Ladies who have had 2nd baby, weight?

My son was born 8lb 9oz. Second time round now 24 weeks, im having a girl and alot of people have said about 2nd baby is usually bigger. Just wondering what weight your 2nd babies have been? Also thinking maybe cause its a girl she'll be smaller but I dont think it matters much! Defo dont want a big 9lb'er coming out 🙈 lol

First 7.9 1 day late
Second 6.2 10 days early! X

I’ve had two girls, first was 13 days late and weighed 9lb 13oz. Second was 6 days later and weighed 8lb 13oz. It could honestly go either way!

1st boy arrived on due date 7.7

2nd boy arrived 10 days early 7.10

Dd1 38+4 6lb5
Ds1 39+4 8lb5
Ds2 41+6 9lb
Dd2 40+3 8lb 7

Huge difference between 1 and 2 but #2 was easiest labour and birth of all 4

@KeeefBurtain the 6.9lb would suit me 😂

My first was 7lb 5oz, born at 39+4 and my second was 8lb 10oz, 40+1.

My first girl was 7lb1
My second, a boy was 7lb2
(and they said he would be big because I had gestational diabetes)

There does seem to be a trend 2nd baby is slightly bigger with a few exceptions! Hope im one of them!

First baby was a boy 7lbs and half an ounce
Second baby was a girl 9lbs one ounce

Dd1 10 days late 6lb 9oz

DS1 12 days early 5lb 13oz

DS2 1 day late 6lb 11oz

DD2 1 day late 7lb 2oz

@PFin my 5’0 8 stone sister pushed a 10lb 14oz little(!) girl out in 5 pushes with no tears! And it was her first.
I’m sure you’ll be fine, but honestly there’s no point trying to analyse and guess, it’s different for everyone and you’ll end up driving yourself insane.

Some trusts have started to do routine growth scans at 36 weeks so you may be offrr we Ed one as standard, but they’re not always accurate (they were for dd2 but I’ve heard both sides)

@KeeefBurtain omg crazy well done to your sister. Yeah can defo drive yourself crazy, im not too worried about the birth i'd a pretty easy birth with my first so hoping for similar. Im more thinking baby clothes to pack for hospital, ive got loads of newborn that does upto 9lb/10lb if shes similar size but wondering if i should pack smaller first size outfits like upto 7lbs incase shes small but dont want to buy too much and them not fit her at all lol!

Both my babies were born at 38+6. DD1 7lb 1oz, DS2 8lb 2oz.

I’m pregnant with my third, 9lb3oz?! 😫

Both babies same weight. The first (boy) born at 37 weeks, his sister at 38. So in my case the second would have been smaller if born at the same gestation as the first.

I was expecting a 9lb baby after my first was 8.11 and they were both boys. But my second came 4 weeks early at 6.14! So you never know.

DD1 - 40+5, 8lb 6oz
DD2 - 40+2, 8lb 2oz

Two very different labours. DD1 I was in hospital for over 12 hours before she was born. 12 hours of contractions and then pushing. DD2 was nearly born in the car. Contractions ramped up really quickly and she was born very quickly.

Both relatively easy deliveries.

I was worried about this too after having my first child, a boy, who weighed 9lb 7oz. I was pleasantly surprised when my daughter arrived at 8lb 13oz six weeks ago 🥰 still big, but smaller than her brother!
