Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

Morning all, happy Thursday! Not long till the weekend :)

@ELW85 thanks lovely. I am getting the sense that it's common and was just thankful it was brown/old blood, so feeling much, much better now. It does seem like these little ones like putting us in a panic; glad he's back to wriggling away! I hope your day yesterday wasn't too full on? Sounds tiring, but glad you were able to make it back home earlier!

@purplefig I got the firecracker chicken! I love some spice, so it went down well 😁
Have you had a look at the Maxi Cosi car fitting list? www.maxi-cosi.co.uk/car-seat-advisory-tool#/ you input all the data about your car and it tells you whether the car seats you're deciding on is compatible. The mamas and papas sales assistant checked mine and DH's cars before we put an order in.

@MrsH497 how awful of work! To firstly bring that back up and also ask you to prove something so insensitive? Really cruel! I hope you're okay. I hope speaking to the superindent helps!
Your bump is so cute 😊

@MrsR16 your bump is gorgeous!! Enjoy your last two days :)

@Tropicana1 better to be checked out than sit around and worry just in case! Glad she's back to kicking away though 😊

@MrsEG sorry to hear about last night, I hope you're both okay and that yoga helped relieve some of the stress/anger?

So I ended up having to call midwife again yesterday because I was getting really bad cramps which I think was related to constipation (it's been awful for past week!). She recommended getting these fybogel sachets which I had last night after dinner. A bit worried now today is going to go at work (sorry TMI!) 🙈

My manager and I finally sat down to read the maternity policy at work apparently I was supposed to notify them in a form which goes to HR. So finally did that and it's now officially down now that I'm pregnant (better late than never!) 😁

Have a lovely day all x

Tropicana1 · 21/11/2019 08:12

Morning ladies! Almost the weekend 🙌🏻

@MrsEG hope the air is cleared with you and DH this morning, glad yoga gave you a good escape!

@LokiCat hope you don't have any workplace poo problems! 😂 glad to hear the cramping sounds like constipation though rather than baby

purplefig · 21/11/2019 09:13

@MrsR16 how long were you TTC for? Feel free to ignore if that's too nosey!! Grin I'm so excited for you to finish work...and ever so slightly envious.

@MrsH497 ooo Pilates sounds lovely! Is it a pregnancy specific one or can they give you modifications? I think exercise is excellent for sleep - I definitely seem to sleep deeper post yoga.

@MrsEG sorry to hear about your barney with DH - but I think with yoga, ice cream and bed you have handled it like an absolute boss. Hope everything gets cleared up today lovely.

@LokiCat Ooo I love a bit of a spice too. Yet despite all the tempting options, I so often end up ordering the veggie katsu curry...so boring, but so ridiculously tasty. Thanks for the link - I have checked it out and it says out car will fit it, but the guy we spoke to the other weekend in Halfords seemed to think we'd have trouble fitting an isobase with a stand in our car?! So we're going to go and get it fitted on the weekend just to double check. How's your cramping today? Hope the fybogel sachets work their magic.

I woke up in a strop today...this time about the weather. So reasonable Grin. It's just so depressingly grey and rainy down here at the moment. Which obviously I don't mind given it's November, but it's relentless! Where are those crisp, bright autumnal days at?! Have a good day all - hope the sun is out wherever you are x

MrsH497 · 21/11/2019 10:27

@purplefig it's just a normal Pilates class but the instructor only allows 1 pregnant lady per class so she can really make sure I do everything properly and adjust some of the moves as I can't do them. Think I slept a bit better.

Due back to work tomorrow, GP has recommended reduced hours especially with my travel to work as well. I'm definitely better still have days I'm not 100% but I think with HG I'm going to have those.

Also worried that if I don't go back soon my SMP will be affected. Already worried that a reduction in hours (8 down to 6) will have a bad impact on it

Have a fab day ladies. Thank you to everyone who said my bump looks lovely it's so nice to see it!

MrsR16 · 21/11/2019 11:46

@MrsH497 ooh pilates sounds good!

@MrsEG hope everything's ok today lovely... never much fun when we argue with DH!

@LokiCat glad you're all sorted at work now! 😂 and thank you 😊 it's not going too badly, but am sat waiting for a midwife appt at the moment, so enjoying not being there! Hehe

@purplefig it was about 9 months... so nothing in comparison to some, but in all that time, the only positive pregnancy test I had was this one! It got really hard and I always wondered what was wrong with me. But I've had it so much easier than some so I'm grateful really!

