Hey everyone, interested to know how you are all getting on.
I'm 33+4, second baby. Got a five year old.
Bit worried about coping with the hummer heat plus my daughter off on school hols whilst being heavily pregnant.
I'm also getting stitch pains on left and right side, lower down. Assume this is round ligament pain? Didn't have it with my first.

Would love to r

Sorry my text box wasn't working, was trying to finish with I'd love to hear from you. Good updates, bad updates, moan up, getting excited etc. Just would be nice to speak with other mums in this stage right now.

A little earlier here at 32 weeks, feeling like a whale at the moment. Shattered and not ready for baby to arrive yet! Also have a nearly one year old! He’s brilliant, just very active so constantly following him around picking up after him or moving him away from where he shouldn’t be Grin

Also getting similar pains to you that I never had with my first.

Hope you’re getting rest when you can OP x

Morning WeAllLikeVindaloo
Nice to hear from you. What does OP mean?

I defo think a five year old is easier than a one year old! Bless you. Mine daughter picks stuff off the floor for me and tries to do my shoes up for me.
Kind of relieved you are having the stitch thing too.

It's funny with the bump size/stretching thing. Some weeks I feel fit to burst, this week I don't feel too huge. I guess more relaxin hormone or body adjusting to the stretching?

How's everyone else? Let's get a chat going.

I've been on mumsnet just reading posts my whole pregnancy. It's so reassuring and nice to not feel alone! I did notice hardly any new threads so thought I'd set this up for mums right now, end of July 2021

Hey! I'm 32 and currently 34+4 at the moment and feeling ok so far :-). Really didn't enjoy the heat we had but now it's cooling down I am feeling much better :-). FTM so it's all new to me, just going with the flow at the moment :-)

Zogster · 25/07/2021 08:38

Welcome Spin4Gin :)
Yes this cooler weather is so much better! I heard we're meant to have a heat wave first two weeks of August though? 😭

I spent evenings last week in my daughter's paddling pool! We also went swimming in the sea which was amazing! First pregnancy swim!

Thanks :-). Another heatwave does not sound fun :-(. We are off to a wedding this week and the hotel we are staying in has a pool and I am so looking forward to going for a swim! Haven't been in such a long time and it's going to be great haha. If I can fit in to my cossie Confused

Hi, I’m 35+4 with first baby…also been having sharp stretching pains low down in either left or right side.
Have had constant heartburn since eating pizza on Friday night - enjoyed it at the time but have regretted it ever since!
Husband is working today and I’m being really lazy, watching Netflix in bed!

Zogster · 25/07/2021 22:12

Lemongrass your day sounded nice! I've been totally wiped today too. Do you find that? Some days it's like wading through treacle. Looking forward to getting my body back to myself and hopefully feeling more normal, albeit sleep deprived with a newborn!

How are everyone's movements at this stage? I keep panicking about reduced movements or smaller movements. Certainly the last few weeks he's not booting me as hard but he's moved from head down to breech so maybe that's it?
I've been in once at 27 weeks for reduced movement but he moved loads on the machine. Perhaps I was just busy and didn't connect with him/tune in enough that time.

I'm wondering whether to go on today for a check. I've had the stitch pain for the last hour on my left lower side.

I'll update later but interested if you have this too? Or find yourself anxious about what could go wrong?
Xx

Hi Everyone! I'm 35+6 and feeling every week of it at the moment! Plus I know 3 babies that have been born in the last 4 days so feeling rather jealous 😆

To be honest, I could cope with a heatwave before baby comes - I'm just dreading being in labour in 30-odd heat....

If you're worried OP give your midwife a call, I've been getting a stitch if I've been walking. It could be because of how you were lying over night?

Zogster · 26/07/2021 08:01

Hey cocoqueen,

Lol I bet you are feeling every inch of it! Not too long left for you!

I keep wishing he'd come early so a) I can stop worrying about there being a problem and b) so we can meet him NOW! lol

My midwife is a bit chilled so I'll might ring triage instead.

With the stitch feelings... Its keep getting them both sides in the last few weeks. This time was looong and didn't relieve for ages. Still a bit twingy now after walking up and downstairs and moving around generally

Lemongrass9 · 26/07/2021 08:19

@Zogster definitely get checked up if you are worried about movements, it’s always better to just go and be seen rather than sit at home worrying.

