Hey guys, both due April 30th with our 1st. Obviously it’s a personal question and if you don’t want to answer it, then I fully understand, but just wondering what people paid for a full set pram bundle ? Or even a pram on its own ? I know you can budget, but we feel by paying that extra for quality, you will get the benefits of long term usage, plus if we eventually have another baby, it will come in handy for that to. Seen a full multiple bundle set for the I-Candy on sale for £695 and that includes Trolley Pram, Carry cot, carry cot mattress, Car seat, Adapters , parasol etc. Anyone think this is a decent deal ? If so, what would you expect to pay ?

I paid 1500 for everything but I got a bugaboo donkey as I had plans to have my dc close together (I know you can't always plan these things but I did) anyway I used it for dd as a single and then used it as a double and then as a single with a buggy board. It was brilliant. The side basket was fantastic when I was pregnant as there was no bending up and down for things!

BabyMoonPie · 26/11/2020 09:30

Prams are personal - what works for someone else might not be right for you. It depends if you'll be pushing it on pavements or paths if you'll be taking it on public transport , how much storage you have etc. It's hard at the moment but you need to test them if you can for ease of pushing and handle height. That being said we paid about £550 for a Silver Cross bundle with everything- a new model was coming out so they were selling the old model cheaply

Megan2018 · 26/11/2020 09:34

Ours wasn’t a bundle. Pram was about £1k because jt had 20% off and the car seat was £250
So it would’ve been about £1450 all together full price. We needed an all terrain model though and had an awkward car that it needed to fit in so there were only a few options.
Ours is the iCandy Peach All terrain which I really rate btw

NoNarniaBecauseLipstick · 26/11/2020 09:36

Second hand Uppababy. £200.

Tblock · 26/11/2020 09:48

Cheers guys. Judging by early responses, sounds like the one I have seen is a pretty good deal. Might have to snap it up.

@BabyMoonPie, slight difficulty testing prams etc at the moment with Covid and shops opening and closing, so online it is unfortunately and blind buying. Obviously looked at reviews etc. Both of us have cars, so don’t use public transport

We paid £900 for a silver cross bundle. It was on sale from £1100

Terriblecreature · 26/11/2020 10:00

I paid £1130 for the pram on its own (limited edition bugaboo fox) then an extra £300 for car seat, base and adapters. Great quality pram but I have seen some great black Friday deals. Pram is like new after 1 year of use (switched to babyzen yoyo for toddler) due DC2 in March so glad I bought a quality pram as it will last multiple kids x

spacegirl86 · 26/11/2020 10:04

I'm sure we didn't see an icandy much below 1000 and that was without car seat. Snap it up. We paid 700 for a silvercross plus around 300'for a car seat (wanted to go maxi cosi as we felt it was the safest from our research)

MuchTooTired · 26/11/2020 10:04

We paid £550 for a second hand bugaboo donkey (we’ve got twins) and were limited on what baby car seats we could have as I stupidly wanted the baby car seats to click on to the pram. That limited us to maxi cosi and one other, so we spent £200 on the base and £200 on the seat x2. And then another £400 on the next size up car seat about a year later! And another pram 10 months later 😬

The price you mentioned seems a really good deal. Is the car seat an isofix one?

Tblock · 26/11/2020 10:15

@MuchTooTired, it’s the Maxi Cosi Cabrio fix car seat I believe. Just seems to good a deal to pass I think.

@spacegirl86, yeh think I might snap it up tonight

£75 for Hauck travel system from Amazon brand new. Lasted till DD was 2 and we switched to an umbrella fold I got cheap as it was ex display in Asda.

mumduty · 26/11/2020 10:38

I paid about just over £800 for a baby zen YoYo. It came with the newborn pack, 6+ month pack, car seat, adapters and a foot muff for the 6+ month pack. I originally wanted a Mamas and Papas Ocarro or Bugaboo but it totalled up to about £1500. At the time we couldn't afford it but I'm really happy with my purchase. We travelled a lot and it was easy to take on board the plane, easy to carry around, easy to move around in tight spaces such as shops and restaurants. Only downside, it's a city stroller so not good for rough terrain and doesn't have features such as parent facing. My dc missed out on watching my face after 6 months :) at the time we were prioritising his nursery which he never slept in and buying things we never needed. I think if I have a second baby, I would probably go for a bugaboo and use the yo-yo for holidays.

Wickerbaskets · 26/11/2020 10:38

We paid £1200 for a bundle which included chassis, carry cot, car seat, buggy seat and changing bag, from Silver Cross. Yours sounds like a good deal to me!

Btw when I have mentioned I am so happy with the yoyo but if I have a second baby I would get a bugaboo, I only said this as the bugaboo can accommodate a toddler and a newborn and I will take the yo-yo on holiday with me and just add a little wheeled board for the toddler to use while the second one sat in it.

A bundle isn't necessarily always the best value - you can quite often get really good discounts on the items individually; which also means you're getting the exact model that you want for each component (obviously make sure they're compatible, or factor in the cost of adaptors - I had to pay £20 for adaptors for a cybex car seat and Egg pram base.)

Think about what's important to you - for the pram, what kind of terrain will you be using it on (ie do you need one that can go off-road or will it mostly be urban footpaths). For the car seat, think about safety ratings, whether you want a swivel one that makes it easy to get the baby in and out etc.

It's worth getting the "Which?" guides free trial so that you can look at independent reviews.

Congratulations and good luck Grin

ivfbeenbusy · 26/11/2020 10:48

£1500 for my silver cross wave - but this has all the extras for twins incl isofix and car seats as I'm having twins .

Probably be £1200 I'd guess for a single baby.

I wish I'd bought this one a few years ago but bought a cheaper silver cross that time and can't be adapted If you have children close in age.

Silver cross are great quality and it has outlasted all my friends prams and still looks in immaculate condition

alphabetti · 26/11/2020 10:52

I think the bundle you’ve seen is a good price and if that’s the pram you like definitely buy it. We’ve paid £850 for mamas and papas bundle with pushchair/carry cot/car seat and base/footmuff/changing bag and car seat adapters. Just want baby here now so can get to use it!!

£120 for a cosatto giggle 2 second hand. Barely used. Came with everything and was (and still is) immaculate.

Much appreciated guys cheers

Ordered it guys. Felt £695 for the whole bundle when I’m comparing prices for the Pram alone was far to good to turn down. We both drive, so public transport we don’t use, so this particular I-Candy set was perfect. Was the exact one we wanted colour wise to. Thanks guys, great help anyway

Ours was less than £200 all in as we managed to snap it up in the Toys R Us closing down sale. Just had a look on the Cosatto website and would cost more than £1100 to get what we got direct

Very good bargain and will work well for DC2 when they arrive in February

EthelTheGoose · 26/11/2020 12:25

I managed to find a second hand (barely used condition) Cossatto bundle for £75 from Facebook marketplace. There are some gems on there but it takes some searching.

88bowie · 26/11/2020 13:34

OP yes that's a great deal, will also depend on what type of I candy it is as they have a wide range like the (lime slightly cheaper and peach more expensive ) not sure what the differences really are thou, we have an i candy peach which we got over 2 1/2 yrs ago and still looks brand new, as my son can't walk yet we have brought another seat to attach to the frame to make it a double when this one arrives, well worth the money we also have a maxi cosi car seats

Tblock · 26/11/2020 14:15

@88bowie, was the I candy Peach :) reduced from £1,399 to £695. Had to get it. Bargain.