MrsEG · 21/11/2019 12:08

Hi all, had a very scary night/morning - didn't feel the twins at all. Tried everything, cold water, coke, sweets etc. By about 5am I was delirious and called triage and they wanted me in as I'm nearly 27 weeks now. Fetal monitor was useless as it was struggling to find/differentiate between two babies so ended up having a full scan and check with the consultant - both boys are absolutely fine. I am so relieved. I almost felt like an idiot when we saw them thrashing about but I still couldn't feel it! They said it could be that I've had some really strong movement days recently as they've been changing position but now they could be setting up camp so I'll feel less rolls and lighter kicks instead etc. They were absolutely wonderful with us, assured me I'd done the right thing going in etc. I feel so relieved but so so tired!

Forced me and DH to make up quick time this morning too haha!

Will catch up with the thread properly later after a nap xx

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 21/11/2019 13:13

@MrsEG oh my goodness I'm so glad everything's ok! How scary! Don't blame you for having a nap at all... take it easy! Xx

MrsH497 · 21/11/2019 13:37

@MrsEG oh how totally scary for you. So glad your boys are ok in there. Make sure you catch up on some rest and look after you. Xx

purplefig · 21/11/2019 15:05

@MrsH497 oh that class sounds really good, she sounds like a great instructor. Could you speak to HR about any SMP implications of changing your hours?

@MrsR16 that's exactly the same as me - 9 months and no whiff of a BFP until this one. It's funny to look back to the start of TTC and think how I naively thought it'd take a couple of months tops Grin.

@MrsEG so sorry about your horrendous sounding night and morning, but so, so, so glad everything is OK with the boys. Don't feel like an idiot at all - you're advised to go in if you notice reduced movements and that's what you did. What a horrible scare, I bet your shattered with it. Enjoy your nap, I hope you get some good sleep.

MrsEG · 21/11/2019 16:28

@MrsR16 @MrsH497 @purplefig Thanks ladies, feeling much better. I’ve just scoffed a full grab bag of Buttons which has put the world to rights! It was very scary as they normally go nuts at night and first thing and there was just nothing. They’re back at it now of course. It was amazing to see how much they were moving around on the scan considering how little I could feel - the consultant said this is why they generally say you can’t track a pattern until the third tri as before that all they have to do is roll over and it’s like they’ve disappeared! So that was reassuring to hear.

Have cleared the air with DH too - big bust up as he wanted to keep playing his away games with rugby basically until I pop. His plan was to leave his phone with someone on the sidelines and they could pull him off the field if I went in to labour... no consideration to how much help I’ll need in those final weeks, and the fact these games are often an hours drive away. On top of that, consultant has told me that whilst for a singleton pregnancy when your waters break you hang on at home for a while, with two as soon as they go you must call and go straight in for monitoring. So I can hardly wait over an hour for him to get home!! He just kept saying ‘that’s so unrealistic, what are the odds it’ll happen on a Saturday afternoon’ as if I could plan the exact day and time it’ll happen! Of course my hormones got the better of me and rather than talk it out I screamed, cried and stormed out of the house. But all is cleared today!!

@LokiCat Constipation is awful it really is - I had a very bad phase of it and honestly what helped most was drinking tonnes of water (I’m talking 3 litres a day); it was the only thing that helped clear the pipes, shall we say!!

@purplefig The weather here is awful too - just grey and cold! It’s rotten! Looks like we’re forecast rain for the next week solid as well!

@mrsH497 Hope all goes well with returning to work; just take it a day at a time and see how you get on. If you need to reduce the hours even just for now then do, to look after yourself!

OP posts:
purplefig · 21/11/2019 16:42

@MrsEG So glad you feel better post nap and buttons! It's crazy but reassuring to think that all they have to do is shift positions and suddenly you can't feel them. Even though I am officially in the third trimester, the movement varies so much every day and some days are way quieter. Also after saying about he or she going mental at night, last night I turned off the lights and excitedly got DH to put his hand on my belly ready and...nada! Grin

Glad it's all sorted with your DH too. FWIW I think you're totally in the right and he just wasn't thinking about it from your perspective, which - as the pregnant party in all of this!! - really is the most important one. But pregnancy hormones make disagreements difficult to handle for sure. I hope you've got a nice chilled out evening planned.

