Getting a new one started before we are full! I’ll go back now and add people - answering everyone’s last posts here!!

@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

@MrsEG have you had success with a maternity dress yet? I really struggled finding one for the other weekend and am hoping it still fits for my baby shower! 😂 I'm doing ok, had a long day today and spent lots of it on my feet, which probably wasn't the wisest idea, but I'll survive! 5 days of work left which is amazing... beautiful bump picture! You're looking really well! I've taken a picture of mine every week and I look back occasionally and think "oh god, where did this bump come from?!?"

@Lemonysherbet I hope your scan goes well! You must be so excited 😊

@ELW85 beautiful bump! And gorgeous bedding 😊

@LokiCat aw glad you had a good day yesterday! The rocking chair is unbelievably comfy... I spent lots of time in it when DH was faffing with other stuff 😂

@Fivebyfive2 oh wow that looks beautiful! And well done you on the Christmas shopping! I haven't even thought about it haha 😂

@purplefig thanks, lovely! We're chuffed with it 😊 your weekend sounds great! DH and I love the crown, but he's currently napping, so I'm waiting till he's more with it before we put it in (between Strictly and I'm a Celeb and eating at some point...) Bump is gorgeous! Pjs are perfectly acceptable at any time of day! 😂

MrsEG · 17/11/2019 18:22

@MrsR16 I found a few on ASOS that look quite roomy so saved those, and one on Dorothy Perkins too; my shower isn’t til 8 Dec so gonna hang fire and see if they get reduced on Black Friday! It’s so good to look back isn’t it; I’ve taken one a week now since 9 weeks - when I look back at some now I can’t believe I thought I used to have a bump compared to what I’m carrying around now!! 5 days left at work, ahhh how exciting!!!

@MrsEG that's great that you've got a few options! Tell me about it - I posted on Instagram at 26 weeks where I said that I felt like a whale then! Little did I know how much bigger I'd get! 😂 hindsight's a wonderful thing haha

MrsH497 · 17/11/2019 19:33

Hey ladies. We had a lovely time celebrating today just had a quiet day. Met up with a friend who's got a 6 month old so that was fab to talk things like cloth nappies, routines, birth all that stuff!

Took this this morning I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. Someone appears to have made me extremely emotional and cry at the drop of a hat today! Not sure if I really have a bump or not!

@MrsEG I've just ordered a dress from Want That Trent, it's from the Katie Piper range... they do some really nice floaty looking ones so may have more room? (It's for my work xmas do and hoping my baby shower too!) I also love how big your bump is, and not a mark in sight (unless it's just good photo angles!?)
@purplefig I love when you post a bump pic coz yours is about the same size as mine which makes me feel great😁 and with regards the GD, I don't see my midwife now as I'll be hospital lead ☹️ I have an appointment on Friday so I'll find out more then hopefully.
@Fivebyfive2 I love your nursery it's so colourful and beautiful
We've had a very productive weekend, the bed from the spare room/nursery is now at my brothers, the nursery furniture has been bought and coming weekend after the carpets fitted, and we bought the paint ready to go next weekend! Oh and also ordered the car seat, went for the Joie 360 as there was £110 off with bounty.

MrsEG · 17/11/2019 20:54

@MrsR16 Ha! I posted a pic after my 20-week scan like ‘can’t believe how big bump is already!’ And all my friends with kids were like ohhhh you just wait!! Do you have much planned for your last day at work?

@MrsH497 Ha oh I cry at everything. A particularly soppy advert will set me off. I cried today at the park when two couples told me that my dog was lovely. The joy of hormones!!

@BabySquid Oh I haven’t heard of them, I’ll go look at their dresses now! I don’t have any stretch marks yet (🤞🏼) but given I’ve 11 weeks to go, if I keep expanding at this rate I’ll be amazed if I don’t get some. Oh well - war paint, as they say; I’ll embrace it if I do!! My mum didn’t get a single one across two back to back pregnancies, but my sister got loads. So I don’t even know if genetics are on my side!! Sounds like you’ve had a super productive weekend! Bet you can’t wait to get the nursery sorted!

