sooner 😖 sorry, but of a rant there. Haha food shopping is SUCH a chore right now. I don't really enjoy it at the best of times, but right now with the nausea and fatigue and my fear of getting covid it's just the worst. Hopefully you can relax properly later once it's done! Xx

Holy shit that sounds awful!!! How bad is that but not listening, you hear so many stories like that and they still never seem to learn their lesson. Push for that therapy, do not leave the doctors room until they have put a referral in, they owe you that at least! Is there any private sessions you could get somewhere while you wait? This is funny but... what is your name 😂😂 nearly 100 messages back and forward and I don't even know 😂 Aldi was so bad 😂 left there and went to my mums to pick up my son and just collapsed on her couch and finished watching Spider-Man with them x

Yeah I have a lot of respect and admiration for the NHS and its staff, but as a system it's failed me pretty badly (I also had an eating disorder for a long time growing up, which is what led to my osteoporosis, but when I finally reached out to ask for help they told me it didn't sound like I had a 'real problem' 😒). I am definitely going to try my hardest to get something out of this appointment - it's not just for me now, it's for the safety of this baby. Prolapses can cause real complications. I have looked at private stuff but it's actually really hard to find anything where I am, especially for during pregnancy. My name is Shona 😊 I had been wondering whether we should be talking in this much detail on a public forum, but wasn't quite sure the best way to move off it without making personal details public 🙈 Ahh well you got it done, so you can feel good about that! Literally all day today I've just been working on 20 min stints - one job and then collapse for at least half an hour 😂 It's definitely been the worst day so far for fatigue. I'm in awe of people who go through this and look after children at the same time! Xx
