Dear all, back on the land of the living again, doctor thinks the cold hit me harder than the infection, isn’t he a peach ( I’ve been seeing him for 3 months and he’s already rolling his eyes at me) but all is clearing and I actually feel more human, back to work next week, he said to take it easy, so I’ll do the tried and tested approach of refusing to do anything and let him moan, anyway I have the week after off so hopefully I’ll be fine, but doc is on hand to sign more time off if I want it

i have a lot to catch up on, af is definitely here, so we had a 29 day cycle, 2 days spotting and so far 2 days light flow
i did the dla appeal first step so not a total loss of a week, now they have 13 weeks to reconsider the first decision, and if they don’t, I can start the actual appeal, good job we don’t rely on this money to pay the bills, next person that ask if it life wouldn’t be easier if I just stay at home as I would get more benefits, might just not survive (also not cut out to be a housewife)

Soph0105 · 21/05/2022 08:02

Ahhhhh @paintfairy just keep going a day at a time. Easier said than done, I know, but hopefully you can distract yourself enough.

Yay for normal knickers @Minster2012 I am a matching set person and I felt so much better to be back in nice underwear! And how your H isn't under the patio I do not know, cold coffee?!

Hope E played ball for you @DKDK123 😬🤞🏻

So annoying @BellatrixK but glad the Italian took the edge off 😂

Glad you're starting to feel better @Franklydear I would also never be cut out for housewife life!

Argh. I think I might have mastitis. Going to do the responsible thing and dose myself up with painkillers and hope it goes away 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ otherwise it's trying to get an out of hours appointment which you'd definitely need to sell a kidney to get... also I've got a nice big day out planned with lots of mums and babies so just going to soldier on and make myself have the fun I had planned 😬

Vil10 · 21/05/2022 08:40

@larrythelizard @Minster2012 the midwife didn't really say how much the centile matters she just said as long as it's going up which baby seems to have had a good growth spurt from my 20 week scan to my growth scan then that's all that matters, so I'm just going to keep that in mind! Thankyou ladies❤️

@larrythelizard so glad you got to hear that babies heartbeat is okay and definitely right with them moving you might not be able to feel kicks and rolls as much! Even at the scan yesterday I could see baby moving but sometimes couldn't feel it as much! So glad it reassured you though

@Soph0105 oh good, I was thinking should I have had it by now??😂 I think the measurements are so off and inaccurate aren't they!! When do you go back to work??

@Minster2012 I got a letter through after my 20 week scan saying I'll have my first HV visit between 30-40 weeks, so god knows if that'll be 31 or 39🤷🏽‍♀️ Hmm I'm thinking it was too much holiday sex, was very enjoyable though so maybe I don't mind the uti being the consequence! Your day definitely sounds tiring, you're like super woman!! And yess to the normal pants, you look incredible!!

@bez91 She didn't end up coming in the end, and when I saw her last night and showed her the pictures all she said was "omg they're spitting of you (to OH) they have time to change yet though, let's hope it isn't ginger" 😫🤔 I mean for 1 "they have to time to change" is she saying that as in she doesn't think they're cute or?? And 2 neither of us are ginger or have ginger in our family but even so, I think ginger hair is so so lovely and I actually felt offended, so I said to her "I look after so many children with red hair and I love it it's stunning" and her reply was "oh yeah you can get some nice ones but some are awful and you just think the child might get bullied" I just ignored her, honestly I can't cope🤦🏽‍♀️ maybe my urine will come back okay then🤞🏼
Yayyy go Zac!! Also I wouldn't want her around my children either, doesn't sound like a nice person at all, maybe come up with an excuse as to why they can't be there long, like you have somewhere to be??

@paintfairy everything seems to be so fingers crossed🤞🏼 oh that does sound a stressful scan, but like others have said, I tbink early means like 37/38 weeks, I was literally talking to a girl I went to school with yesterday and her baby was always on the 9th centile throughout her pregnancy and she was induced at 38 weeks because baby had only put on 2oz instead of the usual 1lb a week at the end! Glad the fluid and cord is all good and baby was happily moving around! I know it's easier said than done, especially with my worrying these last few days, but try to focus on the positives they've told you, I know it's tough though especially being left 2 weeks!!

