Hello!!!

Got my first EVER BFP on Wednesday.
Came as a bit of a surprise since we literally only BD once since my last period (my partner works weird shifts so it gets quite difficult to ‘try’) Shock wtf, how is that for chance Hmm

Anyway; here I am hopefully gonna be joining May 2021 club :)

However.. I am feeling a few things and I’m getting myself concerned.
My AF isn’t technically due for 2 days!!

  1. I feel a lot of weird sensations in the very bottom of my stomach, like just above the pubic bone. It’s not a cramp as such, but it does feel like tugging. Does anyone know what it could be so early on? Any reason to even be concerned?
  1. Wetness... I normally get increased wetness before AF is coming, not normally this much as it feels like I’ve came on and every time I go the toilet I’m scared I’ll see blood!! Anyone had similar?
  1. Heart palpitations. Don’t know if it’s because I am so overwhelmed/excited/nervous and thinking of a million different ways to tell my family so it’s making my heart go fast... maybe I need tips to chill the f* out? Grin

Thanks all In advance 😘

@BessieBye also 4+5 here (took me ages to figure out what that meant Hmm)... I have a question for you about the reduced appetite. I've the same and have basically just been eating lunch. Are you forcing yourself to eat when you're not keen? Or just listening to your body?

BessieBye · 11/09/2020 11:57

@TTCAbroad I am trying to have a sandwich or something at lunch time, something light. Then tea time I am trying my hardest to eat as much as I can. Before I was a piglet and I would clear my plate but struggling to finish a meal now.
Hopefully this only lasts a couple of weeks for us but maybe see how you feel in a week and if you really don’t think you’re getting enough nutrients/energy into your body, we can speak to a midwife for advice ? Or GP. I think that’s what I’ll do. Take care.. make sure you drink loads! Xx

@BessieBye That's a smart idea - maybe I'll try eating a slightly smaller lunch and seeing if that encourages an appetite in the evening. Was considering stocking up on some fairly inoffensive veggies as well (cucumbers/peppers/carrots) and holding them while I watch a movie... Maybe trick my mind into snacking on something!

I hope it sorts itself out for you soon as well! Any other time I would have been pretty pleased that I didn't have an appetite Grin

Chance2020 · 11/09/2020 12:14

Hey Ladies,
I'm 6wks+2
I had a MMC in February and a little nervous, every pain & twinge has got me worried.
Trying not to compare to the last time but it's hard.
I've been feeling STARVING!! No sickness as of yet, tired a little (I can nap every day if I could) with sore boobs which seem to have gone down a little bit.
I'm quite active and run 3 x a week too.
The first time round I was already so ill by now so I'm taking this as a positive.
Debating on booking a few private scans from 8-12weeks, I know it can't change anything though.
Good luck everyone

BessieBye · 11/09/2020 12:16

@TTCAbroad ha ha tell me about it!! I’ve been joking saying I hope I crave lettuce 😂 my waist line deserves it after lockdown!!

Yeah I do think it’s common to both lose or gain appetite so I wouldn’t worry.
I love veggies so trying to get as many as I can at tea time but really don’t like fruit as much as I get older. So this weekend when I go shopping I’m gonna get loads of berries & some Greek yogurt and make smoothies every day. Just so I get some good extra vitamins in me!

I do love berries, but every time I buy them they end up squishy 🤢 and it makes me wanna gag! Can never get decent blueberries or strawberries anywhere, so blending them up will do the trick. 😂xxx

Congratulations on your BFP Smile I also got mine earlier this week. First baby so everything is all very new.

The first symptom I got was very sore nipples and now I have completely lost my appetite. I’ve also found I can’t sleep/have more energy. Very weird!

Excited for the rest of the journey xx

hollywhooo · 12/09/2020 13:05

I love reading this thread and everyone’s stories ❤️
Where is everybody from? X

Chance2020 · 12/09/2020 13:33

Hey, i'm from South Wales
How about you? How many weeks are you?

BessieBye · 12/09/2020 16:10

Hey @hollywhooo and @Chance2020

I’m from Sunderland, North East :) x

hollywhooo · 12/09/2020 16:49

I’m from South Wales too!!! I’m not 100% sure how for along i am, i think 5-6 weeks but my periods are mega irregular so not certain xx

Cafeaulait27 · 12/09/2020 17:08

I’m 5 weeks and have the tugging Sensation in the belly, lots of milky white discharge and heart palpitations! Congrats!!!

It’s my first ever BFP too.

Chance2020 · 13/09/2020 07:43

@Cafeaulait27 I was having quite bad cramping from 5 weeks, mainly at night time, they would wake me up! Every couple of nights it happens.
Hopefully it's settled down now.
I know every pregnancy is completely different!
What I learnt from my last one is if you have any worries at all, just call your doctor!
Are you feeling sick yet ladies?
@hollywhooo - i live in Caerphilly County & were on lockdown 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rumples · 13/09/2020 08:00

@Chance2020 I'm 4+6 and had cramps last night and this morning. Trying not to worry too much but it is so hard.

Boobs hurting but no sickness yet!