Evening everyone hope your well, lovely to see all the bump pics 💕💕 they're all coming on so much!!

cupcakesandglitter · 17/11/2019 22:03

Oh @MrsEG can't say I'm not jealous, it's such bloody hard work 😓 tiny baby size is adorable, have you seen the little socks? 🥺 hope you find a nice dress soon - hopefully with the Black Friday sales give you some luck!! Your bump is amazing, it's so nice to watch it grow 🥰

Good luck for your scan @Lemonysherbet 🥰

@ELW85 your morning sounds amazing ☺️ not quite the same but crumpets are insaaaaane 🤤 look at that bump!! So cute 😭

Ahh @LokiCat don't even fret, I feel like when you're pregnant everyone sees it as an invitation to start making unnecessary comments 🤦🏻‍♀️ I definitely can't wait - we had some crappy wallpaper in the room because we just did what we could to move in quickly, so we had no choice but to tear it all down. I'd definitely recommend wall decals, so much easier honestly!! Plus cream goes with everything too - and looks amazing with safari prints etc!!

Ahhh @Fivebyfive2 looks amazing!! Homer's going to love it! What scan is it for you tomorrow?

@purplefig let me know if you manage to find them, I haven't yet 😭 Didn't get my hair done, my hairdresser wasn't well 😞 on the plus side, my brows look much tidier BUT I noticed today that my eyelashes have gone flatter and shorter too, my lash lady said it's normal in pregnancy and the same goes for brows 🙁 I don't watch the crown but omg that cake sounds amaaaaazing 🤤 look at your bump!!! Ps zero judgement from me about being in your pyjamas, I live in mine 😂 (also yours are lovely!!)

Aww @MrsH497 definitely a little bump forming there!! 🥰

Ahh @BabySquid nursery progress!! It'll be done before you know it 🥰

@thumper59 Howre you getting on? 😊

I'll join you all in bump pics - here's mine from earlier, please ignore the bits of wallpaper on the floor 🤦🏻‍♀️ Should've taken it after food, it doubles in size 😂 haven't felt baby move as much the last couple of days, but she loves when I eat 😂 can't wait until my scan. One more day to go!!!

BostonFern · 18/11/2019 08:30

Hi ladies, this thread seems to have moved quickly over the last few days! Will try my best to catch up!

@MrsEG I don't think the sweep did much, cervix wasn't really forward enough, but I think things may have progressed by themselves since then.
I also happen to think your bump is amazing, and you're doing a wonderful job-carrying one baby has been hard enough for me, I'm in awe of you carrying two!
Re the positive birthing company packs-there's lots I can't do because of being high risk with my heart, but I still found the pack really useful, and have already utilised lots of the relaxation techniques and techniques for making decisions about labour etc. Plus, it's made my partner a lot more confident about what he can do so he doesn't feel like a spare part or panic!
Hormones have a lot to answer for-the other morning I cried because I saw a robin in the garden - we have robins visit us everyday, but for some reason that time made me cry!

@LokiCat that looks like a lovely bump to me!

@ELW85 thanks for asking, physically getting more uncomfortable by the day, emotionally a mixture of excited knowing it's not long now, nervous, and feeling like I've got lots of jobs I want to do before the induction (none of which really need doing in reality!). Your bump is looking fabulous by the way!

@BabySquid I can't believe the hospital didn't contact you about the GD! I'm sure the midwife will make sure you get all the care and advice you need though.

@MrsH497 hope you had a lovely wedding anniversary.

@Larrydavid keep getting lots of rest, I remember the first trimester making me feel miserable, but it does pass x

@Fivebyfive2 I'm impressed you finished the Christmas shopping! I've managed about 80% of it-DP has been given the task of finishing it after baby arrives (what's left is almost entirely the men in his family, so I'm hoping it shouldn't be too much of a challenge!). The stickers and canvases look lovely! Hope your scan goes well today too.

@purplefig your bump is fabulous!

@cupcakesandglitter lovely bump too!

Lots has happened since my last post on Wednesday- Saturday morning was spent at the hospital on a monitor as I'd been worried baby had moved less-he was fine, but they offered to bring my induction forward if I was worried. I decided that since baby was fine, and my cervix wasn't really favourable on Wednesday we'd leave it a while longer until my planned induction date (hospital were great, said if I was worried and changed my mind to go back in). Was having a few contractions whilst on the monitor too. Lots of twinges and pains on Saturday night, then I started to lose my mucous plug. Ladies, when it happens be prepared to be a mixture of grossed out, amazed and excited! It's been coming out since, and I've got to the point where I'm wondering how much more there can be! 😂 Still getting twinges, so hopefully I'll either go into labour spontaneously before induction, or this will all be helping my cervix and induction will be easier?

