Hey guys, both due April 30th with our 1st. Obviously it’s a personal question and if you don’t want to answer it, then I fully understand, but just wondering what people paid for a full set pram bundle ? Or even a pram on its own ? I know you can budget, but we feel by paying that extra for quality, you will get the benefits of long term usage, plus if we eventually have another baby, it will come in handy for that to. Seen a full multiple bundle set for the I-Candy on sale for £695 and that includes Trolley Pram, Carry cot, carry cot mattress, Car seat, Adapters , parasol etc. Anyone think this is a decent deal ? If so, what would you expect to pay ?

It depends on what’s included in bundle, and what you need it for

Pram was £550 - included all terrain pram carrycot

Car seat - bought separate as a 0-4 year swivel one -£300

If the bundle includes the maxi coat isofix base it’s quite a good deal, but remember those car seats only last until around 1 year, then a 0-4 year one like above will need to be purchased anyway. So you can miss the maxi coat baby type out. Our 0-4 is maxi coat btw, but the maxi cosi mica

£359 full travel system brand new off infababy - can't fault it one bit. No way was I willing to pay double that or more on a different brand

PlanBea · 26/11/2020 14:44

@Tblock would you mind sharing where you got it from? I'm looking at prams and car seats now and that seems like a good deal!

Of course. It’s whatever suits you and what ever you’re budget is. We are willing to pay top dollar if need be for one of the better brands and I candy been reviewed very well, so felt a whole set for £695 when it was over £1000 was pretty good going

Pram £400 (mothercare journey edit)

£250 for my car seat (Joie iSafe iLevel) it reclines 180 and that was important to me. Also clipped to my pushchair frame.

88bowie · 26/11/2020 15:24

@Tblock I've just looked at the link and that is a amazing deal the footmuff's alone are normally about £100 and car seat £130 all u need know is the iso fix base which can be used for the next car seat up to, we have the Pearl for after they grow out of the baby one x

Fedupalways · 26/11/2020 15:25

Forgot to add I do love my pushchair. DS is 16
Months so of course changed the car seat now to Joie iSafe 360 it was £280 but can be used from birth. I should of just got that one in the first place but I ended up spending double! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fedupalways · 26/11/2020 15:27

Oh jeez forgot to add:
Always check on which for car seat tests. Some have scored badly even some Joie and Maxi Cosi, Britax etc

£190 for a Cosatto Giggle 2 pram (sale) and £180 for a Joie spin 360. We never wanted to take her out of the car in the car seat, so got a car seat that stayed in the car and a separate pram.

@88bowie, cheers. I did think it was far to good deal to turn down, hence why I snapped it up today

About £800 for an ocarro bundle including a car seat, carrycot, foot muff and adapters.

That Icandy bundle is a steal.

Tblock · 26/11/2020 15:46

@sqirrelfriends, nice one.

Can't believe what people spend!
We got a second hand cosatto wow system for £150
Bought a new car seat and base for £100
Sold the second hand car seat for £20
Adapters £10

So £240 total

No offence, but you paid that because it’s 2nd hand. If you are on a budget, then no issue whatsoever with that, but if you have the budget to spend a little more, I don’t see what the problem is. Some people don’t particularly want 2nd hand push chairs etc, and for that you need to pay slightly more
OP posts:
Tblock · 26/11/2020 16:10

Not to mention you have no guarantee with a 2nd hand push chair. That breaks, you are paying another £200 for another one, so kind of defeats the objects. With new you get the 5 year guarantee.

OP posts:
JustAnotherUserinParadise · 26/11/2020 16:21

We could have spent more but chose not to! Our pram is used but like new, and they only get scuffed and dirty anyway.
But each to their own, obviously some people want a brand new set!

Tblock · 26/11/2020 16:25

Yeh, like I said, it’s entirely the individuals choice, but just my personal opinion you have no guarantee with a 2nd hand one. Like I said, it breaks , then you are forking out for a new one. Which means you are paying eventually the money for a New one anyway.

OP posts:
JustAnotherUserinParadise · 26/11/2020 16:27

true, but if you're comparing paying £240 for second hand to £1200 for new, you could replace it all 4 times over before you'd have spent the same amount!

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 26/11/2020 16:29

but I'm glad other people are willing to spend that - these are the ones I buy stuff from on ebay!
The woman we got ours from said she'd paid £800 for it less than a year ago!

Tblock · 26/11/2020 16:29

Yeh true, but I didn’t pay £1200 lol. We payed £695 for a full multiple bundle set. Initially was worth £1,300. Personally think an absolute bargain

OP posts:
elvislives2012 · 26/11/2020 16:42

Second hand! My last was an out n about nipper double that I bought for £200 then sold for the same! I couldn't justify spending shed load of money on a pram