Chance2020 · 13/09/2020 08:17

@Rumples it is worrying, as long as you have no bleeding it's not too much of a worry.
My friend had alot of cramping & a negative ptest until 12 weeks so she didn't know she was pregnant until then, just thought she was expecting her period
Her baby is now 1!
Keep an eye on them.
My sore boobs disappeared the other day for a couple of days & then are back again!!
It's such a shame that making babies is such a worry!
Be positive because worrying won't change the outcome ❤️ positive thoughts!! 😘

BessieBye · 13/09/2020 09:05

Morning @Rumples @Chance2020

My boob soreness dipped for 2/3 days but last night they were back with vengeance! Oh my word, ouchhhhh!!

If you think it will make you feel better, take a test maybe once a week.. if it might make you worse then don’t as everyone is different. But I have been taking a couple a week first thing on a morning (part of me still in disbelief!) and seeing that glaring positive really sets me up for the day!

Tbh, I got a delivery of 25 internet cheapies on the day I got my first BFP.... so I had 24 left over and it is too tempting 🤣 I don’t think I would be out buying them if I didn’t have them!! Xx

OP posts:
Rumples · 13/09/2020 09:18

@Chance2020 it does ease off which makes me think it's normal. Positive thoughts for sure!

@BessieBye I have 1 digital left but I'm scared to use it 🙈. I got 1-2 weeks last Saturday and I think I'd throw myself into a panic if it didn't change to 2-3.

Can understand how getting a positive every day is reassuring though!

BessieBye · 13/09/2020 09:24

@Rumples ahh yes, everyone is different!!

Yeah after I got a few BFPs I wanted to see the words.. so I bought a CB digi. Was 2-3 weeks day AF due but also far too scared to use the second one 🙈🙈🙈

I might do it next week when I’ll be 6wks!!! Xx

Sohe · 13/09/2020 09:38

Hi everyone. Can I join?
Got my BFP a few days ago. I’m so happy and excited about it don’t really know what to do with myself. Also though I’m really scared. I had a chemical in our first month of trying and I’m terrified of it happening again. Constantly checking my nipples are still sore and checking my knickers whenever I get the chance.

Symptoms so far are the most horrendous cramps since 7dpo, not nausea but like a butterfly feeling in my tummy, hunger but struggling to eat, and a LOT of white CM! I’m just praying this little egg makes it x

LS2020 · 13/09/2020 13:21

Hi all,
Please could I join? Got my first ever BFP on Friday at 12dpo. AF was due today so did another test today to make sure!

@BessieBye @Chance2020 oh my gosh the boob soreness I was not prepared for!! It was fine til yesterday and now if anyone breathes in my direction I yelp 😂 I was also super nauseous from Thursday but I haven’t been eating best. I’ve now had a day of normal little and often eating and it’s got so much better

Chance2020 · 13/09/2020 21:58

@Sohe @LS2020
Of course, I just joined in without asking 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ooops!!
It's a tough waiting game isn't it!
I've slept on and off all day today, getting the naps in while I can. This is the first day I haven't felt 100%
I'm 6w+3. I also literally can't stop eating!!
All I can think about is food, I'm not eating too much as I know that will make me feel sick!

I'd say to anyone wanting to test all the time
Honestly don't waste your money
HCG will stay in your system even if something is wrong unfortunately! It happened to me, it took 3 months after my MC for it to disappear, I had positive tests all the time.
So this time I promised myself not to test anymore than once, and I bought the £1 from Asda.
Worked fine BFP I was 1wk late! How the others can rip us off is ridiculous!!!

Sohe · 14/09/2020 04:37

Looks like another chemical for me. I got excited to early again. Good luck to the rest of you ladies though. I hope you all have a wonderful and healthy 9 months ❤️. Take care xx

LS2020 · 14/09/2020 05:58

@Chance2020 yes naps is what I need to do and take a bit more care of myself! I’m at a v weird place with food that I just feel nauseous and nothing is appealing but then the second I eat something I am ravenous and then eat too much and go back to feeling sick 😫
Yeah I think now that I’ve tested and the AF time is starting to pass, I don’t think I’ll bother testing again. I might do a digital in a week to just make sure my HCG is building.

@Sohe I’m so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you and wishing you lots of sticky baby dust for your next cycle 💕

Cafeaulait27 · 14/09/2020 09:30

Sorry to hear that @Sohe sending hugs to you.

I keep worrying I’m having a chemical too, but how do you know? Is it just when you go for the first scan that you find out?

I tested again yesterday and got a much stronger line than 2 weeks ago so hoping that’s a good sign although I know so much can go wrong

Sohe · 14/09/2020 09:42

@Cafeaulait27. This time I has a small amount of pink discharge went I went to the loo. Did another test and got a BFN instead. Last one I started bleeding and it took a few weeks for hcg to return to 0 and get a BFN. If you haven’t been bleeding and you tests are getting stronger then you don’t have anything to worry about. Good luck x

TTCAbroad · 14/09/2020 09:49

@Sohe I'm really sorry to hear that. Wishing you the best of luck on your next cycle!

@hollywhooo I actually live in Japan! My husband and I moved last year :)

And holyyyyy smokes - did about 10km of cycling today while running some errands, came home around 2pm and have been lying on the couch for the last 4 HOURS!! Cycling around the city is my favourite mode of transport/way to explore (since trains aren't ideal) so I'll be really sad if it's out of the cards alreadySad