BostonFern · 18/11/2019 08:33

Oh, and a bump photo since we are sharing 🙂
This was bump on Saturday at 38+3:

@MrsEG Bump is looking amazing!!! And your Sunday sounds like the perfect, dreamy Sunday 👌🏼. Glad work is quietening down a bit too. Yes the FB group is great - it's just birth stories and then a weekly q&a/ help thread. I've been using the meditations to fall asleep to too, she has such a relaxing voice. The cake turned out so well, which I'm very relieved about as I'm a notoriously shit baker 👩🏻‍🍳🤣. Tbh I don't think you'd need to watch the previous series of The Crown, as this one is set significantly later so some different characters / storylines. I'm so uninterested in the royals, but my Nan bullied me into watching it and it's actually really gripping. Thanks nan 👑

@MrsR16 love the tv schedule 🤣 did you fit any crown in? We watched the first ep - I just love Olivia Coleman.

@MrsH497 Definitely looks like the beginnings of a bump to me - just gorgeous! Was it fun getting to hang out with a six month old?

@BabySquid we're the same due date aren't we? Bump twins! Hope you get more useful info on Friday.

@thumper59 thank you!! How's life with your gorgeous little man??

@cupcakesandglitter random and (slightly creepy?!) observation but I love your lipstick shade!! Bump is looking gorgeous too. Weird about eyelashes getting shorter in pregnancy though!! I always thought it encouraged hair growth?? But I've barely been shaving my legs and normally I'd be a total yeti but I'm not 🤷🏼‍♀️

@BostonFern wow you have had a busy week! It all sounds like amazing progress though and either way you'll be meeting them soon - I'm so excited for you!! Also your bump is so so cute ❤️

I'm 28 weeks today so officially in the third trimester! Feels mad - I'm excited to be on the homestretch though I've got to say, daily backache is no fun. Plus I've also lost all motivation with work - it just seems so insignificant right now 🤣 not to mention being tethered to a desk does not feel good. Seriously tempted to bring my maternity leave forward a bit...we shall see! Have a grand Monday all x

MrsH497 · 18/11/2019 09:29

@purplefig it was! He was born same sort of time we are due and although was very tiny at birth due to issues with the placenta so not growing and mum having pre eclampsia he the happiest chunkiest little dude. They gave us so much advice it was fab. DH spoke loads to her DH so I think it helped him ask "dad" questions he hadn't been sure about cloth nappies but when he saw them he was sold!

Meant to be back to work this week but I'm not pushing myself I'll see how I feel.

So glad you all think there's a little bump there I wasn't sure but it's quite firm. Love that it decided to show on our anniversary!

Is anyone trying hypnobirthing? Something else my friend says is good.
@Larrydavid it does get easier but if you're struggling please talk to your dr there is safe medication you take for the being sick and nausea. Ritz crackers and sipping water through a straw I ended up doing at my worst!

@BostonFern what a beautiful bump! Glad little one is ok and you are as well.

Have a good day ladies x

BostonFern · 18/11/2019 09:41

Thank you @purplefig @MrsH497

@purplefig I've used lots of heat packs this last trimester to help with the back ache-might be worth a try.

@MrsH497 listen to your body and if you're not ready to go back to work don't push yourself.

MrsEG · 18/11/2019 09:52

@thumper59 Hello lovely!! How are you getting on?

@cupcakesandglitter Bump looks lovely! Food still sets mine off kicking, and fizzy drinks - if I eat chocolate they go to town haha!! Hope you got on well with the decorating - it can feel like such a challenge at first but it all comes together in the end!!

@BostonFern Thanks lovely I’m definitely going to get cracking with it! Oh wow, sounds like things are really starting to get moving for you now! Fingers crossed for this week for you lovely - your bump is beautiful!

@purplefig I’ll hunt down the FB group! The cake sounds amazing! That’s what I was hoping for with the crown - but to be fair, everyone raves about the early seasons too so maybe I’ll just watch it all! Happy third tri! Bring that mat leave forward I say haha, what’s your due date?

@MrsH497 Don’t push yourself back to work if you’re not ready lovely, take care of yourself!

I hate to start the week with a big fat moan but I’m in agony today. I know I’m not supposed to walk a lot with my PGP but I really didn’t think a 40 min dog walk would ruin me as much as it has. My right hip hurts so much it feels like it’s popped out of its socket. I’m actually walking with a limp! Luckily, I’m working at home today so have only had to walk to the dining room. I feel so, so immobilised though. I know it’s temporary but I used to run about 20km a week and walk the dog twice a day so sometimes I find it really hard.

PippaPug · 18/11/2019 10:17

Hello!

