Ladies in very early pregnancy.. want to hear your first few weeks after BFP stories!

Hello!!!

Got my first EVER BFP on Wednesday.
Came as a bit of a surprise since we literally only BD once since my last period (my partner works weird shifts so it gets quite difficult to ‘try’) wtf, how is that for chance

Anyway; here I am hopefully gonna be joining May 2021 club :)

However.. I am feeling a few things and I’m getting myself concerned.
My AF isn’t technically due for 2 days!!

1. I feel a lot of weird sensations in the very bottom of my stomach, like just above the pubic bone. It’s not a cramp as such, but it does feel like tugging. Does anyone know what it could be so early on? Any reason to even be concerned?

1. Wetness... I normally get increased wetness before AF is coming, not normally this much as it feels like I’ve came on and every time I go the toilet I’m scared I’ll see blood!! Anyone had similar?

1. Heart palpitations. Don’t know if it’s because I am so overwhelmed/excited/nervous and thinking of a million different ways to tell my family so it’s making my heart go fast... maybe I need tips to chill the f* out?

@hollywhooo yes I totally understand. I keep waking up at 3/4am worrying and can’t get back to sleep!! I just want to see this little bean on a scan with a lovely heartbeat!!

I have told my best friend as she has 2 little ones. Just because I couldn’t believe my eyes and I didn’t have anyone else female to talk to!

I want to surprise my mam, dad and sister with something nice. :) hoping to tell them next week! Xx

I’m going to tell my parents today. I know it’s early days but if something was to go wrong then i’d want their support anyway.
I feel exactly the same i can’t sleep at all haha. I wish i could just fast forward a few weeks!
I’m going to ring the midwife this week as i’m not sure of my dates at all, although i think it’s early as my CB digital on Wednesday said 1-2 weeks x

Yeah I am exactly the same. If something was to happen, I need her... but I also want to stay positive and tell myself this is happening and I’m gonna live in the present!

My Mam is DYING for a grandchild and I told her a while ago she needs to calm down haha as it could take a while or I could have issues. Anything could happen! Xx

Congratulations everyone! And thank you @BessieBye for making this thread.. I got my first ever BFP last weekend and I find myself googling absolutely everything so it’s reassuring to read everyone is experiencing the same. Hope everyone is well x

I got a bfp on Sunday as I was 2 days late and feeling “off”. We had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago, but were really unsure about having a baby, so not the worst thing that could happen. We’re now tentatively happy but have concerns as OH had chemo about 6 years ago (didn’t think we would even conceive in all honesty).

I wish I could just chill out and enjoy the ride, but every little twinge is terrifying. Lots of backache and cramps feeling (like I’ve overdone it with crunches lol), headaches and generally feeling yuck.

I have a GP appointment next week, booked for something else, but I am going to request an early scan to assess viability before booking with the midwives. This is not helped by the fact I’m 35 and have 2 teenagers (hello 14 year age gap).

These first weeks are horrible, anxious and there’s nothing you can do other than take the vitamins and cut out any naughty habits

@Chlo2701 I think my boys will move out lol!! I have booked a private scan for 3 weeks time anyway. If I have to cancel, so be it. At least OH will be able to come. Now to quit smoking and coffee! Argh, why do things happen when you’re not prepared for it?!

I am 25, first pregnancy.. mixture of nervous, excited and anxious! Probs explains the heart palpitations but I’m trying my absolute best to stay calm ha ha xx

Congratulations to everyone! I got my BFP a couple of weeks ago and feeling all the things you guys are! The May 2021 thread has some lovely folk on and we have a Facebook group which is really supportive place to be

Anyone else having a hard time believing it?? I've had multiple strong positives now but I just don't feel pregnant... Not sure if part of its me trying to protect myself a bit incase something goes wrong or what, only just over 5 weeks.... 12 week scan seems a long time away

@StrawberriCream I know what you mean... I had 2 evaps a couple months ago and really believed them. We were sooo ecstatic hugging and kissing.
Then obviously it wasn’t real.