Similar forecast down here I'm afraid. I've been hibernating a bit though and given I work from home, I don't think that's a great habit to get into. I forced myself out in the rain yesterday and today the sun came out at lunch so DH came home from lunch and we went on a dog walk and it was so nice.

What's everyone up to this eve? I've got another veggie sausage stew and dumplings on the go and I think we're going to watch another episode of The Crown. I'm really enjoying it, Olivia Coleman is incredible. (Less keen on HCB as Margaret). Have a good one all! x

MrsH497 · 21/11/2019 16:48

@MrsEG GP has put me on 6 hours for a month which will help. Also might have a new task/role which the inspector is more than happy for occasional days I work from home! Hooray! Common sense prevails! Xx

MrsEG · 21/11/2019 18:46

@purplefig It’s crazy - the whole tracking movements thing is a bloody minefield. They said again today (as I’d said it worried me as they are often so active in the morning) that they won’t always move at the same times either 🙈 - what exactly we’re supposed to ‘track’ then I just don’t know haha! They’re wriggling away now though so I’m happy again! Yep agreed - I really don’t think DH thinks much about anything pre-babies; he’s all set and ready for a long paternity leave and wants to be a super hands on dad etc, but it’s like the birth itself hasn’t really crossed his mind?! I’ll have to get him listening to the PBC digital pack too! Ooh enjoy that stew it sounds lovely! RuPaul finale for me tonight (don’t judge!)

@MrsH497 Oh that’s fabulous news, delighted for you! WFH is a dream when pregnant it really is!!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 21/11/2019 18:53

Sorry, I’m just so tired at the end of the day to keep up with this thread 🙈 no excuse really!

@LokiCat - did you decide to have a early scan or not?

@MrsEG - hope your ok and sorted out with your DH, hormones don’t help! I’m due in March but won’t go past Feb so me working in Feb is not going to happen, 3 full on days is enough for me already let alone by Feb!

@cupcakesandglitter - so glad your scan went well! How many weeks are you now?

@Tropicana1 - how’s your cat now, and how are you?

I’m glad everyone agrees with me about the phone usage in theatre, I couldn’t believe how many people were getting pulled up on it!

So after a frustrating wait for wayfair - they delivered last Friday! Yayyyy you would like to think - however we needed two replacement parts and only one piece turned up and it’s all chipped 🤬 I am beyond frustrated and pissed off with wayfair now - they are sending a totally new unit out and should be with us by start of December 🤨 we have now 4 massive boxes in the nursery which they won’t collect but we can pay to post it back to them 🤨 we have then had a mamas and papas order turn up today so that’s another 3 boxes - we got it delivered today as we were planning to sort the nursery out last weekend - and we can’t till this unit goes up and we put everything in it Aaaaaaaargh!!!

On good news I had my 24 week scan - babies have over doubled their weight and now weight 1lb 9oz and very wriggly - Pop decided to put their hands over their face when she went to take photos so only got photos of Pip. Pip who will be born first is head down and Pop is transverse - so their feet are touching 😂 my mum loved it (although like me - couldn’t work out half the body parts out!)

Spoke for the midwife about car seats and she said it’s purely because they don’t want new parents to carry their babies to the car esp if they are carrying bags etc she suggested bringing the pram to which I said that’s really faffy and pointless because the pram will be wheeled to the mat unit (which is right next to the car park) babies put in it and then to the car and into the car seats - so she has agreed to have one of the cots which they sleep in in hospital to come out to the car 😊 she’s pleased I have slowed down at work and said 3 days is currently perfect for me but make sure I rest a lot during the day when I can and on my days off😊
Hope everyone is ok and I haven’t missed anyone 🙈

MrsR16 · 21/11/2019 19:40

@purplefig yeah, how wrong were we huh? 😂 ah well, we got there!! I'm watching the apprentice at the moment! Have to wait for DH to get home before I'm allowed to watch I'm a celeb 😂

@MrsEG I have no chocolate in the house 😕 buttons sound really good right now!! I'm so glad you have sorted out with DH - it's not nice to argue at the best of times. I don't think you're unreasonable to ask him to make sure he's around! I couldn't cope without my DH being around now!

@PippaPug tiredness is a perfect excuse! It's what I'm using at the moment for everything haha! 😂 I'm so pleased your scan went well! It does suck about wayfair though! I've used them for a couple of bits and they've been ok...

