@LASandOtto I think Mina is a beautiful name and it means something to you both.
My Grandmother was German and her name was Helga. God rest her soul, but her name was never an option 😬😬😬

SunStruck · 12/05/2020 19:47

@LASandOtto great seeing you and @Avocuddles here! Just found this thread 😃 amazing you're so far along, congrats on your scan! I am having my 20 week scan tomorrow when I'm 20+3. My due date is 28 September and I'm having a little boy! 💙 but nervewrecking for tomorrow but I'm hoping all will be fine.

I'm not feeling the baby as much as everyone else as far along as me, just a bit of prodding and poking from inside sometimes but it's so soft that it could also just be gas 😳

@UrsulaSings I've gained 5.7lbs so far!

LASandOtto · 12/05/2020 21:12

Congratulations @myfirsttimehere on your scan and that it went well!!! And on your little girl! 😊 wonderful news, I bet you've been buzzing all day?

At my scan the wrote it down on a piece of paper for me so I could open it with my OH later on as no partners at scans. It has a little disclaimer at the bottom saying that 100% certainty couldn't be guaranteed due to the nature of scans etc, but I'm sure at 20 weeks it can be determined fairly accurately.

@usernameannonymous 24 weeks is a milestone! I'm looking forward to getting past it as well, suddenly it feels like the days and weeks are dragging since the 20 week scan! Where have you been buying bits? Any suggestions of things you found?

I think there's is a virtual baby show on this weekend if anyone is interested - I might sign up and see if there's any deals. www.thebabyshow.co.uk/article/baby-show-live-home

@lockdownpregnancy thanks for liking the name! I do like it and it has a personal sentiment to me especially, and OH likes it too! Helga is... very German if I may say so myself 😉! I see some names sometimes and think hmmm.... but each to their own and no judgement I guess! We all have our personal preferences!

@SunStruck GIRL how nice to see you on here! Whooop! I know you and @Avocuddles were just 2 weeks or so behind me when we were on the conception thread and I did often think of you as I did still read the thread from time to time but couldn't keep up with all the posts. I had a rather anxious first few weeks as I know you'll empathise with having also had two previous miscarriages, so, stayed away from MN for a while. I cannot believe you've put any weight on, you're such a gym bunny! 😊 How is everything for you abroad, if I recall, you're in the Middle East somewhere? Congratulations on your boy, how lovely! So happy for you!!! Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you. We've come so far!

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 21:31

Yes @LASandOtto VERY German indeed! 😂
So lovely to read people have come through the other side from so many worries to get to this point! Makes me smile a lot!
Let's just all hope we stay safe and well for the rest of our pregnancies!
Ive been terrified to buy any baby clothes as I wanted to get to 20'weeks and now I have I went a bit mental on the Next website, but my cousin works there, so she ordered them for me as she gets a 25% discount! Woohoo!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

SunStruck · 13/05/2020 15:03

@LASandOtto thanks girl, so good to see you in here again too! Completely understand the early anxiety! All good here thanks, WFH and will probably not go back to work tbh as they are quite strict here (pregnant women are in the "vulnerable" group). That feels so weird as I started to WFH at 11 weeks... to not see any colleagues again!

How are you holding up and are you also WFH?

My scan today went very well thank you! 🥰 God. I think it's finally time to start buying some stuff 🤦🏻‍♀️ we have a Moses basket and just a onesies and that's all!

Yeah put on a bit but hoping I can get away with under 22lbs weight gain 😬 as long as the baby is healthy I'm happy!

September babies?
LASandOtto · 13/05/2020 18:08

@SunStruck so nice to hear and so HAPPY your scan went well! Do they provide 3D scan photos? That's not bad, but I guess maybe where you are you've got private healthcare arrangements?

I've been WFH since mid March, it wasn't a huge issue as I used to work from home a few days here and there anyway, so, been very lucky! In my industry -travel- it's been a rollercoaster as I'm sure it's been for so many other industries too. Lucky to still be employed full time and working more hours than ever before but I'm grateful!

After the 20 week scan I felt much more relaxed (at last) - now actually feeling excited and looking forward to the future! Still very much taking it day by day but not feeling as apprehensive to 'plan' some things as previously!

