So ladies.
You don’t need to say anything!! I know how stupid this will sound 🙈
My son is 14 weeks this Wednesday and this morning I woke up so nauseous I was very nearly sick a few times (I’m never sick) it passed by mid morning, I then went to the toilet and wiped what looked like an implant bleed, nothing since.
I’m EBF apart from a couple of weeks ago where I subbed a few feeds for a couple of days.
Anyone else ever been in this position. Is it normal to spot during breastfeeding?
I can’t get out to get a test today so sat on the sofa feeding my newborn worrying slightly 🤦‍♀️
Xxx

I'm not sure it's rare. I've been in the, I cannot believe I have been so stupid, position. I had my DD1 was born July 2011,DS came May 2012(9 month age gap). DD2 March 2014, DD3 Feb 2015(11 month). Now at the grand old of age of 31,Im pregnant again, DH was not amused to begin with 😂

FurbabyLife · 22/06/2020 18:09

I take balancing my diet more seriously than some of you do contraception.

Monsterjam · 22/06/2020 19:04

@FurbabyLife you say this like it has to be the other way around? Maybe for you it does and contraception is more important than a healthy diet, but for me I am not interested in using contraception, if I fall pregnant I will have babies until I’m ready to stop

Mummapenguin20 · 22/06/2020 19:05

No form of contraception is 100%
Dd1 i was on the pill didnt miss one day
Dd2 i was on the implant and now expecting ds And i was on the injection

Fate is fate if its ment to be it will be. Op try not to stress xx

FurbabyLife · 22/06/2020 19:40

No form of contraception is 100% but there are a LOT of them that are damn close! Pull out method is not one of them.

FurbabyLife · 22/06/2020 19:42

@Monsterjam I’d rather have Coronavirus than a baby so yes I take it pretty damn seriously. Managed to get to my mid-30s without so much as a pregnancy scare.

Just can’t believe how little consideration people give to creating children here!

AlrightAlrightAlright · 22/06/2020 19:45

Erm... you can get pregnant from precum so pulling out is pointless - you're already playing with fire.

I don't even have kids and I know that

Temple29 · 22/06/2020 19:54

I would get DH to pick up a test on his way home and hopefully that puts your mind at ease OP

ttcchapter1 · 22/06/2020 19:59

@furbabylife then why are you on a mumsnet pregnancy forum, commenting on a pregnancy scare post? Miss 'Ive never even had a pregnancy scare'

You're so pathetic.

NoRoomInBed · 22/06/2020 20:01

I had a pull out baby 😊 obviously it's not as safe as condoms but what's done is done. Itll be fine OP the kids will be the best of friends. Just ask if OH can pick on up just in case.

FurbabyLife · 22/06/2020 20:06

Who wouldn’t want to click on a post entitled ‘Warning, dickhead alert’? 😂 By ‘pathetic‘ do you mean ‘takes concentration seriously’?

FurbabyLife · 22/06/2020 20:07

Contraception*

Myhooversucks · 22/06/2020 20:31

Aw why do things have to become bitchy?
I’ll take the 🙄 to the pull out method... but yes even though I’m slightly anxious at the thought of a 11 month age gap this post was still made light heartedly. IF I am pregnant it will be a lovely addition to the family, ... no harm in being a little scared of the fact though and reaching out here to either prepare me for preg news (looks like there’s a bigger chance than I thought) or I would have got people saying it’s juat a small chance.

Any way I’ve asked my partner to grab a test and some beers 🤣
Shout out to all you who have been “happily” caught out with small age gaps. And thank you for all of your replies... XX

TwinkleStars15 · 22/06/2020 21:14

@Myhooversucks if you missed feeds a few weeks ago it may we’ll be your period returning. Many people who supplement with formula, even for a few feeds, will see their periods return.

roro87 · 22/06/2020 21:32

There is a term Irish twins based on how easy it is to end up pregnant while breastfeeding it is basically 12 months or less between babies. Hope everything works out the way you want it to OP

Smallsteps88 · 22/06/2020 21:50

Don’t use the term Irish twins.

Ske1 · 22/06/2020 21:54

I took contraception seriously, I had the implant.. Pregnant. The depo injection.. Pregnant. The pill.. Well you get it. Small age gaps are good if you can handle it, now I have two 8 year old and a 5 and 6 year old now. They all have the same interests and are all quite independent. Who's saying people don't take contraception seriously? I work full time so does DH, we are entitled to breed like rabbits if we want😁 adding to the fact that contraception failed and the fact we are both 31, been together for 18 years...what else to do when you have spoke about everything 😂😂 Some people are far to serious.

roro87 · 22/06/2020 22:11

@Smallsteps88 sorry I wasn't aware there was something wrong with it.

Isthisfinallyit · 22/06/2020 22:16

Pull out 😬

That's how my youngest nephew was made. They got used to the idea of another pregnancy quite quickly though. Cute kid.

DontStandSoClose · 22/06/2020 22:26

I'm surprised every single midwife you saw after giving birth didn't point out that exclusively breastfeeding was not a form of contraception. I was still in hospital and asked about contraception and then every single midwife said the same each visit. Just surprised you were never told. I was sick of hearing it to be honest. Six week check again the gp said "contraception? You know you can still get pregnant soon after having a baby".

Glad you managed to "pluck up the courage" to ask your boyfriend to buy a test.

Myhooversucks · 22/06/2020 23:05

Funny enough no one even told me about the new 6 week rule, I thought you could have sex when ready. I think one midwife mentioned contraception but still I definitely should know better.
So I’ve taken a test. There is a faint line but I’m not convinced it’s not a Evap line, my partner got Clearblue so will re test in a couple of days if I don’t get my period. Xx

@Myhooversucks Agreed, don’t know why people have to turn judgmental and bitchy, I’ve read your post in the way you I think you wanted it, lighthearted with a hint of dread haha. Your ‘my treat’ text made me laugh!
