Lots of you here concerned about visitors - I am too. I feel it's so harsh not to have grandparents hold the baby but wider visitors would be a no no for me. Everyone will have different things to consider to determine what is safest for them. Either way it's definitely a good idea to discuss and plan ahead so that people aren't upset. Thank goodness for video calling.

I'm just in a bath which I never ever normally do. Had a massive cry today because of being tired/emotional/feeling ignored/missing out on doing things because of covid. I then immediately feel guilty as so many people have it worse and I am about to have a dream come true. I don't think I can afford to miss out on my naps!!

It's my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend tomorrow which will be nice. I have a Tesco click and collect to celebrate! Grin

@Sls668

All was great at my scan, I knew I was just being neurotic. She’s approximately 7lb 2oz (37+3) and the absolute double of her dad, I’ve never seen anything like it!!!
Gorgeous!! So pleased all is ok xxx
AdventureAhead · 13/10/2020 09:52

@dressinggown87 Thoughts are with you for your induction today. Very exciting that you will get to meet your baby very very soon!

DressingGown87 · 13/10/2020 10:04

@AdventureAhead thank you. I’ve been awake since 4.30 just couldn’t sleep. Now I’m just waiting around before I go into hospital. Hope she doesn’t keep me waiting too long.

@Sls668 glad your scan went well.

@CurlyMummy1912 Happy anniversary!!

roarfeckingroarr · 13/10/2020 12:56

Good luck @DressingGown87 !!! So exciting!!

@CurlyMummy1912 sometimes a good cry is all you need. I love a good cry. Sometimes OH comes in and finds me sobbing so I now have a sign for "no no it's fine, I'm enjoying this, just getting it out". He thinks I'm a nut case but in a loving way 😁. Keep up your naps.

My bump feels even lower today. I've cancelled my therapy appointment because I just have a feeling I should stay close to home at the moment. Obviously this means I'll now need an induction at 42 weeks£

FirstSurprise001 · 13/10/2020 13:05

@roarfeckingroarr isn’t it crazy that they leave induction so late! When my midwife said they’ll leave me 12 days over before inducing I just sort of glossed over it and agreed but now I’m thinking is there an option to be induced earlier if requested?

Obviously I think most, me included, would prefer to go into labour naturally if you’re over your due date but I just think 12 days is so long to wait!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 13/10/2020 13:27

I reckon I'll be begging for an induction bang on 40 weeks if nothing looks like it's happening! lol

1990shopefulftm · 13/10/2020 13:39

I m in two minds what I d want to do if I go overdue by a bit, my sister was 10 days late so my mum just beat her induction date which was at 12 days so perhaps I d consider waiting that long but on the other hand I wouldn't want the induction to take a while and then put me to 42 weeks anyway.

I was born at 38 weeks so I was hoping that baby might take after me but no sign as of yet.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 13/10/2020 14:30

I just know what I was like with my first at 39+4 (the day he arrived) and how I'm feeling already now. I don't think I'd cope well at all!

I'm not a very patient person Confused

Mc3209 · 13/10/2020 15:59

@DressingGown87 good luck! All the best wishes your way! 😘😘

I just bought dates, ordered raspberry leaf tea, have been for an hour long walk today, then bouncing on the ball. All the fun things. I am starting to wind down a bit, and not as crazy about cleaning the house.

I've decided to take each day as it comes and rest/relax as much as possible before the show gets on the road, so to speak.

FirstSurprise001 · 13/10/2020 16:37

@Mc3209 do the dates work? I was curious about getting some! I’ve upped my raspberry leaf tea capsules dose to 4 a day now and the BH are definitely stronger.

39 weeks tomorrow and have, like you, just been trying to get in some extra rest - sleeping for a couple of extra hours in the day if I can - just incase labour starts.

Mc3209 · 13/10/2020 16:56

@FirstSurprise001 no clue if any of those works, but apparently 6 dates a day may help cervix ripen. Going to give it a go and see what happens.

SamK93 · 13/10/2020 18:02

@FirstSurprise001 I recommend dates definitely, I started having 3/4 medjool dates a day from from 35 weeks, there are many benefits. I had Noah at 36+6, can't believe he's 5 days old today! I had some during labour too, it definitely gave me the energy boost I needed.

SamK93 · 13/10/2020 18:04

@Mc3209 6 standard dates are fine too the ones I ate before labour were medjool so were quite big I used to have about 3 of those but I definitely think they helped.

Sls668 · 13/10/2020 18:41

To those talking about inductions, interestingly I once worked with a family who didn’t believe in being induced (they were very natural!). 2 of her children went to 44 weeks 😳

Flora20 · 13/10/2020 19:32

Worth remembering you're not actually "overdue" until 42 weeks (43 in some places) and bearing in mind the increased rate of further interventions after induction, it's probably best to be as patient as you can! Hard when you're waddling around and feeling like a whale admittedly 😂

Mc3209 · 13/10/2020 19:59

@SamK93 how is it going on the other side? Are you managing some sleep?
