Hope you don't mind me joining.
I was due 3rd July but will be having a c section at some point in June. Bit concerned I'm only 34 weeks but measuring at 37 but having a scan next week so we'll see,what happens. Think he might just be a big baby like his,sister.
Getting a bit concerned about the birth and having a new,baby as I last gave birth 12 years ago.

Millettmum · 23/05/2020 10:14

Enjoy @Bikbikmum!

@Rosebel I've just had a look at my growth chart and the fundal height differs a lot from my growth scans. At 31 weeks my fundal height was showing at the 90th centile but the scan showed nearer the 10th centile! My last fundal height dipped to around 55/60 centil and my scan has gone up to around 30th centile.

@Rosebel
Oh and I gave birth last nearly 14 years ago, we can do this!

@Millettmum thank you 🙏🏻

@Rosebel welcome!!! I think there are advantages of having a planned c section, please don't worry. You can plan things ahead, you can still personalize your experience by requesting skin to skin or any other details... Most important thing is yours and baby's health. As long as you are both happy and healthy nothing matters. All births are unpredictable, one can plan a home birth and end up having an emergency csection.
Corona lockdown taught me that we really can't plan things ahead. You will never know!

These are what I keep reminding myself! It is easier said than done but we all need positive vibes in our lives right now.

LassoOfTruth · 25/05/2020 22:28

Welcome @Rosebel!

I had my last scan on Friday - 36 weeks exactly. Bit weird going without my DH but actually it was fine. Quite enjoyed the alone time in the car (sad I know!)
Sonographer assured me that baby is around 6lb 10 now, so unlikely to get to beyond about 8lb at term. I was measuring so big I was concerned about a giant baby but this seems manageable, even though DD was only 6lb 12 at birth.
Finally I have packed my bag and so now we are just waiting I suppose! I really really want to avoid an induction this time so I'm booked in for a C-section at 41 weeks IF I'm still pregnant then.
It's getting exciting now ladies! Keep well everyone.

Rosebel · 26/05/2020 01:23

Got my scan on Wednesday. My youngest was 10lb exactly so I'm just a bit concerned this baby will be big too.
It's all getting so real but know it'll be worth it when we have our babies,in our arms.

Millettmum · 26/05/2020 08:29

@LassoOfTruth
Oo so you'll be classed as full time this Friday, how exciting. I'm a couple of weeks behind you.

Millettmum · 26/05/2020 10:03

@Rosebel

@Flumo

@Flumo Braxton Hicks are so uncomfy! Mine started when I was around 20 weeks. I have them
Regularly, don't hurt just more awkward or uncomfy.
All good preparation though! :-)

Bikbikmum · 26/05/2020 22:31

Welcome @Flumo I am due 29th (35+1), I didnt have any Braxton hicks so far!

I have started raspberry leaf tablets, perineal massage and eating dates. Some friends and family told me that baby girls dont wait until w40 and tend to come earlier (after 36-37 weeks). Is this a myth? :)

Still didnt prepare my hospital bag and finalize my birth plan yet. I am getting anxious and excited nowadays, realizing for the first time that the baby will be with us shortly.

Does anyone experience irresistable afternoon naps? This week I tend to sleep 1-2 hours in the afternoon and I can not keep my eyes open.

Millettmum · 26/05/2020 22:49

@Bikbikmum
My DD only came two days early and that's because some of my waters went and I ended up getting induced. But hoping to be earlier second time round.

Millettmum · 26/05/2020 22:49

Oh and I resisted afternoon naps so far.

Rosebel · 27/05/2020 01:16

I don't tend to sleep well at night obviously so I've been napping all over the place. By about 3 I just can't keep my eyes open. Managed to sleep for 2 hours tonight but then got woken with heartburn

Rosebel · 27/05/2020 04:38

Have any of you thought about childcare yet (if you're going back to work)? We can't find anything and of course lots of places are shut. I start work at 5 in the morning my husband at 7:30 but nowhere opens until 7:30. Looking like I'll have to go back on weekends (both days) which means no family time.

Bikbikmum · 27/05/2020 07:28

@Rosebel we havent. I hope to go back to work mid Feb. We didnt approach to any nurseries yet. They are all closed. Do you plan to approach them now?

Rosebel · 27/05/2020 07:45

Only really looked on some websites but also we have to move in August so not sure where we'll be living.
I plan to go back after Christmas and worried about there being no spaces but as I said I can't find one to fit in with our work hours.

Millettmum · 27/05/2020 08:19

@Rosebel
Think you might struggle for a nursery at that time of the morning. How about a childminder who then takes them to nursery? Can't work be flexible?

Rosebel · 28/05/2020 18:27

My eldest was 4 days late but then she was a lazy baby (still is at 13) but the other girls in my family have been around a week early. So maybe my daughter is unusual.

Bikbikmum · 29/05/2020 07:47

I wish there is any way we could predict around when she will be here..
Do they understand from the position or from scans? @Rosebel 😂

My midwife call me yesterday, although birth centre is still closed, she got permission for me for home birth. In our area home births are subject to special permission at the moment. She still hopes birth centre might be open then that would be my first choice.

It is very diffucult, I have no idea, how to prepare myself, could be birth centre, could be home, could be hospital...

Bikbikmum · 30/05/2020 18:29

I have massive pressure around my pubic bones and vagina.. it hurts... does anyone else feel very full down there?

Millettmum · 30/05/2020 21:09

@Bikbikmum
Yes, some days are better than others. Making it more difficult to walk.

OP posts:
Flumo · 30/05/2020 21:39

Thank you for all the welcome comments 😁 Braxton hicks seem to have calmed down other the last couple of days, I'm kept busy with these 2 to run after so i might not be noticing as much. My daughter was 4 days late. I've got a lot of pressure down In my pelvic bone but I've noticed that I've dropped in the last couple of days so would have thought that is the reason. Hope everyone is coping in the heat, thankfully I got boohoo all year next day delivery so got a couple of cheap cool maternity dress ordered 🥵

Millettmum · 30/05/2020 22:39

I wore my DHs shorts today ha. It's felt a lot cooler here today with a nice breeze. Don't even think we'll need the fan tonight.

OP posts:
Sunshine8920 · 31/05/2020 13:22

@Bikbikmum pelvic pain on and off for last couple of weeks; only have 2 weeks 2 days left but that pain is horrible! If I sit too long it hurts so bad to walk! But if I don't sit it hurts too!