@BellatrixK They've sent my urine off to be tested so not sure it definitely is a uti, but hopefully I'll get results back next week! I had my quad test at 15+1, annoying though that they dragged you there and out if work to tell you you can't have it!! It's like they aren't arsed you've had to get cover and waste your time!

@Franklydear glad you're feeling better! Definitely light stuff when you go back to work, you don't want to reverse everything and go back to feeling poorly!! I hope you're back to full health soon though lovely❤️

@DKDK123 ohh that's good to know!! Thankyou!! You seem to be doing great and Emily is just beautiful!!!

Well what a weird day yesterday was full of all sorts of emotions!! OH rang solicitor to get an update, after a few back and forth calls between vendors solicitor and their vendors solicitor, ours rang OH back and said “sorry it’s not good news, the vendors of your vendors are moving into a new build which won’t be ready now until the 5th August”, obviously OH lost his shit at that point, told me, I had a full on ugly crying melt down, with a due date of the 1st august I thought how the f can we wait until the 5th!!! So solicitor said we had to go into office for a meeting at 1:30, we had lasagne scan booked for 1, so I told OH to just go to the office and sort it all out as we got a full video of the whole scan anyway that he could watch, he was gutted but we needed it sorting, so just me and my mum went for the scan! OH on his way to the solicitors office gets a phone call from the solicitor to say the shop next door have had a carbon monoxide leak so everyone has had to evacuate and OH couldn’t go down, so then he was furious because he could’ve come to the scan, but at the point it was already 1:10 and the scan was 20 mins away so he wouldn’t have made it, anyway cutting it down, we now have a date to get the keys for the 9th June, thank the fucking lord!!! Honestly my OH is a wizard, I’m so grateful for his pushy, stubborn ways right now😂😂😂 oh and I loved every minute of my lasagne scan, got such good pictures and we watched the whole dvd together once we both got home! OH is convinced it’s a boy and looks spitting image of him, I had a feeling it was a girl but not so sure now!!

Got a text yesterday morning from my GP to say a prescription for iron tablets are available for me to pick up after recent blood tests so that explains me feeling a bit shitty this last week, still waiting on bloods and urine results to come up on the app though!

Anyway hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, I’m sorting a new phone out today then off to a friends tonight for a takeaway❤️

Minster2012 · 21/05/2022 09:25

Catching up!!

@Vil10 loving the lasagne scan but not your house issues, go OH though! Can't believe the ginger comments, what?? Yeah I only got the date for our HV visit when she phoned the week before. So mine was very much the same as yours. I'm going boy for you!

@BellatrixK god how frustrating, that's not on, so when is it next week then?

@Franklydear glad you feel more human, and you are on top of the DLA thing, god there's so much life admin I need to do!

@Soph0105 did you just go cold turkey on the no boob? How much were you giving him before that? Get yourself some 🥬 cabbage leaves love, what's your fun day?! I think I have some matching sets of undies but certainly not since my boobs became the size of planets there's no hope!

We are in a pool of wee, shit & all the other fun baby stuff here. Last night was hard as DH went to the pub & Bronte decided to be fussy all evening, poo through her clothes (then wee through in the night too) and X had a night terror which was really scary, he was thrashing around & whimpering & crying & I don't think he realised I was there trying to calm him, whilst holding B. Wasn't fun.

If anyone is considering not having a waterproof mattress protector on your baby's bed, I urge you to reconsider 😂

becarefuloutthere · 21/05/2022 11:22

@BellatrixK chubby babies are definitely a must! Your auntie talks sense 😏
What's a quad test?
@Franklydear I'm glad you feel better 😽
@DKDK123 did you pump or did she wake? I hate the massive boobs feelings in the morning. Dreading weaning!
@Soph0105 oh no hun! Hope you can treat it with dosing up. Good luck!
@Vil10 wow that's an emotional rollercoaster! Glad all came good 😊

So my period returned yesterday even tho EBF 😫 and it's awful! Thought I had longer when she's only 11 weeks today. Boo hiss!

bez91 · 21/05/2022 12:45

@BellatrixK he was re-weighed yesterday which was day 12 and just back to birth weight. They said they'd have liked a little more but I really don't care this time round 😆 he will be the size he's meant to be. That's really annoying on the test! Can a week make that much difference for something like that? Sorry you got messed around with work 🤦🏼‍♀️

