Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

Ahh @LokiCat look at that bump 🥰 hopefully your work goes smoothly until you're ready for your mat leave, I'm sure it'll fly by x

@purplefig it's definitely reassuring!! My next one is at 28 weeks with my anti D jab and GTT so hopefully it flies by until then 😊 I'm not at home atm but when I get back I'll send you a picture of it, it's a liquid lipstick but I prefer it to Estée Lauder and even the kylie Jenner ones!! It's fantastic! X

Thanks @MrsEG oh bless them, I'm glad they're having fun 😊 next one is at 28 weeks in Jan xx

MrsEG · 19/11/2019 18:54

@purplefig Make them, you won’t regret it!! There are so many variables when it comes to twin positions - my consultant would like them to be in favourable positions at my 32 week growth scan, but if you look at the twins page on Spinning Babies there are stories of twins turning last minute. There are just so so so many ‘what ifs’ with twins, though! My PGP works against me too as my pelvis isn’t aligned properly with my uterus which can cause them to move position a lot. So honestly, who even knows! Yeah, we’ve gone for seats with handles - I know I’ll need to carry them about/in and out of the house, at my parents house too etc. We’ll have arms of steel!!

@cupcakesandglitter I’m interested in this lippy too! Struggle so much with them, have only found one Charlotte Tilbury one that stays on! Ahh Jan will come around so quickly with Christmas being in the middle!

purplefig · 19/11/2019 19:01

@cupcakesandglitter not long until the next scan then! Ooo fabulous, thanks for sharing. I have the Kat Von D liquid lipstick and it's pretty good, stays fairly well put (though it is drying - but yet to find a liquid one that isn't). Also fairly exxy!

@MrsEG oh man...do you ever feel like pregnancy (and ttc...and no doubt birth and parenting!) is one long lesson is learning to go with the flow / give up trying to control things? Because that's been the main theme I've noticed so far!

Have had to forgo yoga as I'm all of a sudden rather, erm, itchy down below . Not a good look in class 😳. Glad this conveniently started after my midwife appointment! 🙄

MrsR16 · 19/11/2019 20:37

@cupcakesandglitter oh I'm so pleased your scan went ok!!

@Tropicana1 gorgeous bump! I can't believe you're working till the week before. I'm really struggling now and I have 4 to go! I thought I'd be ok, but it's got to the point now that I can't get up off the sofa without either help from DH or literally rolling off of it!

@MrsEG I wish! After the meal, then I will waddle away to the car and forget everything about work 😂 until they call me the next week hehe!

@purplefig oh no! Sorry to read you had to miss yoga! Hope the itching stops soon... 😕

cupcakesandglitter · 19/11/2019 21:14

@MrsEG definitely!! I'm now starting to feel sooooo excited for Christmas I just want to get my tree up!!

@MrsEG @purplefig I've attached the pic of it below - it looks browny because I took it next to an orange lamp 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ but it's definitely the one I wore. And i don't think it's drying either! And no where near as expensive as kat Von d 😂 long lasting and really cheap too!

@purplefig oh god 😂 I've read that being a symptom because of the blood flow!! I can't say I've had it BUT I'm definitely a bit more erm swollen down there 😂😳

Thank you @MrsR16 sorry to hear it's a bit difficult now, glad your DH is there to help - very very soon you'll have your baby in your arms rather than your stomach 😂

LokiCat · 19/11/2019 21:49

Hi ladies, hope you had a Tuesday! DH bought home a take away Wagamama's and the coziest new blanket from TKmaxx - it's been a very nice evening 😊

@MrsEG you are right, I've been trying to stay positive that if the midwife isn't concerned then it is a good thing and all should be okay!
How lovely that your work has thought ahead to reserve you a parking space without you having to ask, sounds like you work in a great place.
Those brownies look amazing! I've saved that link as well for a craving day!

@purplefig yeah, I think we that's the main question most people are asking me now I'm really eager to start feeling the movements!
We will be finding out the sex (I'm too impatient to wait the full 9 months 🙈), so I'm very excited about that as well!
Glad your midwife appointment went well and that baby is head down! We've gone for a maxi-cosi car seat as well (the CabrioFix one) as it comes with our pushchair bundle. I was debating getting one anyway as I'd read really good reviews about it and have heard it's pretty popular. I probably would have picked the Pebble Plus if I had a choice, as it meets I-size regulations, but pretty happy with ours because of the pros you've mentioned. Just need to get an isofix base for it!
Eek, sorry to hear about the itching..

@BostonFern thanks sweet. I'm trying to keep my mind off it and not worry too much.
How exciting that you will be meeting your little boy soon!! Lots of best wishes for you for this week :)

@Lemonysherbet thanks lovely ❤️
So happy for you that your scan went well!

