So I've just found out today I'm pregnant, super excited however we had a miscarriage back in 2014 and I just can't shake off the feeling like something bad will happen x

It's still going unfortunately (on and off) but very light so I'm TRYING not to stress too much – it's so early and I know A&E/ the EUP won't want to know unless it's heavy and/or there's really bad cramping. I just have to wait and hope for the best 😩Ahh that's so lovely, it must be so nice to have it out in the open xx

How are you doing? Been thinking about you today. My headache is bloody unreal tonight, sitting with a hot water bottle on my head 😂😂

Well the spotting continued on and off for most of the day, but didn't get any heavier and in the evening seemed to ease off, so 🤞 if you don't mind me asking, what week did you suffer the miscarriage you mentioned in your original post? Did that start with bleeding?

A hot water bottle in this weather?! 🙈 I'd have thought a cold flannel would be better! Have you ever tried 4head? I don't normally find it gets rid of headaches completely, but it often takes the edge off and because it's topical it's meant to be safe for pregnancy Xx

Stephanie226 · 17/07/2022 09:34

It was bleeding I had but it progressed quite quickly from spotting and it was in week 7. It was that warm here yesterday for us... I'm in Scotland. A hot water bottle seems to help with the sore head when it's at the back and down my neck, don't know why 😂. I used to actually use that 4head stuff and completely forgot about it, going to go get some today xx

That's exactly what my sister-in-law had a couple of weeks ago when she miscarried at 6 weeks – it must be so hard 😔Ahh okay, I'm in the South East – bang on the bright red bits of the weather maps! It's meant to be 38 degrees the next two days 😩Funnily enough I'm actually half Scottish though – my Dad grew up in Stirling. Yeah it's not a perfect solution, but I do find it helps take the edge off certain types of headaches! I've got to head off to my parents' place for a meal soon and I'm dreading it – I'm so nauseous all I want to do is lie in a cool room sucking ginger sweets! xx

Stephanie226 · 17/07/2022 20:15

How did the meal go? Did you manage to enjoy it? I had a call from the midwife today, she was on for an hour just doing all my booking. So I'm going for bloods on Wednesday. She said it's a really good sign that I'm "feeling pregnant", and she worries when folk say they don't have any symptoms. Made it just feel that bit more real 🤦‍♀️ so I'm going to have to tell work tomorrow since I need time off on Wednesday for these blood tests x

SC21 · 18/07/2022 07:42

I couldn't really enjoy the food part, but I got through it so I'm grateful for that! It was the first time my husband, parents and brother/sister-in-law have all been together since our wedding, so I'm glad we could go. Ooh that's really exciting! I'm waiting for a call at the moment – I did my referral last week but they said it could be up to 2 weeks until I hear, potentially longer as it's so early, so we'll see. I'm so nervous about all the tests. I often have blood tests with readings out of range anyway (my health has been one big mystery since I was a teenager – so many problems and they don't know why 😩) and it's terrifying the idea of something being wrong that could affect the baby. Do you have to tell your work the details? Could you not just say blood tests (if you don't want to say anything about the pregnancy yet)? xx

SC21 · 19/07/2022 18:19

@Stephanie226 How did you get on with telling work? xx

Ahh that's good, hope it goes okay! I'm alright, just struggling in this heat! Today has been really unbearable. Symptoms are coming and going a bit which is slightly unnerving but I think normal for this stage. How are you feeling at the moment? Xx

The heat ended me today! Yesterday I was fine but today was so bad! My headaches have eased off so I then hit panic mode 🤦‍♀️ we are never happy 😂😂 I'm 6 weeks today and I've booked a first glimpse scan for next Sunday, I will be 7 weeks 5 x

Ha I know, I've never been in a situation before where I kind of feel worse when I DON'T have symptoms 🙈 it was awful yesterday. It almost hit 40C here - I felt so bad in the afternoon I had to take a break from work to lie down 😬 ooh that's so exciting! I have one booked for 8 weeks, but that's still 3 weeks away for me 😩 I wanted to do 7 weeks but the clinic only does Thursday mornings in my local town and my mother in law has a preop assessment the morning of 7wks - typical! The days are going so slowly 😩 xx

I've had such a sharp pain all day. I stood up in work this morning and it was so sudden it actually took my legs away from me. The pain has stayed but nowhere near as bad. Getting bloods done at 4 so will ask them about it. I've obv talked myself into having an ectopic pregnancy 🤦‍♀️ what are we like 😂😂 xx

Funnily enough I've had cramping today too! And like you, my head goes to the worst possible scenarios 🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully you can get some reassurance when you get your bloods done. Is it one-sided pain? Xx

Bloods were awful, my veins just collapse so she had to try again in the other arm. Got lots of good bedtime reading and vitamins which is good cos I've been buying them. Got my 12 week scan appointment too. She said the pain is very normal as it's the ligaments and everything preparing themselves. Hope your cramping isn't too bad, it's also a pain thats very normal but just makes you panic x

Eurgh I'm sorry, that sounds horrible! Glad you got some reassurance on the pain though. I know it's very normal to feel things, but being my first pregnancy I've got nothing to compare it to and I'm a worrier at the best of times!! Can you remember how long after your referral you heard from the midwife? xx

I phoned on the Wednesday and then on Sunday the midwife phoned me. They told me it would be a week or 2 before I heard anything. I can't even remember anything I felt in my pregnancy with my boy cos it was 13 years ago and I was 18 so was very naive and didn't worry about a thing. I just remember when I had the miscarriage I didn't have any sickness or anything and then just randomly started bleeding one day and 2 days later I was full on miscarrying x

Ah okay, thanks! Yeah it must be really strange having been through it already, but such a long time ago! Do you remember having any symptoms that pregnancy? xx

Sydney0101 · 21/07/2022 07:58

Congratulations, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing to happen to someone 🤍

I had 2 loses after my first, and with my fourth I really struggled to accept or believe and would constantly check if I am bleeding or I wouldn't share the news or buy things because I had that much trauma and anxiety that it was going to happen again and if I get attached, I will get hurt again.

Tbh only midway through second trimester me and DH were like ok this is happening now and then the day she arrived, it was the most magical experience and day of my life.

Unfortunately pregnancy after loss does have those affects and unless it's happened to someone, no one else will understand.

Wishing you all the best in this incredible journey xxx

Not really, just very sore teeth which I've got again but I don't remember being tired and defo wasn't sick or anything. Last day at work today for my weekend (I do all my hours mon-thurs) so got a nice day out tomorrow planned with hubby and our son so hopefully take my mind off stressing for 5 minutes 😂😂 how are you feeling today?

OP posts:

@Stephanie226 that's an interesting one – I haven't heard many people talking about sore teeth! Funnily enough I only work Mon-Thurs too 😊What is it you do? I'm so tired today and my stomach's a bit messed up, but I haven't had proper nausea like last week for several days now! It's so weird – every day seems to bring something new at the moment... xx

It's the strangest thing ever. I googled it and it's an uncommon symptom but I had it last time and the day I tested I woke up and my teeth were agony so I just knew. I'm an early years practitioner which is a nursery teacher really. I work with kids age 2-5 😁 hard job when your not feeling 100% 😂😂 what do you do? x

@Stephanie226 it's so funny how people's bodies react so differently! Oh wow, that must be tough at the best of times, let alone when you're feeling rough! I'm Marketing Manager for a company that does corporate mental health programmes. I'm very lucky in that I work from home 99% of the time and they're incredibly supportive, so I can't complain! xx
