@InvisibleDragon I feel really similar, not quite ready to be buying stuff but also feel almost resentful when we are given stuff as it means I won't be able to choose, although I'm also partly glad to have the pressure off!? So definitely a bit conflicted!

We are getting hand me down clothes, changing table, pram, car seat (buying new covers - it's my sisters so definitely safe), next to me, and then we have a pram from when my siblings and I were babies which will be for baby to sleep in when we're downstairs. So I'll need to get a couple of new mattresses to be extra safe but other than that I'm starting to think I might not actually need to buy anything!? I feel really grateful to be getting so much stuff for free but part of me would like to choose at least something!

@JAR1981 time definitely isn't dragging like it did in first tri! I keep losing track of weeks which I thought would never happen.

@AlbatrossSociety @invisbledragon
Ive bought a few items like crib and changing table as they were a great bargain and didnt want to lose out. Need to buy new mattress

I was never given a growth chart as there was noone to complete this when I went for my 20 week scan so no idea where baby's measurements fit in.
I can only find charts from birth, does anyone have any charts I can use to look this up?

fpeg · 08/02/2022 11:43

@Clueless22 someone else posted this: srhr.org/fetalgrowthcalculator/#/
It matches the percentile for growth that I got on my NHS paperwork (based on unknown gender - percentiles change if you know the gender, you can just tick the box 😊)

pregnancydiaries · 08/02/2022 11:51

Did anyone else not get given exact measurements and percentiles at 20 week scan? All I got told was that everything looked fine and some pictures 😅

Prema112 · 08/02/2022 11:59

@pregnancydiaries I wish I'd just had that to be honest!

fpeg · 08/02/2022 12:08

@pregnancydiaries I read the measurements on my paperwork, didn't get discussed at scan itself other than to say all was ok. Only percentile the paperwork refers to for me is estimated foetal weight. I didn't even think to look at the measurements until everyone else started talking about them, then I became curious 😂

aus12 · 08/02/2022 12:15

For those that have bought maternity clothes, how do they work sizing wise? Like with maternity jeans/tights do you just buy your usual size or do you size up? Same with tops, do you size up? I haven’t needed to buy any yet but have a H&M discount so was looking at buying something to wear for later in the pregnancy or maybe even some nursing tops but unsure what size to get.

fpeg · 08/02/2022 12:18

@aus12 I just got my usual size. All have been fine so far, if anything I've found that some things seem to have been made with slightly more room on top of the maternity space 😊

Lostintranslatio · 08/02/2022 12:32

@aus12 I have bought my usual size.

AlbatrossSociety · 08/02/2022 12:36

@aus12 I sized up and everything is huge haha. I ended up having to send most of it back so definitely try normal size!

Very useful - thank you!

MrsTwentyNine · 08/02/2022 12:41

@Prema112

I'm 23+6 today and I'm finding it so weird to think that today my baby is not recognised as a legal person and if I lost him today it would still be classed as miscarriage, but at midnight tonight he becomes a legal person! I know there has to be a cut off date for this to happen but it's just strange!
I think about this too It also applies for maternity leave as I only get maternity leave if past 24 weeks ... Otherwise usual sickness rules apply if God forbid the worst happens Dark thoughts but also strange how it all works
InvisibleDragon · 08/02/2022 13:19

@AlbatrossSociety yes, that's exactly it! Feeling vaguely resentful but also guilty about not being grateful. Or something.

I think I'm overthinking it!

What's everyone doing about baby monitors? We live in a flat so I'm not sure we even need one?

pregnancydiaries · 08/02/2022 13:47

@fpeg I didn't even get any paperwork 😂 oh well I'll just assume no news is good news xx

Whatcanmyusernamebe · 08/02/2022 14:02

Same here @pregnancydiaries no paperwork and not told any measurements at all. They didn’t say anything was wrong with baby so I’m happy with that. Wouldn’t have even thought about knowing measurements if others hadn’t mentioned them.

fpeg · 08/02/2022 14:49

@Whatcanmyusernamebe @pregnancydiaries are you guys in Scotland? One of my co-workers said she didn't get anything because in Scotland computer records available to all medics. In England/Wales computer system not centralised hence why everyone gets given the paperwork to carry round with them. If it's not that then I have no idea 🤷‍♀️

pregnancydiaries · 08/02/2022 14:51

@fpeg yeeees I'm in Scotland! That makes sense then. I'm thinking the same @Whatcanmyusernamebe not told anything to worry about so can't panic about measurements!

Lostintranslatio · 08/02/2022 16:13

@InvisibleDragon I wasn't planning on getting a baby monitor. We also live in an apartment and our bedroom is beside the living area, so I don't see the point in getting one for now.

PeeAche · 08/02/2022 16:23

@pregnancydiaries I wasn't told measurements but they have been entered into my BadgerNotes

OP posts:
Jammymare · 08/02/2022 16:31

@PeeAche

Where are the measurements showing in your badger notes app please? I can’t find anything for mine ad I wonder if I’m looking in the wrong place.

PeeAche · 08/02/2022 16:43

Maternity Record > Ultrasound Scans

And then just scroll down to the bottom.

InvisibleDragon · 08/02/2022 16:52

@Lostintranslatio this is also my thinking. Also, I find the video ones a bit creepy!

Thanks @fpeg this is super useful 👍