@MrsR16 thank you! DH has been amazing and is definitely helping me to feel better about things. Relaxing as much as I can :)

@cupcakesandglitter so happy your scan went well as well and that the consultant is happy for you to continue with a vaginal birth!
Thank you! Trying not to worry myself too much, but I will look into a private scan if it gets a bit much for me.
Oooh, I love the colour of the lipstick. I previously tried a Primark liquid lipstick (the ones that were Kylie lip kit dupes), but they were a bit drying. I will give this one a go, especially if they're cheaper than Kat Von D/Anastasia Beverly Hills (I love theirs!!).

@Tropicana1 glad your cat has started to eat more. Also, your bump looks gorgeous!
I'm glad that work hasn't been bad for you and that you're able to work almost to the end (go you!!).

ELW85 · 20/11/2019 08:10

Morning all

Sorry I’m so far behind; I’ll do my best to catch up but I doubt I’ll be successful!

Thank you all for the lovely compliments about bump and bedding, and it’s lovely to see all of the other bump photos on here too 😊 all absolutely gorgeous!!

Baby had a quiet day the other day (read: enter panic mode) but is back to wriggling away so I’m feeling better about it.

I’m currently on a train to Glasgow to visit my team up there, so I need to deliver a departmental state of the nation and then do 2 HR meetings before a regulatory prep session. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be knackered tonight!

@LokiCat - it’s so hard not to worry, but if your midwife is quite comfortable with it, that’s a great sign.
I had something similar (but without the sex) a while ago and my MW said that all women have a cervical abruption (?) which causes us to spot/bleed when it gets disturbed, so it’s pretty common. I know I’d be frantic too though, but we are all here for you, and I’m sure everything is fine 😊
Movement wise, I started feeling them around 18.5 weeks but honestly nothing consistent until closer to the 20w.

@purplefig - so pleased your appointment went well! Pregnancy brings so many weird and wonderful side effects doesn’t it? I hope you can get back to yoga soon 😂
My copy of The Book You Wish Your Parents Read arrived today. Thanks again for the tip!

@cupcakesandglitter - so pleased your scan went well! They grow at such different paces but it’s nice that they’re giving you growth scans too 😊

@MrsEG - those brownies look fantastic!! I ignored the Christmas tree brownie in Starbucks this morning so I’m feeling good about my willpower at the moment 😂

@BostonFern - good luck for this week, I hope you’re feeling a little better and you get to meet your little one soon!

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!

BostonFern · 20/11/2019 08:28

@Lemonysherbet glad your scan went well

Thank you @MrsEG @MrsR16 @cupcakesandglitter @purplefig @LokiCat @ELW85

@cupcakesandglitter really pleased your scan went well too.

@Tropicana1 lovely bump-not long left for you now!

@ELW85 these babies do seem to like to cause worry with their random quieter days! Glad all is ok though.

ELW85 · 20/11/2019 08:49

Thank you @BostonFern - definitely just preparation for a lifetime of worry 😂
How are you feeling?

purplefig · 20/11/2019 09:02

@MrsR16 cheers...it's subsided somewhat now. So irritating! I'm with you on the rolling thing, my physio exercises are to be done on the floor and it is...a journey when I have to get up 🤣

@cupcakesandglitter thanks so much - I'll pick one up next time I'm near a primark 👌🏼 interesting about the connection to blood flow...I hadn't thought of that but it would make sense. Ahhh the glamour!

@LokiCat a takeaway Wagamamas and new tkmaxx throw honestly sounds like heaven, so envious!!! What did you get to eat?! I don't blame you at all - we had plans to find out but turns out the baby had other plans and kept their legs crossed haha! Glad to hear you've heard good things about maxi cosi too, just hope it'll all fit our car.

@ELW85 oh my goodness that sounds like a full on day! I'm sure you'll do amazingly. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did, some great ideas in there. I think the biggest realisation to me was the fact that the baby has no concept of anything at all, and we only have a vague idea of parenthood...so it's a learning process!

Does anyone else get most/biggest movements at night? Mine kicks away throughout the day, but when I go to bed and it's totally dark they seem to have a rave! x

ELW85 · 20/11/2019 09:38

@purplefig - thank you for your lovely words of encouragement!
I’m on train number two and running on optimism, haha!
Oh I’m really looking forward to reading that book now, and the point you took away is an excellent one. Bit daunting, but wonderful and actually encouraging!

The biggest movements I feel are usually at night too. I’m not sure if I’m waking up regularly because I’m restless and then feeling him kick, or because he’s kicking me. Although today, he’s been quite active on the train and kicking much higher up.
I keep saying ‘kicking’ but I’m sure there’s a whole host of movements in there!