Oh goodness, ladies, Peanut is having a party in my uterus at the moment!! It's wonderful but I can feel absolutely everything and with it being head down, it's uncomfortable too! 😂 I'll miss it when it's actually here though.

MrsEG · 21/11/2019 19:50

@PippaPug You definitely need to get those feet up in Feb! What a pain about Wayfair. I hope you’ve complained! Ah fab news about the scan - at 24 weeks mine were 1lb 9 and 1lb 10 so pretty much the same!! They were 2lb 3 and 2lb 2 today. So pleased they’re growing at the same rate! I’ve got one head down and one transverse at the mo too - they are changing position CONSTANTLY though; every 2 weeks over the last 6 weeks they’ve been in different positions!! Yeah I’ve heard that midwives literally just want to make sure babies are safe to travel home, which makes sense! I’m such a baby novice I’ll be delighted for someone to just confirm I’ve put them in the seats okay!!

@MrsR16 It genuinely does scare me the idea of being so big and him not being around; who will get me out of the bath, pull me up off the sofa?! Ahh you’ve got a little dancer there haha!! My sister said she missed feeling her baby so much that sometimes in the bath she’d look down at her ‘empty’ belly and cry!

OP posts:
PippaPug · 21/11/2019 19:53

@MrsEG - sorry I didn’t read the whole thread before - what a rollercoaster few days you have had!

Maybe take your DH’s games as each week and see how it goes? My DH goes running about 40 mins away (with a running club) and so we are just playing it by ear atm.

So so glad your boys are ok and they are back to their normal movements! You did the right thing going in though - much better for peace of mind for sure!

@MrsR16 - How are you? I think when I’m working it uses all my brain power - yesterday I was out of the house for 16 hours and it has wiped me tomorrow and I have to head back to work tomorrow (has today off for the scan) I’m so annoyed with Wayfair - I really don’t think I would use them again sadly! They keep sending me offers and it’s making me really cross still!

MrsR16 · 21/11/2019 20:08

@MrsEG I use him to help my brain! 😂 I can't help myself sometimes and just get hormonal over the stupidest things - DH is awesome at helping with that, bless him.

@PippaPug oh goodness, I can barely cope with my normal working day, let alone 16 hours!! Just try and take it easy as much as you can lovely xx

ELW85 · 21/11/2019 22:11

Evening all

@MrsEG - sorry to hear you’ve had a tough couple of days, but it’s wonderful news that the little ones are doing well!
I also agree with you on the DH situation, but hopefully it’s all resolved now.

@LokiCat - how are you feeling my dear?

@MrsR16 - happy last day for tomorrow!

@PippaPug - so pleased the scan went well!

@purplefig - can’t wait to start watching The Crown again. We’ve just finished the last season of The Man in the High Castle, so it’ll be on to that next. I like Olivia Colman but never been so sure about Helena BC...

It’s nearly Friday everyone! Going to need this weekend; I’m shattered!

Fivebyfive2 · 21/11/2019 22:47

Hi all! So glad it's Friday tomorrow! Had our NCT feeding class tonight, really great but soooo much info to take on!

@MrsEG, oh god, I'm so glad to read all is OK with your boys xx It's a tricky one with partners at the later stages I think; just getting that balance where it is not like we want them to put everything on hold, but at the same time certain things need to be taken into consideration! I'm sure you guys will sort it all out though xxx

So I've had a bit of a weird one, dh has had to step in to sort some family politics on his side this evening 🙄 Long story short, my sil (who I work with) has organised a mini baby shower for me next Sat 😀 It's basically just the office girls and my one best friend from school, who is only coming because by happy coincidence, she happens to be in our area that weekend. Not even sure my mum is going - she's said as it's mostly my work pals, she might leave us to it, which is fine. Anyway, mentioned this casually to mil on our Skype call the other day - dh parents are in Spain until Christmas. She texted dh today, wanting to know time and location, as apparently she was in the process of 'inviting' his half sister and his half brothers wife to my work based baby shower?! Just to add, we're not close at all, we've seen them twice since I've been pregnant and they barely even mentioned it! Wtf?! Apparently, mil wanted them there 'in her place' as she wishes she could come?! Thankfully dh reiterated it was pretty much just people from work and it would be super weird and she seems to have gotten the point without taking too much offence. Sigh... In laws 😂

MrsR16 · 21/11/2019 23:37

@ELW85 thank you! I'm excited to be done now 😊

@Fivebyfive2 wow that sounds worse than my in laws! Glad it all seems to have smoothed over without too many issues though.

