OK so I've been waiting for my harmony test for about a week now so I am super stressed!
The only reason I decided to do the test was my age so please tell me all about lovely healthy babies born whilst you were in your 40's

Dc4 was born at 40, I had the standard NT test which came back low risk
Dc5 is due in June when I will be 41, all tests have been fine so far.

I didn't have the NIPT as the NT was low risk, so I hope all is ok.

@Greenrubber HUGE congratulations :)
and thanks for this post; I'm 40 and awaiting Harmony results myself so feeling the same & this post has lifted me too x

@LeonorN No, not at all; I'm 40 and this is our first (if all goes OK) but if we can we'll try for another. Good Luck x

My son was born when I was 42. Normal pregnancy, no testing. I did have an emergency C section with him, He weighed 8lb 8oz.

He is now a big strapping 20 year old and the light of my life :)

LeonorN · 20/03/2021 18:47

Thanks for all the hopeful messages and stories on here. Sometimes all the negative feedback is too much to take!

Congratulations!

I had 2 dcs in my early 40s, easy pregnancies, straight forward deliveries and very healthy babies born at full term.

I have several friends who had babies in their mid 40s, and one who had her 3rd at 50. No health issues for the mums or dcs. None were IVF.

As a pp posted if it's straight forward there isn't really a story to tell so people don't tend to post on-line about it.

@ProfMcGonigle

Now 8-year-old B/G twins were born when I was 42. Normal pregnancy, planned c- section, perfectly healthy babies of 7lb2 and 6lb10. They are, honestly, amazing kids - so easy going, a dream really. Wishing the best for you
What a lovely story! I have always wanted twins my whole life. Take care and thanks for sharing.

I had DS1 at 41 and DS2 at 45. Two healthy pregnancies and two healthy babies. Enjoy your pregnancy.

LeonorN · 22/03/2021 19:29

Pregnant! So I will report in several weeks. I’m 41, but feel so healthy so we shall see.

TheFoz · 22/03/2021 19:41

I just had dc3 2.5 weeks ago aged 42. Didn’t have any testing. He’s perfectly healthy. I didn’t find this pregnancy any harder than my others despite my age, which no medical professional mentioned.

Had DD2 at 40. She was a really easy baby. Slept well. She’s healthy and clever (I’m not biased of course)

I had my youngest DD at 40. Perfect pregnancy, perfect baby. Turning 3yrs in 2 weeks. No issues at all. Maybe the night feeds are more tiring but totally ok!

Only thing is my tummy will never be the same but that can happen at any age!
Good luck Op!

PFin · 24/03/2021 04:45

My mumma had a healthy twin pregnancy at 40. She needed a slight bit of help getting there and was on hormone replacements of some sort but once pregnant she had a perfect healthy pregnancy and me and my twin brother were both born cia c section at 36 weeks, both fine and weighing over 6lb! People tend to write about their horror stories over people who had plan old pregnancies. Dont pay too much attention to them!

CrystalFlower · 25/03/2021 17:59

Hello, my mum gave birth to my beautiful sister in 2015, she was 42 years old when she gave birth and my sister was born with zero health problems and a very healthy baby. Good luck in your pregnancy Smile

My 10 week old DD was born just before my 44th birthday. She's perfectly healthy.

Good luck!