@DKDK123 snap on that front about both you and DH taking them out, you can tag team. I think we'll be sticking around here Monday when I have them both, Z is a grumpy boy at the moment too need a bit more time getting used to two 😆 the visit from my brother wasn't too bad, he's just one of them people who doesn't know when to leave. Getting up and starting prepping dinner ie both me and DH and he still never gets the hint 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ouch ouch @Soph0105 don't leave it too long if you're in pain, it can be really nasty

Argggh @Vil10 probably better MIL didn't go along with you then, what silly mindless comments! What an absolute pain on the house, glad you're DH got it sorted 💪🏼 one less stress even if he did miss the lasagne scan, you have to take your opportunities with these conveyancing solicitors, they take the absolute pee and in my experience only pull their fingers out at the first sign of a bit of aggression!

@Minster2012 weird, DD also had a night terror last night. Ended up with DH in the spare room again, I haven't shared a bed with him since Z being born but we all need sleep 😴

DH has offered but I might take DD to gymnastics later with Z, he's super grumpy atm so we'll see how that goes 😬

Minster2012 · 21/05/2022 13:09

@bez91 we seem very similar, DH been in spare room this week too when he returned to work so he didn't wake DS up AND because I'm a sweaty hot mess which is totally mingin at night, however he was in with me last night but yeah also DH & DS went off to spare room to snuggle at 5.20 & thankfully they both went back to sleep. Hate it when ppl don't take leave cues

@becarefuloutthere someone else said it was horrible the first time, can't remember who. 2 ppl I know have got pregnant whilst breastfeeding so you need to live up to your username if you don't want another one!

2020mission · 21/05/2022 16:03

@becarefuloutthere that's a surprise I'm almost at 5 months and still no periods! Although deep down I feel it's not great as I'm clearly not fertile 😂 not looking forward to the TTC hell ahead for #2

@Vil10 oh well done to your OH for sorting that! Shocking they try to delay it when clearly it's feasible for you to move in sooner 🙄 i need to remember this when we are house hunting again which will be soon!

feliznavidad2 · 21/05/2022 20:06

Catching up - seems a struggle to keep up at the moment.

@Vil10 glad your lovely OH has sorted it and hope you feel better now you've started on the iron tablets. Had letter through from HV here today for an appointment at home when I'm around 37 weeks...

Sorry to hear last night was tricky @Minster2012 hope you've had a better day today. Impressed you're back in normal knickers lady!

Glad you're getting better @Franklydear

Hope you're as ok as you can be @paintfairy echoing what everyone else has said, the suggestion to deliver baby early wouldn't be made lightly, be kind to yourself lovely. And share you worries with us as you need to, it's a stressful ole time.

Glad to hear Z is doing well @bez91

Hope that you're not getting worse @Soph0105 and have managed to have a nice day. OOH may be the way to go if you're feeling rough though as had a friend who ended up on IV antibiotics with nasty mastitis so always err on the side of caution.

Had a bit of a flap the other day as woke up to small amount of spotting and then had mild period pains, was due to go for repeat GTT anyway so let the midwife know, CTG was fine but they wanted me to be seen on labour ward so I did, they said it's cervical ectropion again and likely worsened by constipation. Doh. Midwife and student MW were really kind though and even made me toast and a cup of tea as hadn't eaten following diabetes test. Which has come back negative again. So goodness knows why baby's tummy is bigger. 🤷‍♀️ Repeat scan in 3 weeks at 36 weeks... can't wait to finish work on Friday now, my legs are just so tired!

larrythelizard · 21/05/2022 20:25

Excellent work little Z getting back to his birth weight @bez91 and Bronte is absolutely smashing it @Minster2012

Pleased that pasta helped the anger @BellatrixK!

Also pleased you're starting to feel better @Franklydear - sounds like light duties at work would be a good idea!

@DKDK123 I'm loving all the pics of Emily and her big bro, you all look so lovely and content and her cheeks are so lovely and smushable!

Eek @Soph0105 mastitis doesn't sound fun, hope you've had a nice day with friends and boobs are less sore?!

Lasagne scan pics were lovely @Vil10 and I'm pleased DP kicked arse and sorted the house, sounds like they're taking the piss a bit knowing you're chain free.

DS had his first night terror relatively recently, it was horrible as he was shouting for me and I was literally cuddling him. Hasn't had one since though so hopefully a fairly rare occurrence.

