Hi ladies! My 20 week scan went well! We have a very strong and healthy baby boy! 💙💙💙
Literally just sobbed when they told me! Absolutely over the moon!

How did everyone else get on who had their scans today?

September babies?
Cherryrainbow · 11/05/2020 20:07

Congratulations @lockdownpregnancy !

My scan went really well. Found out we are having a little girl :) our boys are so chuffed.

lockdownpregnancy · 11/05/2020 20:11

How fabulous @Cherryrainbow glad everything went well with you too!!! It's all very real! Eeeeekkkkk!!!! 💙💖💙💖💙💖

Daisysandviolets · 12/05/2020 06:51

Congratulations!! Had my scan yesterday but we didn’t find out the gender so will be a surprise! But I feel so chuffed today to have seen them again and how well they are developing! Got told I have a low placenta and need to have another scan at 34 weeks to see if it moved up if not will be a c section but to be honest in just so chuffed the baby is ok! Xxx

I'm due 20th September with my first and we found out that we're having a little girl! 💕

We had our scan last Monday when I was 20+1 and everything looked well, currently 21+2 today and over the moon!

myfirsttimehere · 12/05/2020 07:12

Hi everyone! I'm also due 24th September! Have my scan this morning, nervous but excited! Hoping to find out what we're having!

Avocuddles · 12/05/2020 07:16

@LASandOtto good to see you!

I'm 20 + 2 and found out yesterday that I'm having a little girl, due 27th September. I was really nervous before the scan, having had two first trimester miscarriages it's still a bit of a struggle to believe that we might be bringing a baby home this time, but am starting to allow myself to think about buying things and getting ready at long last.....

mrs87 · 12/05/2020 07:35

Congrats everyone! Good luck @myfirsttimehere, let us know how you get on Smile

LASandOtto · 12/05/2020 08:28

Lovely to hear so many updates of scans that went well, and @myfirsttimehere I hope yours goes very well this morning too!

@Avocuddles nice to see you on here! I know you're not far behind me... I couldn't keep up with the other thread we were on together, but still pop on from time to time to read to see if you, SunStruck and MrsMGE are doing well! 😊 I'll never forget your support!

My next appointment at 25 weeks is a phone one, not sure what is going to be asked then? Anyone else know?

I was meant to have the whooping cough jab after my 20 week scan but it didn't happen. Not sure who I need to book this in with so I'll ask during my phone appointment at the end of May!

How's everyone else feeling after their scans for those who have had them? I was definitely more excited (after two previous miscarriages) and started to look at things to buy. I hope by August we may even be able to look at some bigger ticket items in stores in person rather than online! I know you can watch YouTube videos comparing prams, but it just doesn't feel the same as being in the shop trying it out.

Have a good day all! Xx

Nicalo2019 · 12/05/2020 09:19

Hey all so we are all more or less due at the same time, I'm 20+4 today and haven't felt the baby yet. Has anyone else felt there's? This is my first so not sure how it will feel just slightly concerned I haven't felt anything.

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 09:39

@Nicalo2019 I'm 20+2 and I felt baby kick for the first time at the weekend and he's not stopped bless him!
Everyone is different and my friend didn't feel her little girl kick until she was gone 25 weeks. I think it's hard for FTM to register an actual 'kick' seeing as though none of us actually know what it feels like!
It also depends on where you place ya is lying. If it's low or at the front then it will be more difficult for you to feel baby kick.
If you haven't felt anything in the next few weeks have a chat with your midwife at your 25 week appointment.
If you've had your 20 week scan and baby is healthy then I wouldn't worry for now 🥰🥰🥰

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 09:40

Placenta*

Nicalo2019 · 12/05/2020 09:47

@lockdownpregnancy thank you for your reply, yes everything was fine at scan n he was moving about loads. Just want to feel him to get that extra re assurance I think, the sonographer did advise the placenta was at the front so that may be why I haven't felt anything yet. Hopefully it will happen soon! Was thinking of buying a doppler but I think I would scare myself if I can't find the heartbeat xx

LASandOtto · 12/05/2020 09:55

@Nicalo2019 don't worry, sounds like you have an anterior placenta from what your list, so as @lockdownpregnancy has mentioned, there's more of a cushion which will be why you haven't felt movement yet! I'm 23 weeks today due 8th Sept and my first definite movements started end of week 19 / start of week 20 when I really paid attention in the evenings, or just before bed time. My placenta is high posterior.