This time around we’ve been kind of ‘well I THINK I am... let’s just be cautious’ so neither of us have buzzed like last time which is sad :( those evaps ruined this precious moment! I’m sure after another week or so if I’m still going strong then we will 100% be believing it.. and deffo by 12 weeks!

@BessieBye no major symptoms - I feel the same I think as when I had my mmc but I'm trying not to dwell on that and think that actually it's such a long time since I was last pregnant (2014) that I cant remember what early pregnancy was like for me really

What an amazing thread, I'm 7 weeks today..... I found out at 4 weeks ish, bit of a shock as I'm 40 and it's my 4th pregnancy.
Gone off coffee, the smell of eggs 🤢 and I'm just a tired, nauseous car crash at the mo.
One thing that has been bugging me is the amount of pink/brown spotting I've been getting to the point that I get worried when I have to go to the loo now 🤦‍♂️
Can't remember if it's normal or not, had a really weird squeezing sensation earlier where my c section scar is, I can only liken it to someone squeezing a balloon quiet hard (if that makes sense) didn't last long, around 10 mins at most 🤷‍♀️

Sore boobs arrived two days ago. I accidentally bumped into the edge of the counter while bending down and almost cried .

I also contacted my OB for an appointment in a few weeks and to discuss appointments etc....turns out in the country I live in there are 14-15 prenatal appointments and you get ultrasounds at EVERY SINGLE ONE. That seems insane to me?

@CrazyFooLady When did you go off eggs and coffee? I'm just over 4 weeks today and, while I'm generally not hungry, I don't have aversions to anythings specific.

I got my BFP yesterday. Was very very surprised and have no symptoms. Only did the test as a double check so I could have wine! Period is due around today I think but hard to tell .

My first baby was an accidental pregnancy. I remember feeling my usual period cramps and then wondering where it was. I then had slightly sore boobs so did a test.

@CrazyFooLady maybe speaking to a GP or midwife might put your mind at ease? Maybe take another test just to make you feel all giddy again!! :)

I haven’t gone off anything in particular or fancied anything in particular just yet. But I don’t really get excited about meal times anymore ha ha (I love food), but I think it’s just nerves/excitement.

Telling my Mam, Dad & sister tomorrow. I can’t physically wait!!!!! Xx

I'm now booked in for an early scan at 12 today. I'm panicking slightly as the spotting and cramping just would not stop last night, this morning it's all stopped again.
I'm more than worried, but the doctor I spoke to was lovely and got me is fairly quickly x

It was a bit confusing as she couldn't see anything on the abdominal scan so she had to do an internal scan (wasn't that bad although she clearly used a lot of lube and I felt like I was either bleeding or had pee'd myself )
Anyway, she found the pregnancy and yolk sac but couldn't see the Fetal pole.
So that kind of places me back to 5 ish weeks, I've got another scan in 2 weeks to see if it is growing or not x

Hi I had a BFP yesterday it was really faint. AF was due yesterday. I’m 4 +1 today.

I have lots of twinges in my lower abdomen which I keep panicking about.

Im not telling anyone yet and can’t really accept it as I have had an ectopic and a miscarriage this year. Thankfully I will qualify for an early scan at 6 weeks due to the previous ectopic so only need to wait a couple more weeks.

6 weeks pregnant today, still doesn't feel real.... Still not many symptoms other than being hungry and horny 🙈🙈 not really sure if the second really counts as a symptom. Got my booking in apt with the midwife 2nd October which seems ages away! Fingers crossed everything is OK.

@StrawberriCream wow!! 2nd Oct is in no time! I will expect mine in a months time then 😄 I am 5wks this weekend.

I am complete opposite 🤣 no appetite atm and I’m dry as a bone 😂😂😂😂😂!!

@XjustagirlX welcome and congrats! I am 4+5 today. I found out very early so time is gonna go soooooo slow! I also had a lot of mild cramps and twinges until maybe Tuesday and they’ve died down. My symptoms seem to hit late at night and first thing on a morning. The headaches have me crippled ! Xx