Oh that's shit @becarefuloutthere I thought EBF would buy you longer without AF! My first one post DS was horrendous but they settled after that.

Pleased SIL was tolerable @bez91 and saw you managed to get DD to gymnastics 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

That sounds a bit scary @feliznavidad2 pleased all is OK and pleased for you that the end is in sight!

DH been out on his jollies with the lads today and I've had a lovely day with DS, even if he did start asking 'why though' about everything!

OP posts:
Soph0105 · 22/05/2022 11:27

Well the mind over matter seems to be doing it's work... feel a bit off still but boob much less sore so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 perhaps it isn't even mastitis and I just have a virus, a sore boob and hypochondria 😂 to answer our Q @Minster2012 i haven't stopped entirely, just during the day, so still BF first/last thing and overnight. So we've cut down but haven't stopped cold turkey. Although now I'm getting tempted to night wean as well, I've got used to getting some sleep and I miss it...

Had a great day out yesterday despite shit weather but now think I need to take it easy after a couple of hectic weeks. Easier said than done with PTSD permanently on the rampage... he cried this morning because I wouldn't let him eat sock fluff off the floor 😂 he's also bum shuffling like a champion which is hilarious but also irritating AF because he's permanently on the move now...

Shit luck @becarefuloutthere I'm 7 months in and no sign so far 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hope you're ok @feliznavidad2 what a faff!

Franklydear · 22/05/2022 11:58

Right, ladies, i will ask you to join me in crazy world, af, had at least some bleeding for 3 days, not all day, nothing yesterday evening, slept without a pad, went to the loo at 11, and big bash of red blood in paper, nothing since, so the plan: hold for 4 hours, test, found a cheapie thank god( to eliminate but also no bits in blood, still big boobs, was sick last night and some pulling cramps, but all explainable by illness too) and I’ll call the work gp insurance, nhs no go, hard enough to the seen for asthma, my period is weird won’t take me anywhere

Franklydear · 22/05/2022 15:07

Test negative, off to the doc with me

becarefuloutthere · 22/05/2022 17:17

Thanks for the sympathy ladies and shows how tired and hormonal I am cos she's 12 weeks, not 11 🤦🏾‍♀️ 🤪
She started to sleep through the night so think that triggered the hormone but she wakes again now so I'm defo bring trolled 😂
@Franklydear sorry it was negative! Hope you got/get an appointment.
@Minster2012 I wouldn't mind an "accidental pregnancy" beats ttc for another 20 months then ivf, although we've had sex once since the baby so should prob step it up eh 😂 I think a 2 year age gap is what we'll likely go for and use one of our embryos.

What a glorious sunny day, enjoy all!

DKDK123 · 22/05/2022 19:06

'Don't cry over spilled milk......but what about when the spilled milk is this much? 😭 Driving back from visiting my parents and friends, it's nearly a 2hour drive so I sat and expressed in the car, was proud of my on the go achievements till I spilled it all over my leg 🤦‍♀️
Was such a lovely day tho, went to show my best friend the baby and when I turned up she'd invited some of my other friends round and had decorated the place with banners and balloons and had loads of food set up, I was so touched 🥰

@Vil10 your lasagne scan is so clear it's fab! So frustrating on the house but glad your DH got a date sorted, you don't need that kind of stress hanging over you!

@Minster2012 not only do we have waterproof mattress protectors on DD and DSs beds we also put one on ours as we learned that mistake from DS crawling into our bed and making a mess when he was younger 🙈
I hope you made DH suffer this morn with the children and a hangover for leaving you to deal with it all!

@becarefuloutthere what rotten luck on the early return of AF! I'm dreading it returning, it was one of the perks of being pregnant! And now that I've been steralised AF is going to be even more annoying as it serves no purpose. Hope you've not been suffering too badly with her return.

@bez91 thats good that he's back to birth weight. As you said some kids are just meant to be small, as long as hes eating, sleeping, pooing and peeing then nothing else really matters. We'll get each other through our solo flights next week.

@feliznavidad2 you must have gotten such a fright with the spotting and cramping, glad it was nothing serious. They were confused when I passed the GT test too but DD was measuring abnormally big. Then a few weeks later she was dropping down the percentiles and they were worried about that but she was a great weight when born. I think the measurements seem to put so much unnecessary worry on mums for the majority of the time as they're not accurate that maybe it's one of those things that they should keep to themselves and monitor in the background as they seem to be inaccurate more than they turn out to be right!

