OK so I've been waiting for my harmony test for about a week now so I am super stressed!
The only reason I decided to do the test was my age so please tell me all about lovely healthy babies born whilst you were in your 40's

I have a healthy 8 month old born 6 weeks before I turned 41. I didn’t get a Harmony test (though wish I had!) so just kinda fretted about the unknown for half of my pregnancy instead.

My mum has a friend who gave birth to a healthy baby girl this week and she is 53!!!! I don't know how this is possible but clearly it is.

Peacefulspirit · 19/03/2021 15:10

Thanks for the post, I’m in exactly the same boat. Trying to be patient as I await Harmony results (to be fair I don’t expect mine until late next week, only had it done on Wednesday!) I know quite a few people who’ve had healthy babies in their 40s but I will be relieved when (if) we get a good result.

I had twin girls when I was 40! No health issues.

Greenrubber · 19/03/2021 15:33

Mum had me and my brother in her mid forties, we were both perfectly healthy babies. I had my youngest just before my 40th birthday, she's a toddler now, all good.

bigbella26 · 19/03/2021 15:41

I had my daughter at 40. I did a Nipt test due to scoring high risk in first pregnancy when I was 36. I wanted to avoid Amnio again. Once this came back clear I was quite relaxed. She was born by planned section due to previous emergency section. A near text book perfect pregnancy and she's almost 4 now.

BlueChampagne · 19/03/2021 15:41

I had DS2 when I was 40. He's now 11, gorgeous and absolutely fine.

41 and TTC

Am I being selfish & delusional?

Megan2018 · 19/03/2021 15:46

DD conceived at 40, born at 41. DH was 45 at conception, 46 at birth. First child for both of us, conceived easily with no help, charting, ovulation testing etc etc

Harmony was low risk, pregnancy was bliss apart from GD (easily diet controlled though) and I had a quick vaginal birth with gas and air. It was all absolutely brilliant and I felt and looked the best I’d been in decades.
EBF, still BF now at 18 months. We feel very lucky!!

SamoyedFan123 · 19/03/2021 15:57

Beautiful healthy twins delivered at 41. Currently 43 and 24 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy. No testing done in either pregnancy.

Littlegoth · 19/03/2021 15:59

I’ll be ttc #2 hopefully just before I turn 40 this year. #1 arrived last September so not waiting around!

SoCrimeaRiver · 19/03/2021 16:03

Baby girl born just before my 41st birthday. DH was late 40s when she arrived. I had no morning sickness, which is an indicator of a higher risk of miscarriage, so I fretted during the first 3 months but she's a very active 2 year old now.

ragtimeloves · 19/03/2021 16:04

Had my gorgeous DD (now 11) when I was 40. bright and loves dancing!

daisydalrymple · 19/03/2021 16:12

Dc3, now 6, born when I was 43. Totally healthy and happy.

lifestoooshort · 19/03/2021 16:17

Dd4 was born when I was 42 dd3 at 43! No problems whatsoever

Helbelle75 · 19/03/2021 16:32

I had my DDs at 41 and 44. Both gorgeously perfect and healthy. I didn't have the harmony test for either.

SecretWitch · 19/03/2021 16:50

Had my third baby at 42. Perfect pregnancy and delivery. I chose not to have any testing done except ultrasound. She is healthy and happy at 13.

Greenrubber · 19/03/2021 17:12

I have my healthy 7 week baby girl feeding on my lap. I’m 41. It’s higher risk but still the vast majority of pregnancies will be totally fine. I totally understand the worry though Flowers. Sending loads of positive healthy baby vibes!

RedMarauder · 19/03/2021 17:21

You only hear horror stories because those who were born when our mothers were over 40, had healthy children over 40 or both don't tend to write about our non-eventful experiences.

I had testing done as it is routine at the NHS hospital I gave birth at.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 19/03/2021 17:24

DS born at 42 and DD born at 44, both healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. I had the harmony test when I was 44 as I didn't want to worry my way through the pregnancy. Good luck.

ThisMammaCat · 19/03/2021 17:25

My big strapping youngest brother who is approaching 27 was born when my mum was 40 Smile he's always been the healthiest out of all three of us!

ProfMcGonigle · 19/03/2021 17:36

Now 8-year-old B/G twins were born when I was 42.
Normal pregnancy, planned c- section, perfectly healthy babies of 7lb2 and 6lb10. They are, honestly, amazing kids - so easy going, a dream really.
Wishing the best for you

chillidoritto · 20/03/2021 09:16

I had DD at 34, DS1 at 40, DS2 at 42 and currently heavily pregnant with non identical twins at 44!
