I'm bleeding

I'm devastated. 5+3 with a much longed for IVF pregnancy and tonight I have lots of period cramps and I've got bright red fresh blood when I wipe. EPU have told me to take paracetamol and come in next Saturday night if this is still going on. My IVF viability scan isn't until April 20th, what am I going to do until then 😢. This is so cruel, I've waited over 4 years to see those lines and I just know in my heart of hearts that this part of my journey is over.

Please tell me I'll be ok 💔

Hi , I had a really heavy bleed bright red which sent me to a and e in early pregnancy( with clots and period like cramping) docs had a scan but nothing could be seen they told me I had miscarried and to take a test a week later to be 100% sure but basically that was it... I'm now 31 weeks pregnant with twin boys! I have heard since that quite a few twin pregnancies have bleeding in early preg ? I also had a cervical polyp but was told that wouldn't have caused that really heavy bleed :/ I really wish the best for you and will be praying for a good outcome x

@WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish don't want to cast aspersions on your user name but can you translate your first sentence, I don't know what "psi bff I clamps" are to know if I have them 🙈 the rest of what you said is very helpful and is allowing me to understand my chances which is so helpful.

@Thumbellini already putting cyclogest there as on a previous transfer bled before OTD so was told by another wonderful poster that it absorbs better that way

I did have a double transfer so there is the chance of twins, if there's anything of course 🙏 thanks so much for the thoughts and advice everyone xxx

Grin I have no idea what pss bfi cramps are either but I probably meant to say something like severe! How are you this morning?

WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish · 06/04/2020 08:55

Severe cramps

AliSxo · 06/04/2020 09:06

Hi OP, hope you're ok, It differs for each person, I had this and I did miscarry but my friend had it and she's just had her baby boy it really is just different for each person, try and get a scan and rest up xxx

MrsC2018 · 06/04/2020 09:30

@WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish thanks. Cramping was on and off yesterday and stopped last night so far only red blood was on wiping on Saturday night so far too, yesterday was all brown blood on wiping.

I still feel like this isn't going to work but that's probably more due to how difficult our journey has been to even get to this point. I genuinely struggle to believe that I'll ever hold my baby, so it's easier to believe that there's nothing there 😢

I'll update with what happens going forward and thanks again to everyone taking time to post and listen to me xxx

Just wanted to say I bled loads of bright red blood for a week this pregnancy, I had a small bleed spot near the gestational sac which caused this. I was convinced I was having a miscarriage but the sonographer said it was completely normal and just to take it easy and rest loads. It went away a few weeks later.

Sending you lots of luck xx

WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish · 06/04/2020 09:55

I honestly wouldn’t think the worst just yet. Hope you get a scan soon x

FourDoughnutsForMe · 06/04/2020 10:14

I had a brown bleed at 8 weeks, really thought everything was over. Had a scan a few days later. Everything was fine.

I then had a hide red blood bleed at 10 weeks. Sorry if tmi...Went to the toilet because I thought I'd peed myself. Blood soaked through my pants and trousers. As I sad on the toilet it was like a slow tap coming out of me. I didn't see how a baby could possibly still be in there. Had a scan a few days later, everything was fine. They showed me where the bleed had come from.
Which was above the baby and outside of the sack.

My little womb gremlin is nearly 9 months old now.
I really hope it's good news for you x

Lina365 · 06/04/2020 12:15

@MrsC2018 We're in really similar situations! I'm 5+1 after about 20 months of trying (and a couple of failed IUIs), my first scan is on the 20th, and I have brown spotting when I wipe. This morning it was brighter red for a moment. I called my clinic to ask if I should be worried and they said relax and unless it's heavier than your period and you get cramps you're probably fine. I find it so hard to believe... My slight nausea is gone, and I have twinges in my pelvic area. I really hope we're both going to be ok x x x

jadey0891 · 06/04/2020 15:27

Hi op

I wouldn't think to much about it right now. See how you go. Try to rest.

If you can book a private scan then that would be great. Keep us updated at My lovely xx

MrsC2018 · 06/04/2020 15:38

❤️ thanks

Scan booked for Wednesday night as that's when I'm 6 weeks. I'm now dreading that scan as I can nearly believe that it might be ok now!

I'm like this with pregnancy testing too after a transfer, I never test early and leave it until the morning the clinic have told me they'll ring for the result! If was was an animal, I think it would be an ostrich!

I know it is horrendous to bleed and really nothing any of us can say will reassure you. However - I had huge red bleeds (with constant brown bleeding in between) from 6 weeks with this IVF pregnancy. I've seen our perfect oblivious baby on at least 10 scans since. Without tempting fate, I'm 12 weeks today and hopefully all will still be fine at our scan tomorrow. (Really hoping I havent tempted fate now!).

I know it is easy to look at red blood and fear the worst, especially after IVF when you've already had months if not years of bad and stressful news. But it really doesn't always mean the end of everything. Clearly SOMETIMES it does, but not always. Try to keep the faith. Private clinics are still scanning so they may be able to help you x

MrsC2018 · 07/04/2020 19:53

@MrsB2019x here ❤️

Thanks to all of you lovely ladies, I'm more sane and have managed to book a scan tomorrow as I'm 6 weeks. Praying desperately that there's something to see, but it's hard to believe at the moment xxx

Hope the scan goes well and fingers crossed you'll see a little baby or two. October2020 My IVF pregnancy was exactly like that and last bleed was around 12/13 weeks and a massive red bleed, whole of my PJ bottoms were soaked in red blood. She's 14 now. I was a nervous wreck but she was fine - well born 3 weeks early so a week in NICU but no issues except jaundice which cleared in the week. Perfectly healthy since.

Laurapb88 · 07/04/2020 20:02

I had a huge bleed at 7 weeks after Ivf and it was so heavy it came through my jeans, I'm now 37+5 and getting ready for a section next week because he is a monkey and breech please dont give up hope yet as hard as it is keeping everything crossed for you x

Troubledmummy3 · 08/04/2020 13:41

Just wishing you luck for your scan later. Really hope everything is ok xx

Windyatthebeach · 08/04/2020 13:43

Moussemum · 08/04/2020 13:56

I hope you get good news today.I had quite a lot of brown staining when I was in early pregnancy and panicked and had early scan and It lasted up to 12 weeks. They said it could be due to a lot of factors, erosion of cervix etc🤷‍♀️.fingers crossed for you.Im 37 weeks now, waiting on labour starting.

MrsC2018 · 08/04/2020 13:57

❤️ scan isn't until 20:30 unfortunately so still waiting but thanks millions xxxx
