Hey everyone, interested to know how you are all getting on.
I'm 33+4, second baby. Got a five year old.
Bit worried about coping with the hummer heat plus my daughter off on school hols whilst being heavily pregnant.
I'm also getting stitch pains on left and right side, lower down. Assume this is round ligament pain? Didn't have it with my first.

Would love to r

@Zogster weirdly by legs and feet are okay and relatively normal size! But on the other hand I’m getting out of breath and my back hurts for the rest of the day if I overdo the walking. Had to rush up a hill to my midwife appointment this morning and needed time to get my breath back.

I have been having woozy spells, I think it must be the heat and me not remembering to drink much.

Mariposa123 · 27/07/2021 10:43

I got asked today if I’d packed my hospital bag, felt shamed that I hadn’t even thought about it yet! Haha this poor second baby is already neglected

Chocoqueen · 27/07/2021 11:02

@Mariposa123 don't worry... I'm a bit ahead of you and only packed mine last weekend. Still not convinced I've got everything...

Zogster · 27/07/2021 19:04

Ah my hospital bag is half packed. This time I've done a separate one for the baby too, to make it easier for my husband to sort out between our things.

I've been hectic with work today and yesterday had my second moderna jab which made me ache and gave me a fever.
My bump is sore. He's still kicking but I just can't shake the feeling he's gotten quieter. I've got the mw tomo so will see what she says but think it might be worth popping down to antenatal for monitoring. I don't think I can relax otherwise!

I also feel this time my bump isn't as big. Like I can bend more and move more easily. With my daughter I had terrible indigestion from 24 weeks but this time at 34 weeks tomo I'm fine. Weird.

Smurftastic · 27/07/2021 19:18

@Zogster I'm feeling quite different to my first pregnancy too. I feel much more tired but indigestion is also nowhere near as bad. I blame it on a different time of the year, as my first was a late November baby, so food I ate was much heavier. I also had horrendous pain in my right hip whereas now it's all in my tailbone. I have midwife in 2 days' time, I have to ask her about tiredness as I can barely move off the sofa. Have my second Pfizer jab next week so hope I won't get too many side effects as I feel awful as it is... Sad

Zogster · 27/07/2021 19:28

Hey Smurf,

That's reassuring to hear in a weird way. I had a girl with red hair first time. I think the indigestion was to do with the hair? They say that don't they? Not sure on the science of it though! Sounds flaky!

This time we're having a boy. With dd pregnancy was easy. With this one I've had a ton of complications and tests.

Weird how different it can be!

If it helps my side effects were short lived like 24 hours. It's worked through it out of choice as it's my last week at work and I have a lot to wrap up
Ideally I'd have had a quiet day. Our childcare arrangements fell through so we've had dd at home so been juggling with work. Glad I feel better today and she's off to grandparents tomo!

I mean side effects of vaccine, sorry that wasn't clear!

Also smurfette, meant to add I totally get the fatigue thing. Some days it's like I never fully wake up and just trudge through the day! I also go to bed earlier now, like 10pm but find I'm so over tired I get restless and emotional and often cry like a overtired child! Lol

@Smurftastic must be so difficult with your little one, you are doing amazing.

I have packed my hospital bag this week too, keep adding and changing things though.

I’ve got a scan tomorrow and feeling very excited to see baby again, not sure if we’ll be able to see much though - pretty sure there isn’t much room in there!

Zogster · 27/07/2021 20:36

Good luck for tomo @Lemongrass9

Is that a 36 week growth scan? At my 32 week one we could still see him OK.

OP posts:
Lemongrass9 · 28/07/2021 13:34

Thank you @Zogster just got back from scan…it was to check the location of my placenta as it was low at my 20 week scan but it has moved so not a problem at all.
They did a growth scan as well and the estimated weight is 5lb 13oz so will see how accurate that was when he gets here.

Hope everyone is doing okay today ☺️

Zogster · 28/07/2021 18:55

Oh @Lemongrass9 that's such good news! And how exciting!!

OP posts:
Smurftastic · 28/07/2021 21:28

@Lemongrass9 I also had a low placenta at 20 weeks! I had an extra growth scan at 28 due to a small bump- everything was fine, baby likes to lie sideways which skews measurements. My placenta moved by then and I was getting so worried.

