Hi ladies 😊
Thought I'd make us a grad forum to carry on the support we all gave each other on the TMI board. How are you all doing?

Little bit from me -

Currently 33+5 with a little baby boy due 22nd April. I started up annual leave as of today and officially start mat leave on 25th March. I've found this pregnancy lovely but have felt in a very surreal bubble/mindset for the most part and I'm hoping that will lift soon and that I'll feel a bit more grounded. The past 8 months have flown by. A couple of trips to the midwife from first time uncertainty but so far so good, no complications. I have my birthing plan booked in with my consultant on 25th March 36 weeks - I do feel like baby is dropping/dropped as lots of pressure and pains down below.

That's it from me, I'd love to hear from you & carry the support on 😘💛

Hey - thank you for setting this up! I am 16+3 now, still feel very anxious about the 20 week scan. It seems forever away, I had a scan last Friday but the baby was in the wrong position so couldn't do all the measurements so going back at 18weeks.

Do you have much planned for your hols/nat leave before bub arrives? When is your due date? x

Twiglet2353 · 10/03/2020 08:42

Just hopping on as this appeared on my timeline and lovely to see some of you graduates.

Enjoy your pregnancies - and in your case @hopingforbabyd your mat leave!

My little boy is 15 weeks old now and we're coming upto the anniversary of embryo transfer soon. We're just about to head out for a class - here he is snug as a bug in his car seat blanket 😍.

Hugs to you all x

@WorriedButterfly wow that has gone very fast! I know it might not feel like it but it has gone so quickly! You'll be starting to feel baby soon if you haven't already? I always remember when I first felt bubs, I was at the pub (Pepsi in hand 😄) listening to a friends boy drama and all of a sudden there was this twitching on my left side. I started laughing and my friend was not impressed 😂 would love to hear all your "firsts" it's so nice to reflect back on and remind yourself you've come so far even when you feel like you haven't.
Cheeky bubs not showing much! Are you finding out what you're having? We went to a 4D scan at 17 weeks and I keep a picture of my little babe in my purse 🥰
I've made a list! Tbh saying bye to everyone was really surreal and I've had a couple of days feeling a bit lost as I don't know what to do now. I've had lots of aches and pains and feels like baby is going to "fall out" but I think once you hit mat leave it's like shit...the baby is due soon and the mind is very powerful indeed. So the list I've made is one to last the week - I'm currently sat in the nursery with a brew taking it aaaaall in. But some jobs for today is a little spring clean here and there (my back causes me such grief)
Are you doing a pregnancy yoga? If not I would highly recommend it it's so nice to meet other ladies and grow your bump with them and most yoga places do a baby yoga when baby is about 6 weeks xx

@Twiglet2353 Ahhhhh! Gal! How the devil are you doing? What a little cutie he is and he looks oh so snug! What sort of class are you going to? Madness to think the embie anniversary is just around the corner! I remember it well and I find it really bizarre that my bob is due around when I started my first cycle. @WorriedButterfly I'm due 22nd April 🙊 my 30th birthday is 15th April and our first cycle was 18th....it'd be so special if he was born that day - but either way he will come when he's ready 😊
@Twiglet2353 what was your delivery plan again? Did bub come on time?
So lovely to hear from you xx

@hopingforbabyd we're doing well thanks! Ups and downs but love seeing him learn new things!
The class we went to on Monday is a music and sensory class which choose a different country for inspiration every week. Now he's aware of things I can tell he's starting to enjoy it!
I'll keep popping by to see how you're all doing!x

Hopingforbabyd · 12/03/2020 12:21

@Twiglet2353 that's so lovely, I love the sensory classes. Yes please do keep in touch 😊 I'm 34 weeks and was just wondering if you can remember your Braxton hicks? I have had them all night and been having them this morning. I know they're Braxton due to the frequency but just wondering when I should be concerned? They feel like period pains which last a few minutes and then start up again about an hour later xx

Lovely to hear from you@Twiglet2353 & a gorgeous picture! Glad it's going well.

@Hopingforbabyd - well done for making the list! Love a good list! It looks like the weather has changed which feels a bit more spring like! I imagine it feels a bit strange/surreal.

I am planning to start yoga after 20 weeks, we had some close friends that didn't get past 20 wks unfortunately so it is definitely heightened in my mind. I had my 17 wk appt earlier and heard the 💓 again Grin

LillyLeaf · 13/03/2020 12:33

Mind if I join? I'm 20+5 and had my scan this week, everything looked good. I also had a consultant appointment and she said inductions are recommended for Ivf pregnancies at 39-40 wks. I was a bit taken a back so didn't really ask any questions. It's done to reduce the risk of stillbirth as the placenta can be less effective after 40wks. Has anyone else been told this?

WorriedButterfly · 13/03/2020 13:06

Hi @LillyLeaf welcome!