@Soph0105 fingers crossed its not mastitis and you're just feeling a but run down after a busy time. Uh oh with child on the move tho, now the real fun begins when they're not where you put them down 😂

@Franklydear with you being feeling so poorly lately that can cause havoc with your periods too. But def keep on at the GP as well.

whatwonder · 23/05/2022 09:45

hi everyone! sorry, have been such a shit passenger lately, really struggling to keep up. had my last week of work last week and it was absolutely mental, but officially on maternity leave now, whooop!

glad to hear babies are putting on weight and doing well @Lexber @bez91 @Minster2012

@DKDK123 so lovely about Emily's middle name, sure that meant so much to your mum. And yes, definitely valid to be upset about spilled breast milk!

@Vil10 glad the scan went well, and that OH was able to get the house stuff sorted, that is so stressful!

@paintfairy hopefully baby can stay cooking as long as possible, when is your next scan?

@Juno231 the absolute nerve of that woman! honestly, can everyone just stop commenting on other people's bodies, full stop (especially pregnant bodies!)

@Soph0105 hope you're able to dodge mastitis and are feeling better soon!

@Franklydear sorry about AF, were you able to get a dr appt?

coming up close to my due date and feeling excited but absolutely terrified. trying to relax as much as possible, but also do some cleaning/prep/batch cooking/panic learning about hypnobirthing now cos it was on my list for ages and never got round to it :/

Juno231 · 23/05/2022 09:58

@whatwonder there's still time for hypnobirthing! What are you batch cooking? I've started making a list of things I might want to make closer to the time

@Vil10 your lasagna scan looked perfect! Sorry if I missed it but did MIL manage to come in the end?

Well done on all the fat babies in here!

But boo for stupidly early periods?? Wtf.

@DKDK123 I'd definitely cry over the spilt milk 😅

Woke up today super dizzy and nauseous - presumably low blood pressure? Ended up being sick just now - first time this pregnancy!

whatwonder · 23/05/2022 10:06

@Juno231 first time being sick, woah! you feeling better now? make sure to get plenty of rest and drink lots of water (I know it's mega obvious, but especially with how humid it's been lately it's easy to get dehydrated!)

I've made a big thing of chicken stock (will drink as broth or use as a base for soups/stews/curries, etc.) and made a massive thing of curry last night, then plan on making a veg chilli, a lasagne, some sausage rolls, savoury scones (inspired by @Minster2012 ). open to suggestions for other things that freeze well and are convenient to eat in the newborn fugue state! 🙃

Minster2012 · 23/05/2022 10:15

Catching up whilst dog walking, they seem to have remembered that white noise means walkies 😝

@Juno231 you need to be careful & make sure you look after yourself, too much stressing about work & eveything will make you more sick & no one wants that

@whatwonder there's def still time to do the things you want, and now that's it, officially thinking about baby time!

@DKDK123 that's quite a lot of spilled milk and annoying to be on your outfit too, but what a lovely surprise from your friends 😍

@becarefuloutthere yes you are totally right about the accidental pregnancy being a good thing but it can't be an immaculate conception! But sleeping through (even occasionally) is great well done you guys!

@Franklydear I hope you've got an appointment?

@larrythelizard but why though??? Ha ha yes we have this, it takes all my scraps of patience to answer the twelfty million questions politely and calmly

@2020mission it doesn't mean at all not fertile, it means your body is concentrating on M & using its energy there so that's fine, do you think you'll start TTC quite quickly or leave it?

It's your last week as well @feliznavidad2 boom!! Glad all is ok it's scary stuff constantly

@Soph0105 I think if you night weaned he'd sleep through as you seem to have his day time naps nailed. Just sayin but pleased the boob ache is easing up, god when they start to move they all of a sudden go like lightening so watch it!

