Just found out I'm pregnant at 46. A real shock. Any older mums with similar news? I have a 13 year old son already. Due December if all goes well.Shock

Not me but my auntie had her second at 45 after the first at 30. She used to moan to my mum all the time about the loss of freedom and how she felt as though she’d been bringing up kids for 30 years (true!) once my nephew got to 15 as well.

Very pleased for you but think of the reality too.

This was me 5 years ago, unexpected pregnancy at 43. My DD was 9 at the time.
They are 14 and 5 now and im 48. I'm a single parent but knew I was going to be when I was about 7 months along.
Didn't have any extra scans just the 12 week and 20 week ones. Didn't take the amnio test either.
Did have extra bloods taken though. It was a healthy pregnancy and they even let me go extra 4 days past my due date. I've seen people saying on here before that when you are 40+ they induce early, although they didn't with me.

*@Catlaw73 please don't stand for your partner carrying on this ridiculous behaviour. You didn't get pregnant on your own..

I an good. 13 weeks tomorrow. I had a private scan and NIPT last Friday. Lovely wiggly baby in there. Huge relief after mmc. Each day I am still worried but hoping that will ease up. We get the test results back start of next week I think. Crossing fingers and toes!

I have my nhs scan tomorrow and the Nuchal test but think wait a fee weeks for results.

I am still pretty nauseous most of the time and last night had these really sore shooting pains from my groin area on the right. Was not an ache but like a bolt of electricity and a flash of pain. Enough to help out. It continued for about 15 mins then seemed to settle. Did worry me though.

I posted on here about is and someone said she calls them fanny daggers. 😂😂 Laughing helped!

Hope you are all well. Hope new babies are doing well too. Long way to go for me! Xxx

Sheera1 that’s great Smile proper lol at ‘fanny daggers’ Grin

Chatbash72 I remember you from other threads. I used to post a lot in the over 40’s ttc threads but I now l just lurk a lot! This thread has given me some hope Smile although I have to admit the chances for me are very slim. I have had a lot of chemicals at least 10 or 12 and 2 later m/c. I am blessed with two DC and have always yearned for number three and this thread has been a breath of fresh air and somewhat uplifting Smile

How is everyone doing? It's gone quiet.. I feel like if I write this down I'm going to jinx it... but I'm 7 weeks today... did a bit of gardening today and had what I thought was some spotting in my knickers ( sorry for tmi) but have been to the loo loads since and nothing when I wipe.. have a bitching bloaty tum.. and boobs like watermelons.. not slept much over the last few nights due to the bloating and gas.. have freaked out a little this afternoon.. have waves of nausea and drinking water ( which I never normally drink) like a fish and peeing loads too... I'm hoping that the bloat and boobs mean there is still loads of hormones in my system..
Nausea doesn't normally get me till later... had to check daughters preg diary as have had bad sickness with girls...
so nervous.. 🥺🥺🥺

Chatbash - whispering congratulations to you! I really shouldn’t even be on this thread but I follow and read all the posts as it gives me a glimmer of hope! I couldn’t read your post and not comment. I’ve seen you on the over 40’s ttc threads before. Lots of luck to you - all those lovely pregnancy symptoms sound great Grin Also you have given me another little bit of hope. Smile xx

MATTSMAMMA · 31/05/2020 08:28

Chatbash72 It’s always a worry when you see blood but I have read so many posts just recently where there’s been spotting or indeed very heavy bleeding and it has all been fine. Try not to worry (impossible I know!). You have good strong symptoms too. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Spotting was all quiet yesterday but this morning 🥺 ain't heavier.. rung drs, told to ring maternity, bounced around the switchboard but lovely lady said ring drs.. so have to wait till 2 before I can ring as all phone appointments are gone.. 🥺🥺 not hopeful that it's just some bleeding..

Chatbash Really hoping that everything is ok and I’m honestly not trying to give you false hope but hang in there. Some of the threads I have read recently have involved really heavy bleeds with clots etc and it’s still been fine so unless it’s confirmed otherwise stay strong and hopeful. Wishing the best possible outcome for you and keeping fingers crossed. Let us know how you get on. Good luck ! xx

Chatbash72 Gutted for you and I am so sorry. I unfortunately have been there too many times and know how truly shit it is. Be really kind to yourself - sounds a bit cliched but it’s so true. When you take vitamins if you can concentrate on reducing inflammation in your body too and if you can get your vitamin D levels checked. Omega oils are good for inflammation. Wishing you all the very best. I follow the over 40’s ttc threads a lot too so I hope I see your name again in happier times xx
