Hi ladies 😊
Thought I'd make us a grad forum to carry on the support we all gave each other on the TMI board. How are you all doing?

Little bit from me -

Currently 33+5 with a little baby boy due 22nd April. I started up annual leave as of today and officially start mat leave on 25th March. I've found this pregnancy lovely but have felt in a very surreal bubble/mindset for the most part and I'm hoping that will lift soon and that I'll feel a bit more grounded. The past 8 months have flown by. A couple of trips to the midwife from first time uncertainty but so far so good, no complications. I have my birthing plan booked in with my consultant on 25th March 36 weeks - I do feel like baby is dropping/dropped as lots of pressure and pains down below.

That's it from me, I'd love to hear from you & carry the support on 😘💛

I missed these messages! Nice to hear things are going well @Maggie272, will you find out the gender at your 20wk. Mine is first week of April (all being well!). Welcome @Betsyboo87, hope you've had a good week. I think it's probably been a tough one for everyone!

@Hopingforbabyd I can't believe you're 35wks! It's gone so quickly! I wouldn't worry about the antibiotics- water infections are so common so many people must take them (and you could get poorly kidneys without them). X

Betsyboo87 · 19/03/2020 21:54

Thanks for the welcome. What a crazy week! DH and I are both WFH at the moment. We’ve actually found a nice routine together so it’s been ok so far. We’ve made our first baby order today too. The plan was to wait until 28 weeks but we’re in mainland Europe and I really wanted a few bits from John Lewis so I’ve ordered whilst they’re still delivering.

@Maggie272 I’m so happy that you’re feeling so good! Your post at 10 weeks really stuck with me. I had a horrible time on meds too.

@Hopingforbabyd the antibiotics will be fine. Infections are so common in pregnancy. I remember getting one in the early ttc days and thinking it was a sign!

@WorriedButterfly not long until your scan. Do you plan on finding out the sex?

Maggie272 · 19/03/2020 22:13

@Hopingforbabyd thank you! I think antibiotics are totally fine, I had to take them very early on for a tooth infection! I was only 5 weeks or so. @WorriedButterly it's so nice to see you! I think we might wait to find out I am just enjoying being back to myself and often not thinking about the pregnancy actually. Mostly it feels so nice to feel the baby move and to know everything worked out, and after that we are taking it one day at time. I do get the urge though at every scan to ask!
@Betsyboo87 thank you hon, that was so embarrassing, that time on the meds. I used to think horrible things. For ages I thought the vitamin company were putting fake folic acid in my vitamins, that the police were going to arrest me, that my computer was being hacked...I spent about a week in hospital at 11weeks to be monitored as they took me off the medication. Luckily bubs was ok. Very quickly I started to recover too. I'm lucky that the consultant I was referred to had worked in fertility and knew that some women suffer with psychosis on the meds, which is what happened to me. I'm so glad IVF worked, but I will never do it again. We are so lucky (even with the pandemic!) that things are going so well, and bubs is measuring big and has a strong heartbeat. I am happy too and no one is worried about me anymore : )

Happy Mother’s Day to you too! Such a strange one this year with everything that’s going on but so so grateful to be pregnant.

Hope everyone is keeping well. I’ve spent most of the weekend looking at baby things online. It’s the first time I’ve really allowed myself to do it. I’m really keen to give reusable nappies a go so I’ve spent ages looking at options and ordered a trial pack. I can’t wait to get them!

WorriedButterfly · 23/03/2020 08:23

That sounds exciting @Betsyboo87, I'll be interested to know how you get on with them.

I hope you all had a nice day yesterday. X

Hopingforbabyd · 23/03/2020 08:42

@Betsyboo87 it's a very strange time indeed! Oo this sounds interesting! One of my friends used them with her little boys and absolutely raved about them. Be interesting to know what they're like...keep us posted!

Are you ladies doing anything nice today? X

Betsyboo87 · 23/03/2020 19:41

There are so many different types and they’re not cheap so I’m glad I’ve done some research. I’ll let you know how I get on when the little one is here!

I’m working from home at the moment. It’s much less stressful than going to the office so I’m currently enjoying it. DH is here too and we’ve been taking in turns to make a nice lunch and sitting together to eat it. I’m sure the novelty will wear off but I’ll take it for now

Hopingforbabyd · 24/03/2020 06:39

@Betsyboo87 that sounds lovely and especially now it will allow you to really spend that quality time together.
When I was leaving work for maternity leave, a lady bought me a card and it really did choke me up - the card was addressed to me and hubby as baby will get lots of things. And in the card she wrote in there how not to forget "us - me & hubby" she got us a little voucher so we can use it to go out for tea when baby's here and I really appreciated it. Because throughout my pregnancy I have been gushing about baby, we both have - it's all we talk about, so I can really understand what she was trying to say.
I guess what I'm trying to say is...in a really weird, warped ass world way...this set up for you both is perfect timing and I hope you both share some lovely times together in our little world of isolation 💕 x

@Viletta welcome to the thread 🥰 hope you're keeping well in all this madness? Xx

Betsyboo87 · 24/03/2020 18:19

@Hopingforbabyd you’re so right that this is perfect timing for us. DH usually works long hours so we get very little time together in the week. We’ll definitely make sure we make the most of it. How are you doing? Are you all ready for the baby?