BabySquid · 22/11/2019 05:31

Morning all, been so absent again on here so it's taken me ages to catch up!
@MrsR16 happy last day of work. Hope it goes fast and is fun (and not too emotional!)
@MrsH497 with regards your hours affecting your SMP, SMP is calculated using the two pays (as long as you're monthly paid) 15 weeks before your due date.
@MrsEG glad everything's ok with babies it's scary and unfair how they do this to us and make us worry!
@Fivebyfive2 what a mare about your MIL! Glad she understands now though.

So I've got my first diabetes clinic today and coz DH can't get the day off, got my mum coming with me, which will be nice for her as I have a scan too for growth.
I've been so uncomfortable these last few days and really need to find something to relieve it but there are NO pregnancy friendly yoga/swimming/Pilates classes near me at a decent hour! Going to just google some stretches I think and go from there. We've made a start on our baby buying (finally at 28.5 weeks!) got the carpet fitting on the 7tgh, furniture coming the 14th, car seat coming today and prams at my mums already, she's reluctantly bringing it today so I can make sure my car seat fits on it as it was on offer so bought it without looking at the pram list first! 🤦🏼‍♀️
Finally... happy Friday all 😁😁

MrsEG · 22/11/2019 06:36

@PippaPug Thanks hun! My main issue is with his away games he’s usually gone for about 6 hours with the travel, warm up and game. I think my PGP makes me feel a bit more selfish about it as I can do so little independently! I’ve only asked him to not play in January too, so realistically we’re talking about 3 games before babies are here!! Oh I hope you get everything sorted with Wayfair, what a nightmare, it’s just not what you need when sorting a nursery at all!

@MrsR16 Ha oh my gosh I am so the same; I actually have a sore throat this morning because I caught up on Paul O’Gradys dog show yesterday and during the ad break convinced myself one of the dogs was going to die (he didn’t). Cried so so much and now can barely talk this morning! DH had to calm me down (‘It isn’t even a dog we know...’)
Happy last day!! Hope it goes brilliantly :)

@ELW85 Thanks hun, they’re back to their usual twin wrestling this morning! I’m also delighted to see Friday today. Should probably go to the office but WFH instead. I’m at that point where I’m so close to mat leave now I just don’t care!

@Fivebyfive2 Is the feeding session the breastfeeding workshop? Ours is on a Saturday and 6 hours long - I’m a bit daunted by it!! Yeah it is hard with DH; I think I get a bit irritated too that he can still do his hobbies and I can’t. I know I shouldn’t think like that but it’s hard not to! What a weird one with your MIL..... they love to get involved don’t they?! Ah how lovely you have that to look forward to this weekend though!

@BabySquid Hope all goes well at the diabetes clinic! Is there a pool local to you? I’ve found just getting in the pool once a week has been amazing; I don’t do much, just a bit of backstroke but the weightless feeling in the water is just amazing!

Morning all - babies back to their usual morning gymnastics today! PGP is bad at the moment but I’ve not done my exercises for a few days so that’s probably on me. The pain in my groin is just constant now and I’ve noticed that even though I can still just about get myself in the car I now really struggle to reach back again to close the door. I’ve been dreading getting to the stage with it where I lose my independence; luckily I have physio again next week.
Have good Fridays everyone!! Any good plans for the weekend? I’m going for lunch with some friends on Sunday but other than that, doing nothing at all!

OP posts:
Fivebyfive2 · 22/11/2019 07:46

@MrsEG, the feeding class was about 2.5 hours and covered breast and bottle, including formula so everyone was covered! We have our last class tomorrow, it's 4 hours and apparently we do '24 hours with a baby' which should be interesting!! Hope your physio helps you to feel better xxx

MrsR16 · 22/11/2019 07:47

@BabySquid thank you! I hope the car seat fits 🙈

@MrsEG I love that programme! Watched it the other night at the ILs and I was convinced Paul was going to take one of them home! 😂 thank you, I hope it goes ok too! I've got my family baby shower tomorrow and my sister's baby shower on Sunday! Whole weekend of celebrating babies hehe 😍 I'm glad to see babies are behaving again!