MrsH497 · 20/11/2019 13:15

Hi ladies. So I'm still trying to correct my sick record for when I was off after my MC. My old line manager has said I need to prove I was pregnant! I bloody told her when I found out. I'm livid and so upset how insensitive can they get. I was 6.5 weeks so I have my sick note form the gp saying recovery from MC and there's limited paperwork from when I was seen by hospital in Florida. I'm just at a total loss

BostonFern · 20/11/2019 13:16

@ELW85 nervous! 😬

@purplefig this little one follows a similar movement pattern to yours, he loves to party at night!

purplefig · 20/11/2019 13:29

@MrsH497 Jesus, that is incredibly cruel of them. So sorry they're putting you through this. It sounds like that doctors note should satisfy them at least. Big hugs.

@BostonFern it's funny isn't it?Also...don't they say they follow a similar pattern as newborns?! 😳

@ELW85 will you stay up there tonight? Such a long day for you! I'd definitely be planning a treaty hotel evening if so 🤣 crack out the sheet masks and room service...! I don't find the movements keep me up, but just as I turn the light off they go wild for awhile. I was mainly feeling kicks, as they've got bigger I think I'm feeling more rolls now. So freaking cool! I definitely remember reading the book and finishing it feeling even more excited for everything.

MrsR16 · 20/11/2019 13:38

@cupcakesandglitter it's definitely getting harder! But as you say, it won't be long as baby will be here! 😊

@LokiCat good, I'm glad your DH is being helpful 😊 they're super amazing sometimes!

@ELW85 they are little humbugs when they give us scares like that aren't they?!? Glad everything's ok 😊

@purplefig oh goodness, I can't imagine what getting up off the floor is like! 😂 bad enough me having to bend over to grab something I've dropped...

@MrsH497 that is absolutely awful... sick note should be more than enough!

So ladies, 36 weeks today! Overslept this morning, so am glad I'm finishing work this Friday 😂 bump picture is attached (just to join in!)

Tropicana1 · 20/11/2019 14:11

@MrsEG yea working right through to 39 weeks, mainly because of statutory mat pay so can't really make it financially viable any other way but wont be doing on call once we're in December so that will be nice!

@purplefig definitely with you on the evening movements! Come bed time she's constantly kicking me in the ribs!

Hadn't felt any of my normal movements since yesterday evening apart from a few small nudges so just went in to be checked - all is fine and now I'm sat here with her kicking away like a footballer feeling like such a fraud 🙈

Tropicana1 · 20/11/2019 14:13

Sorry @MrsR16 missed your post! Lovely bump pick 😍

MrsEG · 20/11/2019 15:21

@purplefig My yoga teacher tells us every week that being prepared means being prepared for anything! Even the most straightforward of pregancy can still have a dramatic birth, and vice-versa. I just try not to let any of it bother me anymore - I’d love for them to turn and head down, but if they don’t, they don’t! They’re doing what they know to do and my body will figure it all out :) Oh no - it’s worth the GP checking for thrush you know, very common in us preggos!
Movements mine tend to go nuts first thing (I often wake up to them rattling about), after dinner at night and then in bed. Those at the moment seem to be most common! Twin 2 being, far and away, the most active too - at least twice as wriggly as his brother. Shows just how different babies can be!

@cupcakesandglitter I love Christmas too, we don’t have a tree though :( The dog just attacks it so it isn’t worth the effort!! I hope that by the time the twins are old enough to be begging for one the dog will be much older and a bit more chilled out haha! Ooh will look out for that lippy!

@LokiCat Glad to hear you’re feeling better! Pregnancy is just one worry after the next sometimes isn’t it!!

@ELW85 Mine have days like that still now, at 26+3 - I’ll have the odd day where all seems quiet. I can usually wake them up with food/water but my consultant said they’re probably just turned to face the other way! I cannot resist coffee shop treats - had some banana loaf from Costa this week which was to die for!

@MrsH497 That’s awful and I’m almost sure illegal. A sick note is just that; you shouldn’t have to explain yourself or provide proof. Would they ask the same for depression/anxiety?! Something you couldn’t possibly ‘prove’. I think they’re being very cruel - do you have anyone you could escalate it too?

@MrsR16 Absolute smasher of a bump!! Haha sleeping in is your body’s way of telling you it’s more than ready for that mat leave haha! Enjoy your last few days :)

@Tropicana1 Ha oh never feel like a fraud! My consultant told me that after 28 weeks, if something feels ‘different’ go right in and no one will ever judge you for it! It only takes a few mins for everyone to be reassured they’ve just had a long nap haha!

Hope everyone is going fab today! I had such a shitty nights sleep (broken record much); WFH so had a bath on my lunch break! Counting down the seconds to 5pm, I’m just exhausted. I have yoga tonight and still trying to decide if it’s worth getting dressed for!