If you remember from the old thread we moved into our new flat just before lockdown and we are still doing a lot of work. We are having our two bathrooms re-done in the next couple of weeks, and new sofa on order (yaaaaay) and a few other bits!

Not bought much aside from a couple of cute outfits for the baby, but have a list with everything that I think we will need. Hopefully by the time we are due it'll be easy to order stuff anyway so I'm sure it makes sense to also hold off and buy some bits once baby is here, as they might not take to certain ways of sleeping!

How are you doing otherwise and how is work? Do they know you're pregnant already?

Hope all the other ladies are doing well on the thread! X

lockdownpregnancy · 22/05/2020 15:50

Hi September baby ladies! How are you all?
Just checking in to ask if any of you have started experiencing the wonderful world of heartburn yet?
Mine started yesterday and woke me up in the middle of the night 😑
Purchased an extremely large bottle of gaviscon today so I'm hoping it will work!
Hope you are all keeping well? 🥰

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 22/05/2020 16:05

Not heartburn but I have indigestion quite a lot. I think baby is squashing my insides now and that’s making it difficult.

lockdownpregnancy · 22/05/2020 17:36

I'm sure I'll get that too at some point! 😂 oh well! I've done so well so far I'm not going to complain! So many ladies suffer soooo much, so I shouldn't whinge! Well, not too much anyway! 😝

LASandOtto · 22/05/2020 18:11

Hi ladies!

@lockdownpregnancy oh no, heartburn must feel awful! I have it just every now and then and manageable (thankfully). Instead I've had swollen feet and hands yesterday (must have been the weather too) and just felt super hot all day....

Anyone got their pram yet? What's your options?

lockdownpregnancy · 22/05/2020 18:20

Took the dog for a long walk yesterday @LASandOtto and my hands hurt to put them in a fist by the time we got back they were that swollen! Couldn't get my wedding rings off! 😂
I haven't got heartburn all the time thank good and hopefully I won't! I can but dream!
My pram has been gifted to me from my brother so I have no clue what it is! 😂
I'm just grateful I don't have to spend a stupid amount of money on buying a new one! 👍🏻

Cherryrainbow · 22/05/2020 18:22

No heartburn but struggling to sleep because it's so muggy atm. Anyone else been shopping for baby stuff yet? X

N0107121 · 22/05/2020 18:35

We've ordered most of our big baby stuff apart from the pram. Still being optimistic that I'll be able to test some out first! We've got some little bits as well x

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 22/05/2020 18:44

Anyone else got boiling feet? My feet feel like they’re 1000° all the time at the moment even though the rest of me is fine. I hate it!

I have my pram but I’m reusing my travel system from when I had DD. I have the Uppababy Cruz.

myfirsttimehere · 22/05/2020 18:59

Hey Everyone! :)

I have heartburn too now and then, but it's not too bad! The only thing that seems to be bothering me are my hips now and then haha I've got a few bits and bobs but still hoping I'll be able to go to the shops at some point! No idea what pram to get either! Xx

LASandOtto · 22/05/2020 19:05

@BeingATwatItsABingThing oh yes me 🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm already only walking around in Birkenstock's now as that's all that feels comfortable. Yesterday evening I could barely sleep as felt so hot, was fantasising about a fan/air con...

I'm looking at the Uppababy Cruz (also the Vista)... think the Cruz looks good as seems more lightweight. I live in London and currently don't drive so a large bulky pram will be a challenge. I've also looked at the Babyzen Yo-Yo with the newborn pack, but don't like that it's not parent facing after 6 months.

@Cherryrainbow I've bought a few baby clothes items as there were some sales online, Sainsbury's had 25% off. Also got some bits from Marks and Spencer.

Signed up to NCT classes which will start first week of July! Hope to be able to learn a bit more about what to expect... feel really clueless atm.

@lockdownpregnancy yes I hear you! My OH's parents are buying us the pram which I'm very grateful for and wasn't expecting. Very kind of them!

I think I'm going to hunt for some second hand baby clothes on eBay etc as there seems to be so much hardly used second hand items for a fraction of the price!

When is everyone having their 25 weeks appointments, if you're having one? I know there seems to be variations on appointments according to trusts. Mine is a phone one.