@Zogster I think it would help if I slept more than 5-6 hours a night. It's a bit better now it's cooled down, but last night I woke up to a massive cramp in my leg, then my 3yo decided to have an early day...

I've my 34 week midwife appointment tomorrow, I haven't started my hospital bag yet! I got some of the supplies at least.

Zogster · 28/07/2021 22:01

Good luck tomo @Smurftastic
I had my 34 week appointment today. Was reassuring to hear his heartbeat again.
Two more days of work left for me... Woohoo!

I'm 34+1 here... due on September the 7th with a 4 year old already.

Definitely getting to the business end of the pregnancy now... bending over to tie shoes up is starting to get a bit challenging!
Kicks have all been fanny daggers this week, which has been mostly unpleasant!
34 week midwife check on Friday - not been seen since 28 weeks, so quite looking forward to the check in :-)

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 29/07/2021 06:26

@SillyBry crazy how little appointments you have with your second isn’t it! Seems like forever between them.

Definitely feeling your pain of bending down etc, it’s a mission! Hope all goes well with your appointment.

SillyBry · 29/07/2021 07:12

@WeAllLikeVindaloo it really is! I don’t feel like I necessarily needed more appointments… but I definitely mark the pregnancy off with appointments… so it feels funny not having that many!
Although I think they are fairly regular from here at least.
It’s the assumption I should know what I’m doing… my last baby is 4 years old, it was a very long time ago now and I’ve blanked it all out of my brain 🤣🤣

Mariposa123 · 29/07/2021 08:33

Yes it is weird isn’t it how they appear to just leave you to it second time round. I only met my actual midwife for the first time at my 34 appt. she seems to be on annual leave whenever I’m due a check up!

Smurftastic · 29/07/2021 12:24

@SillyBry I find the long gaps between appointments odd as well, but then again it feels like it goes so fast. Already having one child means there's no time to think how far along you are. Can't believe only a few more weeks and I'll be a mum of 2 Shock!

@Zogster appointment went well but my bump went from 10th to 50th centile so need a growth scan. It was on the 10 centile before as baby was transverse and she moved to head down so it's probably nothing. Just got to get some change for the hospital's car park.

Zogster · 01/08/2021 13:07

Hey how's everyone getting on? I'm suffering now with my hips and knees and all joints it feels like! Sad

OP posts:
Zogster · 01/08/2021 13:19

Also how are you all feeling about covid? I know there will be lots of different views on this so please respectfully comment.
I'm personally getting quite anxious as things open up and feel the most vulnerable I have the whole pregnancy. If any one feels the same I'd love to chat for some reassurance/feel I'm not alone with the worry! Xx

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 01/08/2021 17:23

Hey @Zogster
Been out for three hours this afternoon walking and pram pushing, I’m shattered and everything aches!

I try my best to keep my distance from everyone else in public, but there’s only so much you can do. I find that people still get too close when there is no need for them to do so.

How’re you feeling aside from the joint pain?

mlj123 · 01/08/2021 17:33

Hi I am 34+2 and also have a 5 year old. I am absolute exhausted all the time atm. Which I dont remember feeling like this the first time round. I am also getting very uncomfortable and am struggling with pains when walking. I just got back from holiday and walking up the hill to the hotel and up 4 flights of stairs was horrendous. Everything is becoming such an effort now and I can't wait have her.

KHR1 · 01/08/2021 17:54

Hi, I'm 35+4 with DC2, DD is nearly 2. Hips are so sore!

Getting quite anxious about covifd again as I feel like lots of people have got back to normal (which is fine!) but I'm totally not ready to and I'm finding that they think I'm really awkward when I don't want to hug or get close or go inside places.

Zogster · 01/08/2021 18:56

I'm feeling a bit up and down @WeAllLikeVindaloo
I feel like finished work this week and am a little daunted by the long summer holidays. My dd is quite a handful! Not feeling I can socialise much or take her out because of covid isn't helping! Just counting down the sleeps now until ECS on 2nd September

@mlj123 have you had your pelvis checked? I have pelvic separation in the front called spd and separation of the si joints in the back due to pregnancy. It's when the ligaments stretch too much.

@KHR1 I feel just the same... Like I'm being difficult or precious. We've declined a few social things recently. I find friends understand but family less so and are more prone to give us their opinions on things!