On that note DH & I got a bit frisky the other night & as I was saying "get a condom" it was too late & he literally then went "god I hope I don't get you pregnant" well darling you need to talk to the doctor about making sure that doesn't happen then, and I think I'm going to get the mirena coil too

This is officially the slowest dog walk ever

Minster's 8th Side Car - Best not let the men see our post-partum bodies eh?!
Minster2012 · 23/05/2022 10:35

Def the scones & cheese straws are all gone here @whatwonder, I'm very impressed on your stock/broth, depends what kind of things you want but millionaires shortbread freezes really well & my MIL does it in really small bite size squares which basically you can kinda eat half frozen so that's a good one. The other thing I'm loving which i froze is nadiya Hussain's chicken schwarma meat. As it's one that requires marinating previously I cba to do that now but I have precooked a load & portioned it & then all you need is wraps /veg/salad for the side & it's a really nice not unhealthy or heavy meal

bez91 · 23/05/2022 10:41

Good to hear you have a plan for #2 @becarefuloutthere 🥰 we need to have a serious think about contraception before my 6 week check up but I think 🍆 is a way off yet 😬😆 they definitely lead you into a false sense of security don't they, nothing is ever permanent - the goalposts just change!

@DKDK123 I would cry too, how annoying! That's really nice of your friend too, I second the waterproof mattress on parents bed too! You're doing super with these long journeys despite the spilt milk.

Happy maternity leave @whatwonder try and take as much time to chill as possible as they could be here anytime now.
I'm guessing 💙

That's rubbish @Juno231 Hope some food sorts you out? I was sick randomly once in pregnancy around about the same stage then never again until labour 🤷‍♀️ have renovations now started on your house?

@Minster2012 your morning seems similar to mine, just been out with buggy and DD in tow on bike. She doesn't like going up or down hill so ended up pushing them both 🙄 I'd ambitiously squeezed into some prepregnancy jeans, quickly back home and into my comfies again! So what if you were pregnant again 😂

2020mission · 23/05/2022 10:58

@Minster2012 😂 wouldn't that be typical getting pregnant so easily after all the time spent trying? We aren't going to try again until next spring as we don't really want two under 2. I'm also going to try and find a new job later in the year and we will be moving too so a lot going on. I'm not holding out too much hope on having another as it took 16 months before and I'm getting less fertile as the years pass. I'm just glad to have Matthew for now!

@Juno231 Hopefully a one off episode for you since you've got so far with no sickness! I was only ever feeling sick never physically was during pregnancy thankfully.

@DKDK123 I feel your pain with the milk spillage, it's always a disaster but we all do it 😂 unavoidable at times.

Quick AIBU to hit you all with while I'm here... in laws visited Matthew yesterday and turned up with a HUGE framed photo collage of 3 photos of them with Matthew as a newborn for us. AIBU to think that it's rude to throw such a massive thing on someone expecting them to hang it on their wall? Our flat is tiny too. There's not even a photo of my husband and me with Matthew on it! I absolutely hate it 😂 help. They also turned up and asked for wine as usual and sat holding Matthew in one hand and necking their wine in the other on a Sunday afternoon while I'm not drinking (still breastfeeding so avoiding drinking much). They treat our place like a bar. My mum and dad only ever have a cuppa when they visit and they also bring snacks for us rather than turn up expecting to be catered for. /rant over

paintfairy · 23/05/2022 11:03

I need to catch up. But holy crap am I having the worst day ever. I am not a functional person. How on earth I'm meant to look after anyone else I've no bloody idea.

So- firstly I've been awake most the night. I woke at 12 with annoying hands and feet. So I couldn't sleep and got up and laid on the settee to cool down. Then I started getting pains. I always assume its the baby pushing out as I get hard lumps but I'm not sure if it's actually braxton hicks? 🤷‍♀️ I kind of thought that would be symmetrical and all over but I've read it can be not, so I dunno. But it was bad for about 2 hours and kept coming and going (lasts like a minute). Its like a hard lump bottom right and then another higher up on the left above where my belly button is.
Finally went to sleep when it eased. But it was still happening when I woke up. It has been better since though. I think I've felt the baby move too as I was worried I hadn't yet today. God.
I ordered a blood check finger thing on next day delivery from boots on Thursday. Hasn't come. So I went to boots earlier and just bloody bought one. As the consultant is ringing at 3pm and I wanted to check it before she did as I'm going to push for a diabetes test if its not right. Shittest thing ever. Pricked my finger 1000 times even on the highest setting and it wasn't giving enough blood apparently. Wasted 9 of 10 strips. 🙄 Finally got a reading of 5.5 which isn't great as a fasting result as far as I can gather. I then tried to boil eggs (hate eggs) to have 1 with slice of toast (so I can retest after). I have no idea how to do this so rang my mum. 🤭 Managed to break one egg putting it in the pan (realised after i should use a spoon) and then as I got another out to use i dropped that on the floor. 🤬 Honestly.