Hopingforbabyd · 24/03/2020 20:41

@Betsyboo87 so lovely to hear you've got your quality time together. My OH is coming home tomorrow and I must admit, I cope so much better with him here - even if he's sat in another room I just love his presence. I'm so ready for baby now, he's getting very big and it is quite uncomfortable to lay down but I have loved getting to know him in my tummy x

How are you ladies doing at this somewhat scary time?

@Hopingforbabyd - been thinking of you with all the changes, not long to go! Has your hospital brought in new measures?

Hope you're all staying safe x

Hopingforbabyd · 28/03/2020 11:50

Hey ladies 😊 just checking in to see how you all our during this crazy time? I was supposed to have my consultation appointment on Thursday but they cancelled it as with ivf we're classed as too high a risk.
I'm all booked in for induction a week before my due date - 16th April! 😳 my 30th birthday is the day before and I couldn't ask for a better birthday gift x

OP posts:
Betsyboo87 · 28/03/2020 16:07

Eek @Hopingforbabyd you have a date! So exciting and so close. What an amazing birthday present.

I’m finally in my third trimester now 🥳. It seemed so far away when I got my bfp and now it’s here.

Hopingforbabyd · 30/03/2020 21:12

@Betsyboo87 very exciting indeed! I'm very nervous given the new labour ruling with the virus I must admit.
Yay congrats on third trimester you enjoy it gal 😍 x

Sorry for jumping on your thread ladies but I just love reading IVF success stories! After investigations DH and I were told I wouldn't be able to have children as I had unexplained infertility so we had IVF and our DD turns 1 at the end of next month - quickest year of my life!

Your MW and consultants may tell you that once you've had IVF it 'kick starts' your body and you could fall pregnant, well believe them because I didn't and I found out that I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant! Completely natural, so it does happen Smile

Wishing you all all the best for your upcoming births - I know it's hard with the COVID guidance but stay strong and enjoy every single second with your little bundles of joy x

WorriedButterfly · 06/04/2020 12:53

Hey @Hopingforbabyd - I've been thinking of you! Not long to go!!! I hope you are hanging in there and staying positive. So excited for you.

@Betsyboo87 how is the 3rd Trimester going? Are you managing to stay active with lock down etc?

I had my 20 weeks scan this morning- everything was perfect.🥰 @Maggie272 yours must be coming up soon too? I was soooo nervous beforehand. The hospital was lovely and quiet and the hygiene was top notch. It has made me more relaxed about the birthing situation- I think we'll be so detached from the rest of the ongoing hospital shenanigans. I think in my head I was visualising giving birth in amongst covid patients! (My mind runs away with me sometimes! 😂)

Can I ask you ladies when you had your whooping cough jab? My midwife has said I should have a flu jab at the same time, but my GP has said they have got any flu jabs and I shouldn't have whooping until 28wks. X

Hopingforbabyd · 06/04/2020 14:42

@WorriedButterfly aw thank you! I must admit I was a little overwhelmed the other day I went to my midwife appointment and she was suited and booted - the hygiene I agree is top notch it just made me quite emotional as I guess his birth is literally 10 days away 😳😍 all felt a bit real and surreal. I feel much better now. Have a scan this afternoon as not sure if he's breech 🤔 but I will update!
So happy to hear 20 week scan went okay. It's amazing isn't it the depth they go into! Did you find out the sex of your baby?
I had my flu jab I think around 11 weeks as it was falling to that time of year October/November. I had my whooping cough at 20 week scan I think it was as I remember hubby being with me at the hospital. I rang my gp and they were the same with their suggested 28 weeks however I spoke to my ivf clinic and they advised to go with my midwifes advise - I would double check with your clinic if you can get hold of them as maybe they're just being over cautious due to baby being ivf? X

Betsyboo87 · 07/04/2020 17:01

@WorriedButterfly that’s great news that your scan went so well. It’s crazy how much they grow from the 12 week one. I had my whooping cough vaccine at 25 weeks. The Dr said she usually does it a bit later but I had a holiday booked (cancelled due to cv) and then she had a holiday so we just did it then. I’m not in the UK though. I did then worry it was early and checked on the nhs website and it said between 16-32 weeks so you’ll be fine whenever.

@Hopingforbabyd so close! I hope you’re able to make the most of these last days before the baby.

Hopingforbabyd · 07/04/2020 18:50

@Betsyboo87 thank you lovely! I'm needing to go back to hospital on Thursday as had position scan yesterday and baby is breech 🙈 I felt so upset and disheartened but now I have got my head around things I know c section is safest for him in this scenario. He is clearly very snuggly up in there. Thursday they will book me in for c section next week. Can't believe we will know when he will be here 😍 I think just given the circumstances at the moment the idea of a section petrified me I wanted to stay home as long as possible and be out as quick as possible. But I know keeping baby safest is the most important thing. How are you getting along? X

OP posts:
Betsyboo87 · 10/04/2020 16:11

@Hopingforbabyd how did your appointment go?

Hopingforbabyd · 10/04/2020 17:41

@Betsyboo87 it went okay thank you, I decided to go for the c section as turning baby makes me feel so uncomfortable and he is happy where he is so I thought that was best 😊 all booked in for 16th April! Day after my birthday 🥰
Dad only gets an hour with him after birth but I just can't wait to see his little face now.
How are you getting on? Xx

@Twiglet2353 can you believe it's nearly finally here?! Hope you're well lovely xx