Sorry I have Been quiet - I had my work Trial last week - Thank you all for your good luck messages, it obviously helped as I got the job! However it was pretty tricky, a 12 month old who doesn’t sleep unless being rocked....the twins hated being squished for almost a hour as they were kicking madly, I was getting very hungry/thirsty and with all the movement and pressure I needed the toilet....after almost a hour or rocking, the child slept for 20 mins 😭 I was shattered after only two days and after a lot of walking my back pretty much seized up on the train home which was one painful weekend where I could barely walk to the bathroom whilst hobbling. I think I have sadly coming to the realisation that me working 5 days a week now is in the past and this three day a week job is pushing me physically to my limits now - so on my two days off I do now need to majorly rest (I honestly thought I would be able to work up till Christmas with no problems and thought the midwife was being overly cautious when she said the end of November!)

How is everyone getting on with everything?

@LokiCat - I bet your excited for your scan this week, it’s tomorrow isn’t it?

@MrsEG - that sounds incredibly frustrating and painful - I don’t really know what to suggest, would swimming help at all?

@BostonFern - Bump is looking beautiful! Not to long for you now!

I was at the hospital at the weekend to meet my friends newborn, only 2 days old - she was perfect 😍 when I was holding her I was trying to imagine holding two teeny newborns and I couldn’t work it out! Today after resting all weekend and not getting nearly half of what I wanted done, I’m off to London to spend time with my friend before she moves abroad with work and we are off to Mary Poppins tonight! I am sure I will cry when saying goodbye to her tonight however!

I hope everyone is having a good start to the week! X

BabySquid · 18/11/2019 10:18

@BostonFern have you actually managed to get away with no stretch marks at all?? Your bump is beautiful 🥰

@purplefig yes we're the same due date, happy 28 weeks 🥳 I'm totally there with you about feeling less than motivated at work... when are you planning on finishing for ML? My last day I'd hopefully Friday the 24th Jan.

28 weeks today 👏🏻👏🏻
I'll be posting a picture later on, we've had another growth spurt!

purplefig · 18/11/2019 11:41

@MrsH497 ahh that sounds perfect - I don't think you can beat getting tips off people who have been through it all before. FWIW, I love the principals of hypnobirthing and think they can relate to any birth. In my experience (of having learnt about it but not yet got to put it into practice!), it's just about staying calm / feeling in control / making decisions that feel right for you / understanding your body and the birth process. We didn't have hundreds spare for a course, so did the £39 positive birth company online course and I couldn't recommend it enough.

@BostonFern oh thanks for the reminder - my mum gave me some to try so I just give them a go. Have just been relying on hot water bottles / baths.

@MrsEG The Crown could be good maternity / newborn binging material?! Due date is Feb 10th and was planning on working until the end of Jan. it's becoming less and less appealing though 🤣. Ohhh I'm so sorry to read about your PGP pain - you have every right to moan, it's so unfair and as you say immobilising. If you're WFH today, could a bath help ease it? Might be tricky getting in and out though. Could you book in for a private physio massage? Mine really helped my back on the day. Really feel for you, chronic aches and pain are horrid to deal with. You're doing so well though, and although it probably doesn't feel like it right now - the end is in sight. The things we go through to keep the human species going, eh?! Take it easy and be extra kind to yourself today. And tell that dog of yours they owe you extra snuggles for that walk!!

@PippaPug oh my goodness that sounds full on...! How long does this job last for?!

@BabySquid I was planning to work until the end of Jan, but I'm self employed so can be pretty flexible. I might just do super part time hours in Jan as the bigger I get, the more uncomfortable being strapped to a desk feels. Glad it's not just me that feels unmotivated at work though!Ooo I'm excited for your bump update!!

BostonFern · 18/11/2019 12:25

@MrsEG sorry your PGP is causing so much pain, it must be so frustrating too.

@PippaPug great news on the trial and job! 3 days sounds sensible too.

@BabySquid yes, I've been really lucky so far not to get any stretch marks. I'm convinced they'll appear in the next few days though, I don't think I'll be lucky enough to come out of pregnancy without them!

MrsR16 · 18/11/2019 13:26

@MrsEG actual work wise, hopefully as little as possible! 😊 my colleagues are taking me out for a meal afterwards though, which is nice (even though I'll be exhausted!) That sucks about your PGP - I hope it's eased a little bit for you!

@BostonFern oh wow exciting!! I hope you're doing ok at the moment 😊 also, super cute bump! I haven't had any stretch marks yet either, but neither did my mum or my sisters, so there's hope for me yet! 😂

@purplefig no, we didn't! We were so tired in the end so The Crown is on the schedule for tonight haha 😂 exciting you're in the third trimester!

@MrsH497 echoing the other ladies - just take your time! If you're not feeling right, don't force yourself.

