Much windier in the garden today which is nice, glad to be stuck at home, saves money on maternity clothes!!
Keen to get some nursing clothes though; anyone know any good places to go online? I'm finding that most nursing clothes are both maternity and nursing combined which is don't really want!?
Hope everyone's having a good day xx

So glad to be home. Spent 3 days in hospital as my baby stopped moving this week but luckily seems,to have started again yesterday and today. Think he might be kicking the placenta.
I've had pelvic pains too but they come and go. Just find it hard to get comfortable now.

LassoOfTruth · 31/05/2020 16:42

Hi all! @Rosebel, hope you're okay, that sounds very stressful.
Won't be long until we see some babies appear, pretty exciting! I feel like I've got a bowling ball between my legs and while the sunshine is lovely, the heat has made my hands and feet look like balloons. I can't stand up for long, it's so uncomfortable! Shooting pains in the vulva also not fun at all. Best to stay in the shade with an ice lolly methinks.
I'm officially off work now and thankfully DH is also taking this week coming off. I had the toddler by myself all day on Friday and thought I would pass out waddling after her Grin Fair to say we watched a lot more TV than I'd normally allow so that mummy could sneak in a nap or two.

Millettmum · 31/05/2020 18:20

@Rosebel
Hope everything is ok now.

Not been too bad with the heat last couple of days and I've been out and about.

My hands are swollen this morning (normally an evening thing) and I've got a feeling my face is as well. Anyone else had this?

OP posts:
Bikbikmum · 01/06/2020 13:21

I had 36 weeks scan today, was difficult to see her face.. head is down. she is 6lbs 9 oz already!!! 66th% Oh god, I hope she doesnt wait until 41-42 weeks, will be a big baby 😂😂 everything looks normal now.

I wish there is a way to know when she will come.

My hands and ankles are swollen too. I think it is the heatwave. Probably nothing serious but good to keep an eye on. @Millettmum

Millettmum · 01/06/2020 16:47

@Bikbikmum
I never get pictures anymore with scans, did you have to ask for yours?

Hi all
I’m due any day now with baby number 7
And I’m normally absolutely fine but this time round I’m a nervous wreck. I think it’s because I will be giving birth here in the UK which I haven’t done with my first who is now 18. I will only have my partner with me as my family are back in Australia as we live part time here and got stuck here in lockdown.

Bikbikmum · 01/06/2020 18:34

@Millettmum ooh, I didnt know that. I have always asked but more like a conversation rather than asking for it. And they always give me one image. This time she said, it is very hard to get the face since the baby is down but she would try.

@EsmaeDe welcome! You might be the first mum who gives birth under this thread then! 😇 pls keep us up to date.

Having no family is challenging. Sorry to hear that. I have been living in the UK for 11 years now so we are permanent residents. UK is our home. However, due to covid, none of our family members could come to help us for this first baby. We also don't know when they will be able to come and visit the baby or when we would feel safe again to travel with little one. We are living in strange times... On the other hand, even if family or friends are in the same country, no one could visit each other properly right now, so I guess it doesn't matter much.

EsmaeDe · 01/06/2020 18:47

Definitely a challenge! And I will keep you updated.
I think it’s just the thought of having them here, but FaceTime will suffice 😊

Sunshine8920 · 03/06/2020 14:23

How nice is this cooler weather today! Did NOT know what to do with myself in the heat yesterday!
38+1 today.... come on baby!!

Millettmum · 03/06/2020 14:28

@Sunshine8920
Yes much better, was still warm in the night for me though. Even attempting some baking today!

Loving the cooled weather although I'm still hot. But it's much better than it was

Goodgoodthings · 03/06/2020 18:27

@Millettmum @Rosebel @Sunshine8920 never thought I would be so happy for some drizzle! Felt so different in my body for the cooler temp! How is everyone feeling? I’m 36+2 now and things are feeling more real.

Hope you ladies don’t mind me asking how you’re coping with (if you have) leaky boobs? This is my first baby so I’m feeling a bit unprepared. Midwife told me to try not to touch them too much in case it brings on early labour and this has freaked me out a bit!?

Rosebel · 03/06/2020 19:04

I'm almost the same 36+3. Never had leaky breasts with any of mine until after the birth but just used breast pads when I did. They are incredibly tender though. My husband accidentally (so he says) brushed against them last night and I yelled at him. Don't remember if it's normal for them to be so tender.
Also worrying as they've changed the week I'll be having my c section so its the same week as my daughter's birthday. I don't know the actual date yet but she'll be gutted and so will I if miss it (especially as its not going to be the best birthday as obviously we can't see anyone).

Millettmum · 03/06/2020 20:36

@Goodgoodthings
Yes I have leaky boobs which leave crusty bits on the inside of my bra but not enough I don't think to warrant using breast pads. I'm at the midwives tomorrow which I'll ask about harvesting the colostrum (they mentioned it at the last appointment two weeks ago) but they say to start after 37 weeks as I guess it could help start labour but I honestly wouldn't mind baby coming after 37 weeks. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow x

OP posts:
LassoOfTruth · 03/06/2020 22:42

No leaky boobs here yet at 37+5 and counting. Didn't get this before either though. I used washable bamboo breast pads last time (after birth etc) which were helpful. Pretty grateful for the drop in temperature around here although the weather has made it harder to occupy DD without resorting to lots of TV! Poor child, I'm too tired all the time to do much with her, though otherwise well I suppose. Just wish I could sleep!
Saw the midwife today, always nice to hear that little heartbeat. Feeling a bit sad that my (twin) sister and her DC probably won't see the new baby for months. Even if lockdown rules/advice is relaxed I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the risk to a tiny newborn. Also there's no way I could refrain from squeezing my nieces as I miss them so much Sad.

MRSRCH · 04/06/2020 21:03

Evening everyone. Hope you all are well. Had midwife appointment today at 36 weeks and done the usual tests and she said 'oh baby is 3/5ths engaged' Now being my third baby does this mean much? Will I be expecting my little one anytime soon?

Rosebel · 04/06/2020 21:22

I don't think it means your baby will arrive any sooner (sorry) think it just means when you go in to labour it should be easier.
I'm absolutely desperate for my baby to arrive now, been a pretty bad pregnancy and now just want to meet my little boy.

Bikbikmum · 04/06/2020 22:03

Just had my midwife app today, all looks good, head is down. My belly dropped -she mentioned lightening- And the trust have approved my home birth request. So fingers crossed I am going to have one hopefully! I am arranging the pool now.. We went through my birth plans (plan a and plan b for worst case)

The million dollar question is-> when this baby will arrive? I wish I have magical powers to know this!!!! 36+3 / 1st baby

Re. Leaky boobs: I had during my 2nd trimester. Nothing at the moment.

Millettmum · 05/06/2020 08:07

@Bikbikmum
Had mine yesterday as well, said head was moving down but she's not engaged yet. Might get bouncing on a ball.

Sunshine8920 · 05/06/2020 09:12

My baby's head was down at 36 weeks, however I was admitted last night, after a long day of scans and monitors!

I'm currently 38+3, waiting to find out what they want to do with me. All I want right now is breakfast and some sleep lol I can't think about thing else right now.

Millettmum · 05/06/2020 09:42

@Sunshine8920 oh no! Fingers crossed for you. What was the reason?