I was anxious to feel movement too! Once you do, it'll be really lovely! I think worrying never stops in pregnancy - and motherhood! Best we all get used to it 😬

N0107121 · 12/05/2020 16:31

Hello!
Congratulations everyone! I'm due September 16th and we're expecting a boy!
I started feeling him around 19 weeks and have been told my placenta is posterior.

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 17:03

Do any of us have names for our little bundles of joy?
Our baby boy is going to be named William Jospeh after my DH's grandad 🥰
We've always liked classic names and DH was always so close to his grandad, so it's very fitting. Plus (this is going to sound totally bizarre!) he just feels like a William! 💙💙

UrsulaSings · 12/05/2020 17:13

@LASandOtto I'm one day ahead of you!! Due 7th sept!!

I was 23 weeks yesterday and feel huge! I've put on a stone so far Confused how much weight has everyone else put on?

I've felt him move since 19 weeks also, but I have an anterior placenta. He moves so much though, I think he's just super active so it's easier to notice!

I am so unbelievably excited and shitting myself all at the same time!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 12/05/2020 17:14

Yes, we’ve chosen our name but aren’t telling anyone or sharing it online. I don’t want anyone finding out before she’s born.

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 17:31

@BeingATwatItsABingThing we haven't told anyone either, but seeing as though no one on here knows who I am, I thought I'd share! 🥰
@UrsulaSings I've put on 17lb so far and I'm 20+2 weeks.
I didn't want to put on more than 20lb for my pregnancy but that's gone right out the window! 😂 now hoping I don't put on more than 30lb now! 😬😬😬

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 12/05/2020 17:35

@lockdownpregnancy
I’m paranoid and don’t want to risk it. Grin

lockdownpregnancy · 12/05/2020 18:11

@BeingATwatItsABingThing fair dos! 😝😝

LASandOtto · 12/05/2020 18:50

@UrsulaSings how nice, we are so close in due dates!!

I feel the same, I've put on 11 pounds so far and I saw a pregnancy weight calculator online where you put in your pre-pregnancy weight and then it tells you a range to aim for by week, in terms of weight gain! Well, I think I'm slightly over already at 22 weeks when I checked so tomorrow is my next weight check, I do it Wednesday mornings! Dread it 😂!

@lockdownpregnancy I love your name for your little boy! Classic names are great and timeless. If it's your DH's grandad's name, it is meaningful and a lovely sentiment. We're thinking along the same lines for our girl, my grandmother who was a wonderful woman was called Mina (a German name, and I am German) and we wanted to use it but on second thoughts I don't know whether it'll always be mis-spelt to Meena? So, we are now toying with the idea of something else, maybe Mia. Let's see, DH has ordered one of those books with thousands of names and I opened the first page and some of the names are so ridiculous, I couldn't even continue on! I'd rather we found something together in another way.

@myfirsttimehere how did your scan go? Hope all was ok?

Has anyone debated signing up to NCT classes in their area? I think we will give it a go, I feel like I know very little currently and reading a book would be fine for some guidance but I need some interaction to learn, and they're doing the classes via Zoom so might also still 'meet' some people in the area. We moved here just before lockdown (I'm in London).

myfirsttimehere · 12/05/2020 18:58

Hey again everyone! The scan went well, everything is looking good! We are having a little girl 💗 I'm over the moon! is anybody else paranoid that they've got it wrong? 😂😂 they just kept reminding me they cant ever say it's 100%, now I'm bloody worrying again!

usernameannonymous · 12/05/2020 18:58

I'm due September 2nd and expecting a little girl! 💗 tomorrow I'll be 24 weeks which is viability! I've got so many clothes already but not much else, oops. Can't wait to meet her Smile

usernameannonymous · 12/05/2020 19:01

@myfirsttimehere
Congratulations on your little girl!
I asked my scan person if they were sure and whether they saw the 3 lines (I couldn't believe it so needed to check she was definitely (or near enough) a girl). I had to go out and have a walk as baby wasn't cooperating so when the lady checked measurements again, she shower me the 'potty shot' and I saw the 3 lines. I was gobsmacked but so so happy as I really wanted a little girl! Smile