@PippaPug aw, take it easy lovely! Meeting any newborn is just amazing but it must be surreal for you at the moment!

@BabySquid ooh, looking forward to seeing bump picture!

Tropicana1 · 18/11/2019 13:29

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been MIA I've been having the most stressful time. One of my cats was really sick and I had to place a feeding tube in him, which then blocked leading to me in a pile of tears at the top of the stairs 🙈 I'm not at all a person who normally gets stressed so the way I've been feeling this last week or so has really knocked me for six. Genuinely just ended up one week night sobbing uncontrollably not really knowing why so also laughing at myself at the same time whilst sobbing. Nightmare.

Feeling slightly less stressed today though and a bit more myself so hopefully won't get so overwhelmed again. Bloody cat still not 100% though, and he ripped out his tube so I might have to replace it if he doesn't start eating properly again 🙈

Hope you're all having a better, slightly less hormonally crazy time than me! Been having lots of Braxton hicks recently too, which feel really odd to me!

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 8!
MrsH497 · 18/11/2019 13:42

Oh @Tropicana1 you poor thing hope puss is on the mend xx

purplefig · 18/11/2019 13:51

@Tropicana1 that's a totally justifiable reaction imo!! You poor thing, it's horrid when pets get ill. You can't communicate and they just seem so helpless. Go easy on yourself ❤️ wishing your gorgeous kitty cat a speedy recovery. (Seriously. So cute).

@MrsR16 enjoy!! 👑

I'm wearing a tight maternity top today and I can actually see the baby wriggling around under it...sometimes pregnancy is so surreal.

BabySquid · 18/11/2019 14:35

@Tropicana1 look at that pudda, he's so cute. Hope he starts eating properly soon. You have every right to have bouts of uncontrollable, random sobs! I'm sure we all do it at some point.

@purplefig I'm also wearing a tighter top and can see all the movements. It's so weird but I love it 🥰 can feel when they have a good ol' roll over though it feels so awkward and then goes massively hard where their back is! Then goes again when they realise it's not all that comfy!!

LokiCat · 18/11/2019 15:57

Hi ladies. I've just had the most awful day.
Went to the toilet at work and had some brown spotting on my underwear and every time I wiped which obviously threw me into panic mode. We had sex last night, so I was assuming its that. Called up the pregnancy advice line and the midwife confirmed it, but still I can't help but worry.
I spoke to my manager and burst out crying infront of him (so embarrassing 🙈). He was so great about it and let me go home early thankfully.
Lying in bed trying to relax now, but I can't get the worst out of my head.. it doesn't help that I haven't felt any movements still, so it's panicking me even more.

Sorry I haven't caught up with the thread from today, I'll try to later.. I hope you're all well.

MrsEG · 18/11/2019 16:11

@PippaPug Gosh that sounds so full on!! I don’t know how you’re doing it - I struggle sitting in the dining room at my laptop! I think a 3-day week sounds really sensible; it won’t be for much longer now! Swimming is much better, I had paused my gym membership and was just using the local pool but I’m going to reactive it tomorrow as the pool was just so much nicer and quieter!

@BabySquid Looking forward to seeing the bump!

@purplefig Yep - my WFH today consisted of logging off at 1, having a bath, calling DH to come home and helping me out of the bath, then going for a lie down. Fell sound asleep and I needed it! My DD (my 37 week one) is 1 Feb and I’ll be shutting up shop at Xmas. I’m waving the flag for a good early finish! As you say though I guess you at least have the option to go part time if you feel up to it in Jan?

@BostonFern Super frustrating, it’s very weird to not even really be able to walk - I actually struggle even to cross my legs! I’m so glad it’s just temporary! How are you feeling today? Is it this week that the induction date is scheduled for?

@MrsR16 Ahh how lovely enjoy the meal! I bet it will feel so surreal to leave on Friday knowing that’s it for a good while!! I’m excited about mine, but also feel oddly anxious about it too!

@Tropicana1 Oh your poor little cat :( I’d be the same; I’m a wreck when the dog is poorly! Hope you’re all doing better now!

@LokiCat Oh hun - please don’t worry (easier said than done I know) - it’s one of the main reasons me and DH have abstained from sex for the most part as my anxiety can’t take it. It’s super common for it to irritate your cervix. Keep an eye on it but if you’re really worried could you go and see the midwife for a check over?

I’ve got ‘the damp’ so so bad today. The bloody glamour of pregnancy, eh?! All it ever reminds me is that I really need to do my pelvic floor exercises more so sat in bed cracking on with them as we speak!