I needed to do 100 things this morning and haven't. 🙈

Trying to catch up isn't easy at the minute, apologies for my rubbishness 🙄😔🤦🏽‍♀️

Well the twinkles are now official at 5 weeks and 4 days old 💖💙 but a 9am appointment was tough especially after last night!! I think I may have gotten an hour sleep max in broken bits, I actually laid upside down in the bed head next to the cot at 7am crying because I knew my alarm was going off at 7.30 (everything was packed night before and next feed due 9am).. sat night I got 2 hours... so when she asked how to spell the names I really had to think 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Elsie is struggling even more so, we are in bottle 3 of saline drops and she's now struggling with feeding and generally not herself so I run the drs this morning and they've just rung back and I'm taking her to bed seen at 11.45. I've packed bags in case we end up being sent to the hospital for checks and monitoring with her being only 1 week corrected and 6 and A half lb in weight... I'm hoping not BUT with 2 newborns I'd rather have the changing bag ready to go with several feeds worth of milk, nappies and clothes!!

Exhaustion has hit a whole new level now, they're both still an absolute dream but the lack of sleep I'm really struggling with now.

On the plus side we DTD last night 🎉 @Minster2012 I should have known you'd have been at it already 🤣🤣🤣
when at drs I'm going to enquire/book an appointment for OH for the snip because I won't be going back on contraception (using condoms for now) and I DEF don't want anymore babies - 4 is enough for me!!

I hope everyone is ok? I'm going to try and be a little better on here, hopefully E let's me! And my brain functions enough to respond 🤣🤣

Oh @DKDK123 id have def cried over that milk!! And what a lovely friend you have!
@Franklydear did you manage to sort a drs appointment out?

My cat has firstly been trying to steal my breakfast then decided he wants in on the cuddle action 🤣🤣 he's a little sod

@whatwonder I'm brain splurging now but banana bread also great to freeze already sliced with grease proof paper in between each slice so you can take a slice out at a time, I've done that before to put slices in lunchboxes

@bez91 oh god yes I refuse to take a bike out, he either walks or tough titties! I'm pleased to be home though the dogs have had a lovely walk...I didn't bother to get out of my lounging trousers so you did more than me 😝I mean it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got pregnant, but we don't actively want another child & i can't go through the heart ache again...I'm also worried that I had a good pregnancy despite my many problems & how it could have been very different so we don't want to risk it

@2020mission ah yes the moving I forgot about that, makes sense totally. YANBU to say to them "that will look great on YOUR wall, cos it's not got us on it so can't be for here?" However, I totally think change 2 of the pictures saying "well it makes sense to have one of you guys, one of my parents & one of us, especially as we have limited wall space for hanging pictures" I would def change the pictures.

@Lexber Me?? DTD??? I think I'm just a horny cow 🐄😝but it's not just me then! I think you are doing so well, here's hoping E is ok but def agree better to be prepared with the bag.

@paintfairy and breathe! Did you manage to sort an egg out in the end? It's surprising what you can do when you don't feel like a functional person at all! The hard lumps yes are then pushing out, I got them a lot and I didn't like it (plus it proper freaked DH out)

@bez91 it's interesting you say about your 6 week check cos I'm annoyed this morning as I phoned the doctor to try book me & her checks in, and also ask how I get sighed off for safe for driving...well my doctor says they don't do checks until 8 weeks (for us both) & so can discuss then. I can't wait 8 weeks to drive?! So I asked more & they said it's nothing to do with them & speak to my consultant. Errrr you don't have a consultant after birth?? And our insurance is fleet insurance so doesn't specifically say anything about operations other than "ensuring drivers are fit to drive" so I'm guessing it's ok to do it when I feel ok?? Gonna leave til this weekend I think (4 weeks)

I'm on sorting admin jobs today.gonna try apply for a passport for her (taking a picture of a 3 week old for a passport is HILARIOUS) I might try put pictures up on Insta for your amusement along with X's baby passport mug shot

Ooo also we had a bath yesterday, X wouldn't let Bronte in her own bath on her own so it was a bath for me, Bronte & xander. Part lovely, part stressful part bonding experience 😝