Totally get what you mean about wading through treacle! Sometimes it’s not so bad but other days feels like I can’t do anything and I’m in a brain fog.

@Chocoqueen I think you are just one day ahead of me. I feel the same about labour in heat!

Chocoqueen · 26/07/2021 08:37

@zogster I feel the same way about coming early! I finish work middle of next week so if s/he could come the week after I'd be happy with that!

@Lemongrass9 I'm due on the 24th August, so you must be the 25th?

Smurftastic · 26/07/2021 08:40

I'm 33+3 according to NHS (although I'm pretty sure I'm more 32+5 but I guess it doesn't really matter that much!). I've noticed change of movement in the past couple of weeks, my guess is baby has less space for jump kicking me and she moved head down. She still sometimes moves to transverse but it feels awful when she does! I was close to calling MAU a couple of days ago but managed to get her moving by putting some frozen stuff on my belly... sorry baby! I read August in UK is going to be cooler than average as well, possibly no more heatwaves. Fingers crossed as it was AWFUL.

TitchGreen · 26/07/2021 13:44

Hey all, 33+5 here, and I've had enough, I just need her out already!!!
Her movement is insane, it's constant, I'm only little, I don't have enough space for this.
It's still sunny here, we've not had any of the rain yet, I feel like the weather is laughing at me.

Lemongrass9 · 26/07/2021 19:31

@Chocoqueen yes I’m due 25th August. Getting very very real all of a sudden.
Pretty much ready for baby just got work to finish off.

@Smurftastic I really hope what you read about August being cooler than average is true!

@Zogster how are you getting on, did you call triage in the end?

Zogster · 26/07/2021 19:33

Hey everyone,

So he started booting me and has carried on today. Got the midwife on Wed so will mention it but feel better about it for now!

OP posts:
Mariposa123 · 26/07/2021 19:38

Can I join? I’m 34+4 with a very demanding 2 year old! I’m definitely feeling like I’m starting to slow now - I’m having to make sure I pace myself when walking and got tired out standing to cook the other day. Also heartburn and rib pain is getting worse.

So much movement going on? My whole stomach shakes! Also I can feel baby hiccups which is quite strange but also cute!

llemma · 26/07/2021 19:44

Hello. I'm 33+4. Absolutely melting in the heat and my lungs are a bit squished so breathing is fun!

Zogster · 26/07/2021 20:40

Mariposa, I feel for you. Walking is tough now. Standing is worse! Do you find your feet hurt? My feel a bit swollen and sore!

Llemma, I find the heat/humidity zaps what's left of my energy and the breathing gets harder, particularly with a mask on.

Anyone getting weird dizzy/wobbly/queasy spells too? Xx

OP posts:
Chocoqueen · 26/07/2021 20:55

@Lemongrass9 I know how you feel! I had a massive wobble yesterday morning which I think worried my husband quite a bit. How long do you have left at work?

Glad baby is kicking again @Zogstar. I haven't had any dizzy spells but the acid reflux is driving me crazy at the moment, and causing me to feel more nauseous. I honestly thought I was going to throw up stomach acid last night, which isn't a nice feeling at 2am. Luckily I had some gaviscon downstairs so ended up taking some of that.

I'm hoping the cooler August predictions are true! I thought today was quite comfortable, at least in the evening when I went outside. And it's meant my one swollen ankle has gone back to normal size.

Lemongrass9 · 27/07/2021 09:29

@Chocoqueen I’m self-employed and WFH so I’m not stopping work until baby arrives but starting to wind down a bit now so only little jobs to do.

Glad baby is moving nicely now @Zogster

I really feel for all you ladies with older children to look after as well, it must make things so much harder!

Smurftastic · 27/07/2021 10:11

@Zogster My feet only get a little swollen but I'm trying to sit down as much as possible, as I'm getting very painful pressure down below, both on the bottom of my spine and at the front Blush. I get quite dizzy as I'm getting short of breath a lot, especially after going up the stairs.
@Lemongrass9 I have a 3.5 year at home for the summer half-term, plus we're trying to finish off our bedroom before the baby arrives and it's tough. She wants to play with me all the time, I can barely move off the sofa Sad
