SO Disappointed with my 12 week scan pics

Dudedudey · 02/03/2021 15:45

I went for my 12 week scan yesterday and I saw an agency sonographer who was one of the coldest people I have ever met in my life. We aren't allowed partners in with us at our local hospital and this is my first baby so I was a little anxious anyway but to make things worse my scan pics are AWFUL! I asked if he could do any clearer ones and he just said no and that was that! They are so blurry and one of them looks like an old guy with a mullet!

I suppose theres absolutely nothing I can do about it either apart from pay for a private scan. I am so disappointed.

Umm - they all look like that?! What were you expecting?!

Retrogal · 02/03/2021 15:47

Exactly what I was thinking 😂

TheCatWithTheFluffyTail · 02/03/2021 15:47

That’s what the majority of scan pictures do look like. How about a private scan? Your partner can attend and you’ll get more pictures?

I’m assuming all was well with your baby in the scan? I know the pictures are disappointing, but that really is the important thing.

Megan2018 · 02/03/2021 15:47

There is literally nothing wrong with these images. They look like every other 12 week scan.
You don’t have the scan for photos, you have it to date your pregnancy and check all is well. Meant kindly, as I know it’s a stressful time, but you really need to give your head a wobble!

PatchworkElmer · 02/03/2021 15:48

You’ve left your name on the pictures, OP.

Dudedudey · 02/03/2021 15:48

I just think they are really blurry and unclear compared to other peoples? Am I being ridiculous?

Jupitersmoon842 · 02/03/2021 15:48

That’s just what they look like!

Megan2018 · 02/03/2021 15:48

@Dudedudey

I just think they are really blurry and unclear compared to other peoples? Am I being ridiculous?
Yes.

But hormones do that to people Smile

Dudedudey · 02/03/2021 15:48

Oh. balls how do I delete them?

Justmuddlingalong · 02/03/2021 15:49

They look like regular scan pics to me. The pictures are a bonus to a medical procedure, they're not the reason for the scan.

PatchworkElmer · 02/03/2021 15:49

And the pictures are absolutely fine. That’s how the vast, vast majority of scan pictures I’ve seen look.

Lbnc2021 · 02/03/2021 15:49

Yes, you’re being ridiculous, it’s not like school photograph day Hmm

The4ks · 02/03/2021 15:49

Aww bless you, sorry you're disappointed but yeah that's just how they look at this stage.

Wait a few weeks and book a 3d scan if you want clearer.

Dodgypainting · 02/03/2021 15:50

They just look like normal scan pics to me OP?

LilyMumsnet · 02/03/2021 15:50

Hi OP

We've removed your scan photos because they contained identifying information - please feel free to repost with this info cropped out. Flowers

JollyGreenGiantess · 02/03/2021 15:51

Name , hospital and your date of birth attached. You need to edit the pic before posting. Report your post

They look fine. In fairness they are medical shots not supposed to be ‘keepsake’ pictures.

EasterIssland · 02/03/2021 15:51

the scan is mainly to know whether your child is ok, any extra is a plus but you shouldn't focus on it so much

I hope it went well

Dudedudey · 02/03/2021 15:52

thanks, couldnt work out how to remove them :)

It’s a shame you are disappointed with the pictures but an ultrasound scan is not a photo opportunity, it’s to check that all is well with the pregnancy, which I hope it is . X

Getoutofbed25 · 02/03/2021 15:53

They look exactly like my 12 week scan photos, I fact I think yours are better.
You may be in your head comparing them to 20 week scan photos.
Scan photos are rubbish generally

Aerielview · 02/03/2021 15:54

Normal looking scan pictures. If your baby is developing, you should be happy and thankful, not getting upset about the scan pictures. A lot of women come away from their 12 week scan in tears, having been told there's no heartbeat.

Twizbe · 02/03/2021 15:54

Scan pictures often look rubbish. My DD hated being scanned and we never got a good one of her lol. She literally turned her back to us during the 12 week one.

At 20 weeks she curled up into the tightest ball known to baby kind

LittleMimi · 02/03/2021 15:58

It’s not good if they were cold but I’m sure there are lots of women who wish their main worry was the quality of the photos. I was just happy to see everything was ok.

Frlrlrubert · 02/03/2021 15:58

DD wouldn't stay still at the 12 week scan - mainly an issue because they couldn't get the NT measurement, but also the pictures were so bad the were free. (Normally you pay at out hospital)

It's hormones OP, I promise you won't give a shit about it in a years time.

Liquorishtoffee · 02/03/2021 15:59

If you think these pics are bad - just wait for the class photos - every year its the same...
