Has anyone else got really sore inner thighs? Almost like you've overdone it exercising? I'm sure it's normal but can't remember if I had it befot.

Millettmum · 13/06/2020 07:51

@Rosebel
Not inner thighs, I get pelvis, hips and lower back.

Aww Koo congratulations!!! BearHaloFlowers
I've been having lots of Braxton Hicks at night especially and my hips are killing me tbh. Ready now baby bean! They won't let me go past 41 weeks (geriatric) so my C-section is booked for the 26th, when I'll be 41 weeks exactly. I really want to go into labour before then though! Wishing all you lovely ladies luck!

Koo33 · 13/06/2020 16:48

Thank you so much @LassoOfTruth we are home
now and my husband and I are just so in love with him 💙

Millettmum · 13/06/2020 23:02

Did my first harvest of colostrum, got 1ml which I'm happy with.

Bikbikmum · 14/06/2020 21:30

My hips were killing last week as well. My husband bought a massager (a small one) and it works very well in the mornings...

@Millettmum did anyone tell you to collect colostrum or did you decide to do that? How many weeks are you?

Millettmum · 15/06/2020 08:38

@Bikbikmum I have read about it but midwife also mentioned it. I have gestational diabetes and could be good if baby has low blood sugars.

OP posts:
Millettmum · 15/06/2020 08:39

I'm 37 +4, they say after 37 weeks you can do it.

Bikbikmum · 15/06/2020 09:40

@Millettmum I see... My midwife didnt mention anything, I'll see her this thursday... Around 20-24 weeks, I was leaking but since then nothing at third trimester.

I am so excited, it is very difficult to wait now... I am 38+0 today.

Does any of you have used Tens Machine before? i have hired one and I wonder whether I should try it on my hubby before labour day??? They sent me extra pads.

Millettmum · 15/06/2020 10:29

@Bikbikmum has she talked about breastfeeding yet, was in the same conversation.
Regarding Tens I've never had one and not bothering this time either but heard a lot of people trying it on their arm first.

Bikbikmum · 15/06/2020 10:33

We didnt talk about breastfeeding yet no... I told her I wish to breasfeed and in my birth plan I have also added a note not to give any formula without our permission. She saw that. So she knows. @Millettmum

Millettmum · 15/06/2020 11:53

@Bikbikmum see what she says on Thursday, if you make it to then ha.

@Millettmum hahahhaha that would be amazing!!!!

Goodgoodthings · 15/06/2020 13:19

@Millettmum I’ve also been “harvesting” lol. Out of interest how many syringes did mw give you? I have two, but might ask for a couple more at my appointment today because it was so easy to express and I feel like I’m wasting it by not collecting it (have been having leaky boobs for the last few weeks).

Hope everyone is feeling good this week! The carefully phrased texts from well wishing relatives have started already! Very excited to have this baby earthside but also feeling a little sentimental about my last few weeks having her all to myself.

Millettmum · 15/06/2020 13:24

@Goodgoodthings
They actually gave me a ziplock bag of syringes of different sizes and attachments etc felt quite chuffed with it.
I've also been getting the messages and MIL rings everyday.

@Millettmum and @Goodgoodthings I finally started leaking (from boobs, already been leaking from apparently everywhere else) so harvesting some colostrum too yesterday. More out of curiosity than anything else. Might have another go tomorrow/later and freeze it in case I do make it as far as my booked-in C-section. I hope this baby comes before then though, my feet look like something out of the Evil Dead movies and I can barely heave myself around!
I'm seeing the MW on Wednesday and she has threatened a 'stretch and sweep' if I want - joy. I'll ask her about syringes as so far I've been using some urine sample vials Blush

Goodgoodthings · 15/06/2020 18:28

@Millettmum that’s so good! I asked for more today and she told me I could order some online if I wanted haha.

@LassoOfTruth this made me laugh out loud - the leaking is real. I’m convinced I’m going to ruin my mattress with waters so have taken to sleeping on a puppy pad. Husband has probably never fancied me more 😂

Rosebel · 16/06/2020 00:16

I have never had leaky boobs before giving birth, didn't get any milk at all with my first. I'm hoping to be able to breastfeed this time but not holding my breath.
Back in hospital again this week can't feel baby at all and they want to keep me in for 2 weeks rather than deliver early (despite the fact baby has an unsettled lie meaning if my waters break naturally his cord could come out first). Unfortunately when you have children at home one of whom is autistic and a husband who's only just returned to work I can't spend 2 weeks in hospital so will probably just discharge myself tomorrow

Goodgoodthings · 16/06/2020 08:34

@Rosebel I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital, must be such a stressful time for you especially having your children at home and being so close to meeting your baby. I hope you’ll be able to relax when you’re home

LassoOfTruth · 16/06/2020 18:01

@Rosebel poor you, that sounds very stressful! Fingers crossed for you that you can get out of there tomorrow and rest at home.

Millettmum · 16/06/2020 18:30

I had my last growth scan today (37+5) everything still good and they're still happy with my readings (for gestational diabetes) but have now said that I will be induced early when they said last time that they will let me go a few days over. I'm to talk to the consultant in a week and have a sweep this Saturday. Had two bouts of loose bowel movements today, maybe I'll just start myself before. A little annoyed with the conflicting information.

Congratulations Sunshine. I'm having my baby this afternoon by c section. Pretty nervous as they were going to wait until the morning but his movements have gone down a bit so it's going to be today. Feel absolutely terrified now. Think I'd be used to it after 2 sections