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 20/11/2019 15:29

@MrsEG I'm going to speak to the superintendent if they don't accept the sick note. This is only because I was making sure this lot of sickness and the Mc was correctly shown as pregnancy related so it wouldn't negatively affect my record. Thank you for all your support it means a lot as always 🥰

Oh and a shameless second bumpie as I'm now obsessed with it!

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
ELW85 · 20/11/2019 15:34

Afternoon all

Decided to jump on an earlier train so I get home before 7pm!

@purplefig - not an overnighter on this occasion, but pretty happy to be headed home. There’s a lot to be said for the comfort of a Deliveroo in a hotel room when you’re away with work though!
Ah I’m very excited for the movements to keep evolving. Coming up to week 23 and am noticing the changes more and more each day in everything from bump to movements, and it’s amazing!!

@MrsEG - ooh that banana loaf sounds amazing. I want to try the black and white wreath cake they have in! Give yourself a break from yoga today, you might not enjoy it as much and I don’t know how I’d motivate myself after a lunchtime bath, haha!

@MrsH497 - work sound like they’re being awful! Why are they dragging all of this up now? If they’ve not got the information they needed from your MC, it has nothing to do with your current absence so they need to back off IMO.

@MrsR16 - what a beautiful bump!! The time has absolutely flown, and only 14 working hours left? So exciting!

@BostonFern - I can imagine! Not long now though and you’ll get to enjoy parenthood 😊

purplefig · 20/11/2019 18:05

@MrsR16 gorgeous bump! Is it mad to think you'll be full term next week?! Enjoy your last few days at work - such a lovely time of the year to be wrapping up 🎄

@Tropicana1 glad you took yourself off to be checked and all was grand. Like everyone says, so worth doing but I totally get you with that British not wanting to bother anyone thing! 😅

@MrsEG your yoga teacher sounds like a very sensible person. Just yesterday I was reading a birth story on the PBC fb page of a lady who had a normal pregnancy and had to have an emergency c-section at 37 weeks! She and the baby were fine, but just shows the idea of dead set planning anything is kind of futile. I'm just planning to have a good basic understanding of all the options and some guiding preferences for various routes. Funny how you're noticing differences in them already - twin mums I know all say it's like having an everyday reminder that you can parent children exactly the same and you'll still end up with two totally different kids. Don't think it's thrush as none of the usual discharge, but lll keep an eye on it all the same. Think I'd be tempted to sack off yoga if I were you 🤣

@ELW85 yay for getting home at a reasonable time! How was it? Yes the movements are so cool aren't they? Mine really ramped up the bedtime disco last night...intrigued to see what they get up to this evening 💃🏻

I've had a decent day of work but Nipped into town as was feeling very cooped up (the problem with working from home in winter!) and picked up a 1/2 off AHA in Superdrug and a new library book. Very rock n roll. Lazy night catching up with DH and watching (eye rolling at) the apprentice. Have a nice eve all! X

MrsR16 · 20/11/2019 18:26

@Tropicana1 oh goodness! They do know how to keep us worried don't they? 😂😂

@MrsEG today would have been ok, but of my colleagues was in such a grump and proper snapped at me and another lass! Ah well, only 2 days (!!!) left! 😊 I can't wait!

@MrsH497 definitely don't take any crap! You're looking so wonderful 😊

@ELW85 15 working hours! (7.5 per day) but hey, who's counting?!? 😂 I honestly cannot wait... I'm glad you got home early! That's always a good feeling!

@purplefig it is just crazy! I'd have never thought it possible this time last year... negative test after negative test!

MrsH497 · 20/11/2019 20:17

Thank you lovely ladies 😘 went to my first Pilates class tonight and loved it. It's a 4 week course but hope it'll help me sleep better! Xx

MrsEG · 20/11/2019 20:41

@MrsH497 Glad you enjoyed it and hope all goes well with the superintendent!

@ELW85 hope the train got you home in good time :)

@purplefig I’ve heard the exact same with twins - apparently it’s a fantastic buffer when it comes to unsolicited parental advice too - ‘funnily enough I parent them exactly the same and yet one sleeps through and one doesn’t, so any chance you could bugger off your high horse and accept all babies are different?!’

@MrsR16 Let it wash over you at this point! Not long at all.

I ended up going to yoga, as DH and I had a massive Barney and I needed to storm out and it gave me somewhere to go. Just home and he’s now out so ice cream in bed it is. Hope everyone else has a better eve than moi x

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 20/11/2019 20:57

Oh @MrsEG hope everything is ok. Ice cream definitely solves 99% of problems and makes it better. Sending you a big hug xx