How are your bumps coming along, if you have one? Xx

lockdownpregnancy · 22/05/2020 19:25

@LASandOtto we are super lucky as my mom bought us the cot, my brother has given us the pram and travel system and my sister in law on my DH's side is giving us her next to me crib, baby bath and Angel Care breathing monitor! We've saved a serious amount of cash in their generosity!
The only major thing we've bought is a Snooze pod (Moses basket), a few bits, baby monitor and few baby grows.
I'm one of these weirdos that has to plan ahead extremely early on to keep my anxiety down.
Currently decorating the nursery and all the furniture has arrived today.
My 25 weeks check is 16th June and I'm physically seeing my midwife as my bloods haven't been checked since my 12 week scan.
My bump is pretty big to be fair. I'm only small but since around 18 weeks I've really grown! Quite concerned over the size of me to be fair, as a couple of my family members have said I'm massive! 😫

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 22/05/2020 19:42

@LASandOtto

I love my Cruz! It was perfect for us and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Here’s my bump. I’m 23 weeks tomorrow.

Sunsage · 22/05/2020 19:58

Hi lovelies! Thought I'd join on here, I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and my feet have been absolutely roasting I didn't even think it was a pregnancy thing until reading this thread! 😂

I have bought 2 little outfits and that's it 😳 lockdown is making it all seem not real or something?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 22/05/2020 20:08

@Sunsage

I googled it today because I wanted to check it wasn’t a symptom of CV. Blush They’ve cooled down a bit now but it’s been miserable. I can’t stand having too hot or too cold feet!

LASandOtto · 22/05/2020 20:09

@BeingATwatItsABingThing you look great 😊 and really happy to hear you've had such a good experience with the Cruz. I am going to see if I can try one out in person prior to buying as it's such a big financial commitment!

@lockdownpregnancy so lovely that you've had so many gifts from family members, that really is nice! Have you got a theme for your nursery? Send us some photos when you have decorated so we can have a look 😃. We only moved into our new flat end of Jan and the room we are currently using as our 'dressing room' (box room) will become baby's room from 6 months onwards hopefully. Haven't planned anything yet though but I do like looking at all the nice wallpaper and decorations. I quite like the jungle/animals prints and generally just like brighter colours, something a bit different maybe.

@Sunsage welcome! We desperately needed a September thread! I'm only a few days ahead of you, also only got a couple of clothes bits so far but now actually looking at Facebook Market Place, Ebay and Shpock to see if there's second hand bundles. A lot of the newborn and 0-3 months clothing items seem to be barely worn for long as might just try and save on that expense by going pre-loved!

Made a list of everything we will eventually need to get a couple of weeks ago though as have to budget as we are also doing refurbs to the flat currently (bathroom is being redone end of next week), having massive tree cut down by a tree surgeon next week also... it all addd up 😑

Has anyone still managed exercise? I'm going a lovely pregnancy yoga class in Saturday mornings via zoom. Its a pregnant lady doing the class and there's about 8-11 other ladies at different stages. It's very calming and relaxing! She actually told us to mention it to other pregnant friends we have as anyone can join, if anyone fancies it I'll post the link. She charges £13 per class (1.5 hours long).

LASandOtto · 22/05/2020 20:12

@lockdownpregnancy this is the wallpaper I liked for a nursery btw

September babies?
Sunsage · 22/05/2020 20:23

Thank you I'm excited to join! I'm a long time creeper on mumsnet but don't always post.

Definitely a good idea going pre loved! I've added a lot of nursery items to my ikea wish list so I'm being productive in some ways 😂 thankfully being gifted a lot of baby items from family members who no longer need them.

Exercise I'm doing my daily walk and trying to do yoga but I've been finding it all very tough in lockdown. Your yoga class sounds lovely! I've just been using YouTube.

lockdownpregnancy · 22/05/2020 21:26

@LASandOtto loving the paper! Very jungle indeed!
We have gone with a jungle theme but a more cartoon style with wall stickers instead of wallpaper, to try and keep the cost down. We are painting the nursery a pale leaf green, so it's nice and bright and fresh!
Need to find some cot bedding but I'm struggling to find anything I like, or something that doesn't cost an absolute fortune!
I cannot believe cot bedding is so expensive! I can get a king size bed set for less! 😳
I've tried to put a picture of the stickers but it's not letting me 😭

LASandOtto · 26/05/2020 13:56

Hi Ladies!

Just checking in, how's everyone doing? Hope you had nice sunny weekends?