I have heard that from my acupuncturist I used through IVF, she said they rarely Kraft anyone til full term. Also my midwife said they would give me an extra scan (due to ivf) and take it from there, but again unlikely they'd leave me. Glad your scan went well. Thanks

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2020 13:17

@WorriedButterfly that's totally understandable, aw how lovely that you got to hear the 💓 again! Are you finding out what you're having? X

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2020 13:20

@lillyleaf welcome 🥰 how are you finding your pregnancy? Yes I too am going to be speaking with my consultant about this at 36 weeks which is less than 2 weeks away. It's all getting a bit real now! But my consultant did mention the same thing where he may want to induce me at 38/39 weeks to ensure DD is met x

@mummyspider27 what a beautiful embie 😍 congratulations! How are you finding your pregnancy? X

Mummyspider27 · 13/03/2020 15:51

Good thanks! 5 years since I had my daughter, definitely achier this time round (guess I’m older though!) can’t complain though, just so excited. Extra monitoring due to IVF, previous EMCS, low lying placenta and daughters low birth weight so lots of appointments and scans! But just so happy to be here xx

Hopingforbabyd · 13/03/2020 16:29

@mummyspider27 so glad they're keeping a close eye on you. Just thinking about @lillyleaf are you too needing to be induced? I've been told ivf classed as high risk but touch wood, for me everything has been okay and I've had no additional appointments the only one that's different is my 36 week will be with the consultant who will come up with the birth plan. I'm getting quite nervous/excited now but the idea of being induced I'm like 😩 I just want my body to be left alone! But...I will of course do whatever they suggest is best for my little man x

OP posts:
LillyLeaf · 14/03/2020 09:14

@Hopingforbabyd this pregnancy has mostly be fine physically but been filled with anxiety (I've had 2 previous IVF losses), just so pleased to be past 20 weeks, I'm hoping I can start enjoying it now. In regard to the induction I think I just thought that if everything was going ok in this pregnancy I would be treated as anyone else. I just felt a bit crappy that because of the IVF I'm treated differently. I think I just need to do some research but there are a lot of negativity out there about inductions.

@Mummyspider27 what a great photo. This pregnancy was my 3rd transfer.

Hopingforbabyd · 14/03/2020 09:58

Oh @LillyLeaf I'm so sorry to hear of your previous losses, I guess because of history and also ivf maybe that's why they would like to do an induction? I've told myself that because baby is such precious cargo they just want to make sure he arrives on time and under control. I know what you mean tho about feeling you're being treated differently but if you think about it..."normal" people tend to go overdue and need inducing anyway along with intervention and I haven't known of many ladies have their pregnancy/birthing plan as they imagine. So what I'm trying to say is...that makes us pretty normal in my mind 😌😘 are you going to go to the antenatal classes? I've just finished all of mine and it really did help so much with anxiety and has left me feeling confident and ready for little one (even tho I'm crapping my pants a bit lol) x

OP posts:
Hopingforbabyd · 14/03/2020 10:01

Ps @LillyLeaf if it helps, my pregnancy has been treated as "normal" however because of ivf they like to make sure baby is delivered on time due to knowing transfer date and the consultant mentioned it was also because he'd looked after me during infertility (I have severe endometriosis and had to have both tubes removed before ivf) so this makes me high risk even tho baby is okay x

OP posts:
WorriedButterfly · 14/03/2020 11:56

Hey @Hopingforbabyd did you do antenatal at the hospital or nct? X

Hopingforbabyd · 14/03/2020 12:21

@WorriedButterfly mine were held at my local children's centre with the community midwives. I really enjoyed them 😊 x

I hope you don’t mind me joining in. I followed the tmi thread during my ivf cycle last year and it’s great to hear how well everything is progressing.

@LillyLeaf lovely to hear things are going well for you. I recognised you from our Oct thread. When I was discharged from the clinic I was told I’d be classed as high risk just because it’s an ivf pregnancy. I don’t think I’ve been treated any differently so far though.

I’m 25+2 today and it still feels completely surreal. I’m not sure I’ll totally believe it until I have him in my arms. I’ve also really struggled with anxiety throughout. I keep thinking it’ll go after each milestone - 12 week scan, 20 weeks scan, feeling him move etc. It is easier but I’ve realised it’ll never go away.

Maggie272 · 15/03/2020 10:25

Hi mamas, do you mind if I join in?! I remember some of you from the TMI board too. I am 16+4 today and have a scan tomorrow. I can't believe I made it this far. I had a horrible time with IVF meds, and was in hospital a lot. My doc decided to take me off everything at 10+6 and I've never felt better. Have been scanned every week since week 6 and all looks great. It's hard to believe.. @Twiglet2353 congratulations, so beautiful xx

Hopingforbabyd · 19/03/2020 19:32

@Betsyboo87 welcome to the thread! Apologies in the delay of replying. I feel like this week has been a whirl! Hope you're doing well?
So lovely to hear how far along you are, I was 35 weeks yesterday and I think it's maybe...just a little bit sinking in now 😄 it's still very surreal and I completely agree, the anxiety doesn't leave you does it 😔
I have huge anxiety today, I have a water infection and have been prescribed antibiotics but I darent take them. I know I need to and I have started the course but I'm absolutely bobbin myself that it'll hurt the baby even though every professional going has agreed he will be fine. I haven't even dared take a paracetamol. Sounds dramatic but I just want him to be okay x

Hopingforbabyd · 19/03/2020 19:34

@Maggie272 hey lovely! So sorry for the delay in replying. You can absolutely join! 😁 welcome! How did your scan go? I was 35 weeks yesterday and it has absolutely flown by. I see my consultant next Thursday who will come up with our birthing plan. I'm so excited to meet my baby boy now 🥰 do you know what you're having? X
